"I ordered a Canon 7d through Ryther. It was advertised at a very low price. When I called to order I asked if it was a gray market camera, even though the ad stated that it came with US warranty. The customer service rep said that it indeed was a gray market camera and as such may or may not include the items that the ad claimed came with it ie. battery and charger. He suggested that I instead buy the US version which was about $150 more (still pretty good deal). When the camera came it was in the box that is for the kit (body and lens) but as I had only ordered the body, the lens was removed. Maybe they are able to sell at a better price by separating the kit, but it looked unprofessional and it would have been nice if they would have told me. I any case, the camera works great and I am happy with the price I paid."
"After searching the internet for the Canon Rebel EOS T2i it appeared Ryther had the best deal. However, some of the reviews I read were less than complimentary...up-selling. poor customer service, slow shipping, etc. I decided to all and see what I experienced prior to placing an order. Much to my surprise the customer service staff was pleasant and well informed. I ordered the camera and have been happy with my decision. The camera arrived before the promised date and in good order. Nothing was backordered or missing. I will definitely use Ryther again in the future for camera supplies."
"I have ordered a package which come with camera, lens, bag and etc. The sales told me that he replaced several items for a good quality. So, they took tripod and slave flash away. It will cost me $50more. But I have not received anything yet. They said they will send me the tracking via e-mail. one week past. no e-mail. Now the price which the item I was order is reduced. What can I do in this type of situaton? No original Canon bag. Please send me the tracking and let me know what kind of del I can have since I have not received yet, their price is done already. "Was a bit nervous at first, did not want to get involved with a bait and switch type place. They had the good reviews and a good price, so I gave them a shot. Everything went pretty well, I called in the order to avoid a call back. The sales person did try to sell me accessories, warranty, etc, but was not pushy and accepted my decline, so I only ordered what I intended to. There was some confusion on shipping (he said that I had to pay more for better packaging and tracking number) but I let this go. the shipping was a little delayed. They said I should receive in 7-9 days. I ordered on 1/28 and received on 2/11 - so 10 or 11 days depending on how you count. So not great but not bad (it hard getting used to slower shipping after ordering from NewEgg). Product received as expected (except I ordered the 60D body only and that is waht came, but the box was a kit box with the lens removed,a little odd, but not a big deal.
All in all, I would order from Ryther again although i would probably follow-up on the shipping after placing my order."

"I expected the upsell call after reading other reviews.
I paid 789.00 for the Sony a55 body only which nobody else had
in stock. I was willing to go the extra 40, my call.
I also ordered the sigma 50mm 1.4 to go with my new camera.
What I did not expect (and was NOT stated in the item description)
was for my Sony a55 to be grey market. No US warranty and the battery
charger was not the convenient fold out plug, but the corded variety of the non US Market.
I was also called a 2nd time stating that the weather was causing shipping delays on the Sigma 50mm, yet they would not lessen the 80 dollar overnight shipping I had paid for BOTH. I was offered a cheap UV filter, which I took.
The lens is now listed as backorder, and nobody is answering the phone.
So while the camera is in perfect working order, it has no US warranty and an annoying corded charger.
I will not do business with again, but the camera did arrive in a timely matter and does work as new, simply an import but not listed
as such.
UPDATE: The manager did give me a call and try to resolve my frustrations. High marks for customer service.
