Terrible Service and suspicious product!! The price on their website is very low, but after you place the order, a rep will call you and tell you that is an imported model (grey market model), and ask you to pay more for a US model (which has warranty and better battery). The price of 5D Mark III is 2989 on their website but I have to pay several hundred more for a US model! After I receive the camera, the camera is in a kit box, and they took away the lens, which made me suspect the source of their product. I called them and asked to pay the difference between camera and kit to get the lens at a good price which is shown on their website, but the "US" model they would charge me is even higher than Amazon.com!! I want to RETURN it and buy a new one from authorized seller such as Amazon (a little more expensive, but more reliable), but RytherCamera will charge at least 10% restocking fee. READ THIS BEFORE PLACE YOUR ORDER AND NEVER BUY FROM THEM! "

Originally I ordered a Nikon D7000 with an 18-105mm vr lens. It was priced at $1,069, which is 300 dollars lower than many other places. I was excited and i made the order. Shipping wouldnt have been a problem (7-9 days). Either way I was saving so much. It wasnt until i noticed that it was an import model and it worried me. I called to cancel it, and they asked why I wanted to cancel it. I simply told them that I didnt want an import model because it didnt have warranty. They then gave me two options.
1). Cancel the order
2.) Accept their offer of the body only with their 3-year warranty and an addition battery AND upgraded shipping for only $1,049
I took the offer, but they said it'd still take 7-9 days. The next day I changed my mind again and i told them I found a better offer online and its a US model and i can get it by 07-13-12. They gave me two options again, cancel my order, or accept their offer to upgrading it to 3-day air so I can receive it on friday. No hardsell was used and I accepted it. It shipped today (07-10-2012) and i made the order on the 5th. Im honestly in NO rush at all and im Honestly pretty impressed with this company SO far. I have heard bad reviews so im just watching this carefully. Ryther Camera, as someone said in a review earlier, IS a small company competing with the big boys. In my perspective, I give them my respect because I can tell these guys are doing everything they can to satisfy their customers even after office hours. I called a few times after hours and was still assisted in my orders. Ill be updating as soon as I receive my order and I AM excited (:
UPDATE 7-11-2012: My order came in today. I am very suprised and satisfied. As promised, they did upgrade my shipping but i didnt expect it to come today i expected it on 7-13-2012. It barely shipped last night at 10:30 from New Jersey and im in California. THATS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE COUNTRY haha wow good job Ryther. Everything was in the box not a single item missing. I dont know about the rest of these people who gave Ryther a bad rating but im impressed haha thanks"

"I ordered a Nikon D800 camera from Ryther over the weekend. At this time, the wait for a D800 is about 4 months, I believe. Well, with one D700 in the shop and the other malfunctioning, I am squirming with discomfort. The price is higher than everyone else, but there simply aren't any available within an easy search and I don't mind paying a premium to get one right NOW. The D800 was listed as "In Stock". I ordered it for overnight shipping. I had not read any reviews, but was very worried that I had just tied up a bunch of $$ and would not really see the camera until months from now. Then I read quite a few very bad reviews about Ryther somewhere else, Yelp maybe. They were so bad I kept looking and found this set of reviews which made me feel much better.
I couldn't wait for Ryther to open today (Monday) to call and ask if the camera really was going to ship today. That's when I read on the website that they had Sunday hours and I could have called yesterday. Nice to know:) Anyway, I called this morning. I spoke to David and asked him if the camera was really ready to ship. He assured me it was and asked me if I was aware that they did have a US camera, and did I really want the grey market one I had ordered. The US camera was more, but they always are. Once I found an 800 in stock, I was so excited I forgot to check if it was grey market. I did not find that a pushy 'upsell' one bit. I wanted a US camera and am very appreciative that David verified my desire for a grey market one. He asked about extra batteries and cards, and was very polite and appropriate when I told him I had already ordered them from B&H. He offered an extended warranty, which I found reasonable, upgraded my battery, credited my overnight shipping and still gave it to me. He gave me his extension if I had any questions and told me to enjoy my camera when it comes TOMORROW!
So, right now, how do I feel about Ryther? Pretty darn good! If I have not amended this review, you may assume I did indeed receive said camera as promised and I am too busy happily shooting away with a working camera to come back and say so!!
