"Ryther Camera did a great job of my order. I placed it on line, the Nikon 5100 camera body was in stock and they shipped immediatly. I wish all of my on line purchases were as easy as fast as the one with Ryther. I would definately order camera equipment again from them."

"The camera pricing was good in comparison to other retailers. The service representative was knowledgeable and helpful when I called. My only gripe is that the representative ended up selling me (in the form of giving me "deals") stuff I really didn't need, like minature tripods and other items that eventually pushed the final price up. My fault for not being strong and saying no, but then I am a novice and didn't know what I didn't know!"

"I was skeptic to purchase from Ryther camera with the negative reviews I found online with my search for my first dslr camera. In the end, the prices and my wallet pushed me into making a purchase and all went smoothly, safely, and secure. I did have a sales person call to confirm my online purchase and despite the reviews that indicated a pushy sale, I received no such treatment. They offered a additional battery to which I declined ( and I wish I hadn't..) and the purchase went through. I received my camera and I am perfectly happy with it. I've been quite consumed with it since it arrived and my only problem with Ryther camera was that I didn't have more money to spend! I did not enter the exact purchase date in the field below due to my failing memory. I do know it was last year and my camera still functions as good as it did when it arrived."

"Found Ryther through Amazon. They were running a Father's Day sale on a Nikon D7000. Being that it was through Amazon and a sale I didn't think anything seemed out of line. They do push you to buy their warranty because they're basically selling grey market cameras. That doesn't bother some people because generally there's nothing wrong with the items themselves, you just can't register with, say Nikon. The shipping was fast and the rep I talked to answered my questions, so if buying a grey market item doesn't bother you then don't be afraid to buy from Ryther."

"I ordered a Canon EF 24-105.. f/4L IS lens from Ryther. After ordering online, I got a call from the company, asking if I wanted this lens, or a more expensive version of this lens (approximately $875 vs. $930). Asking what the difference was, I was told one was a "white box" lens, the other was a regular lens, with full warranty. After some confusion and talking with the first salesman's superior, I bought the "white box" lens, which came with a warranty, but not in the retail box - apparently these come from camera kits that are separated. The issue of the warranty moved this whole transaction into a negotiation, which changed the price to $914, the cheapest I could find the lens anywhere.
While ideally I'd have clicked the button a lens would have appeared at my door, this transaction required a few extra steps. The bottom line was that I received the lens in a reasonable amount of time, in perfect condition, for the cheapest price I could find it anywhere.

"I bought a canon camera on their specials sale. The specials basically means that they separate the kit lens that comes with a camera and repackage it and sell it at a discounted rate. When I ordered on their website, it did not mention that it was an imported model (grey model). I received a mail from their representative to give them a call to complete the order and the rep told me that its an imported model and does not come with US warranty. He said he could upgrade for an extra cost (which was still lower than regular retail price of the lens on other sites) and throw in a canon hood and carry case free and upgrade shipping to 3 day Fedex. I took the upgrade and everything was as promised. Got the lens in 3 days. The lens was in pristine condition including the accessories. "

"They had a special on the lens I was looking for and I ordered it. Checkout process could be streamlined compared to bigger merchants but understand this is a smaller shop and don't mind considering the lower sale price at the time. I expected free shipping to take longer than the stated times but arrived a few days shorter than expected, so that's a plus. The customer service follow-up call was also appreciated. Would buy from again."

"I recently ordered a canon lenses from Ryther Camera online that was on sale. A few days after I received a call from a sales rep from the store asking to charge an extra $85 to upgrade my purchase to the USA model of the canon lenses and not the imported lenses that was ordered. I upgraded and recieved a 7 yr warranty vs the 3 yr that was previously included in my purchase. Have to say for the price I got a great deal. I recieved my package the following day and thus far and very happy with my purchase."

"I was in the market for a new 24-105mm F4.0L series Canon lens, and RytherCamera had the best price on the lens by far. I believe it was on sale and was $200-$300 cheaper than other vendors. Shipping was prompt and on time, and package was properly wrapped and secured. The only hiccup I had was I received a call to purchase the "upgrade" HD filter for an additional $149, which I agreed to at the time but I'm not complete sure of the quality/value of these Zeikos filters compared to the price I paid for them. At that price I would have liked B&W branded filters.

Overall however, a good experience and would consider buying from them again (minus the filter special!)

