"Terrible experience. I attempted to purchase a Canon Eos 7d Camera on January 30 from their website (Google Shopping indicated that they had the best price, about $200 less than normal, on a good kit with free shipping). Everything was good and seemed like a normal web purchase, I received an e-mail confirmation right after the order. The next day, I received a call from "James" who tried to sell me a better battery. I thought it was the bottom grip battery for the camera which can retail for ~$200. James said the battery didn't add much bulk and brought the battery life from 1 hour to 4 hours. I was reluctant, but James brought the price down to $149 and threw in free Fed-Ex shipping and I agreed. Later that day, I checked my account on their website and it showed that the battery I bought was the standard LP-E6 battery that COMES WITH THE CAMERA and can be bought FROM CANON for $100. I called back to ask about it. The company rep said that, by purchasing the upgraded battery, I was getting the "USA" model of the camera and I was generously given free Fed-ex shipping (7-9 Day Business Ground according to their website). This whole deal sounded too sketchy for me, so I asked to cancel the order. Fast-forward another day: no e-mail confirmation that the order has been cancelled, the charge is still on my credit card, and their website page for my order still says it's a "New" order. I called again to ask about the cancellation. This time, no one wanted to talk to me and I was put on hold SIX TIMES over about 30 minutes of holding and then told that I would receive an e-mail confirmation in 15 minutes. That was 30 minutes ago, so here I am writing the review.
Update: 2 hours after my final call to customer service, I received an e-mail stating that the order was cancelled. From the looks of so many other reviews like mine, it looks like this company carefully monitors online reviews. I don't think I would have received a response without ResellerRatings. Buyer beware."
"Be ready for a hard up-sell on the battery and warranty. I got a deal and they upgraded the shipping no charge. In the end, the extended battery didn't make it into the box on my Canon Rebel T3i kit. Hmmm. I called and they sent me one, no hassle!"

Not only was the price very competitive, but the cusomer service was outstanding (it should be a model for other companies who sell on the internet). The day after I placed the order for the T3I camera body, I recieved a call from a REAL person at Ryther, who simply wanted to confirm that I meant to order just the body, and not a camera and lens. He then told me when the camera body was scheduled to ship, and I told him I would be out of town, but could he hold it until the date I gave him. "No problems with my order. A bit of a hard sell for a "4 hour" battery because the supplied battery only lasts "30 minutes". The shipping process is a bit shady, I think the overnight shipping costs are significantly marked up and their standard shipping takes so long that they basically force you in to expedited shipping at their exorbitant cost."
"I ordered from RytherCamera on 01/07/2012 and the product was not in stock even though I was able to order it on their website. The staff was unable to source the product (Spice Jar Rack) and I was refunded my money and notified by email that the product was unavailable. The sales manager called me 2 times to apologize for this mishap and offered to purchase the item on another vendors website and ship it to me at his loss, even paying for expedited shipping. I appreciate their outstanding effort to keep the customer happy and do all in their power to fix the situation. Thank you Victor."
