David also extended the "return by date" to compensate for the holiday gift. He also suggested (no pressure) that I purchase a protective UV filter, which I did. "I contacted Ryther Camera about a lens for my wife's digital Nikon camera, and was absolutely blown away by the support/expertise of the staff. I'm not overly proficient on cameras myself, and mistakenly ordered the wrong lens for her camera. The staff at Ryther Camera caught my mistake and contacted me by phone. "I initially bought the Canon 7D package that, as far as I understood, had a one-year US mfg warranty. After not hearing back from Ryther for a few days, I called to confirm my order, only to find out that I had purchased a generic warranty package, and had to pay $100 more for the US mfg warranty. I felt cheated, but agreed to pay the extra since the overall package was still good.

The package arrived a few weeks later in a kit box, which left me confused as I had ordered a body-only package. Also, the books that were supposed to be included in the package wasn't there - I had to call to request the books before they shipped it over.

Overall, it was not the most ideal experience, and I think I'll be shopping from places like B&H, Adorama or even Amazon from now on."

"Late November 2010 I ordered Canon 60D with 18-135mm lens. My friend recommended this store. Shortly after placing an order I received email asking to call to confirm the order. During the phone conversation with selling agent I learned that I have ordered imported version of the camera not the US model. I believe the difference wasn’t clearly explained on the Ryther Camera website. I decided to pay little bit more to get the full US warranty. The price was still competitive. There was not pressure from the agent to buy any extra accessories. The camera arrived little over the week later. Just in time for our vacation."