"After a diligent research, I decided to purchase a Canon camera for my college graduate (approx $1,000.00) not only was Ryther less expensive then their competition on the same model, but were very helpfull on the questions I had about my purchase. We purchased in November of 2011. Being away at school, my son hadn't had much of a chance to use the camera with any regularity. This summer my son discoverd that the company sent the wrong lens. About that time (a couple days later) a customer service representitive called to inquire about another matter. I did mention at the time of my purchase 8 months ago they sent the wrong lens, but wasn't discoverd until a week ago. (Even I would question the validity of this story and I knew it was the truth) The company rep (Millie)was so understanding and helpfull, and with no guarantee, she would advocate to her superior on our behalf and get back to us. After several attempts on her part, we finally connected and she assured us even though the purchase was 8 months ago they were going to exchange the lens at no charge to me. (how many times have you heard the term, restocking fee) not with Ryther! As not to linger on with this story, Ryther ( with Millie's assistance) completely stood behind their oversite. If I ever questioned whether I chose the right company for my purchase, that question was completely dismissed. I'm completely satisfied and feel Millie really went the extra mile in seeing to our needs and concerns and truly represented Ryther in the most professional, diligent, and courteous manner possible. "Living in Canada I sometimes encounter difficulties when ordering in the USA. With Ryther I had no difficulties at all. Everything went smoothly from ordering to verifying my ID over the phone and email to finally hold the product in hand in exactly the time I was promised. I am very satisfied with Ryther's Customer Service and if I could vote I would give them 10 stars out of 10! Thanks for the best Service ever!"

"Placed my order for a Nikon d7000 package on 6/28/12. Order was incomplete when received on 7/10/12, missing my hard-sided case which as supposed to be 'upgraded' to a Professional Model. Call Ryther, they then shipped me a very cheap soft fabric camera bag that didn't even have a zipper to secure the contents. I called them back, and they shipped me a hard-sided case. I received that case today, 7/23/12, and itis the smallest Zeikos makes, definitely not an upgrade. Cannot put camera, two lenses, and charger into the case. They knew what camera and lenses they sold me, and the case won't hold what I bought. Upgrade???? I don't think so. I've waited nearly a month, had to call back three times now, and my order is still incomplete as far as I'm concerned. However, I'm sure their billing department charged me promptly! Ryther Camera sent this review document to me.

Today, 7/28/2012 I finally received the upgraded hard case, about 3 hours before a full month had expired since placing my order. This is the first bad online order experience I've ever had, and I order frequently from online businesses. Ryther Camera seems to have a real problem with being accurate on processing and shipping. Be sure to get product #s on anything you buy from them; that's the only way to be sure you get what you're promised.

"7/14 - Placed my order, received a nice email saying it has been ordered, ok great so excited!

7/16 – Gave them a call to check on the status, they had not billed my credit card and I saw the note about if the shipping and billing addresses are different it could be delayed. Talked to one person couldn’t find my order, didn’t say he needed to transfer me just cut us off mid-convo and sent me to someone who immediately started trying to selling me accessories and other items but still had not answered my first question. He let me know I ordered an import model, which is not disclosed on the website and should be, I upgraded to the USA model of the Canon 5D Mark iii as I would like my $4k investment to have a warranty at this point, nice part he did give me deluxe shipping whoo hooo!

7/17-7/22 – Waited for my confirmation email saying that it had shipped, talked to someone on Friday who said it had shipped but could not provide me a tracking number, so really it hasn't shipped and is sitting somewhere waiting to be shipped? He said I would have it by Thursday the 26th, that is nice but can you at least send me a confirmation saying it shipped no he can't but said my tracking number should be uploaded by the end of the day. Saturday called again, still no confirmation email it shipped, guy assured me it was dropped shipped from the distributor, again so the information was not correct the day before and really you didn't have it in stock to ship that day like it was mentioned. I mentioned I would like to cancel the order as I don’t believe it has shipped and I need the camera by 7/27 so I will just go pick it up locally. He immediately got angry and started yelling at me, telling me that someone already told me I would have it by 7/26, again that is nice but your website says I would have a confirmation 48-72 hours, at which he told me my order does not apply there and disregard that, ok then fix your website to properly reflect that information.

7/23 – Called again to find out shipping status as still not shipping notification, was transferred four times but not one of the people who kept transferring my call indicated where I was being transferred they just stopped talking and transferred me. I was put into an automated voicemail at which I left a message asking someone call me back and sent an email letting them know if I did not have a shipping confirmation by the end of the day I would like to cancel my order. Miraculously I received a shipping confirmation at 5PM EST with a tracking number, clicked on it and noted that it had just been picked up in NJ at 6 PM.

I understand small business and doing it yourself but you will get farther and gain more customers by being upfront and honest without yelling at your customers, there are a lot of bad reviews out there about you being shady and rude take that into consideration when speaking with people. I won't order here again, and am only writing this review now after the camera has shipped for fear I would get screwed out of $4k and that is a crappy feeling to have when working with a vendor. If someone had just said hey we are ordering the camera from the distributor and should be able to ship it out to you on the 23rd I would not have called you requesting updates as much, providing more information to your customers reassures them you are doing your part to get their items.

$4K is not disposable income for me so when I see that you fully charged my credit card and still have no record of the item shipping or anything for six days after it can be a bit unnerving and I hope you can understand that. Now let's just hope that everything comes as it should have to say wish I read a few of these other reviews before placing the order as I would have paid additional on Amazon for a better piece of mind.
