"On my 3rd gaming Spec laptop. All work just fine, and have. New one on way now. I do a deep clean 1x a year, and replace thermal paste yearly (Most Consumers Don't do this). But I do, I see it as a great investment for my expensive equipment.
I have nothing really bad to say about company. Great specs, no bloatware, and amazing customer support when / if needed! 5 day delivery on last Laptop. I say give them a fair chance, we did and love them! "
"At least for me after my 4th and final Sager/Clevo. Purchased an NP8968 in late 2019 and what follows are the past and present issues I've had with it.
- Cracked case - The case is way too tight and invariably will crack somewhere when you remove it. Most Sager owners open their computers.
- Keyboard cable loose - This was proof to me that my unit was never bench tested or had a burn in. Shipped for repair.
- Secondary Hard Drive failure, never ever lost a drive before, yet alone a new one. Laptop was out of warranty but not the drive when this happened. Only the OEM could return under warranty at this time and this did not happen.
- Bad RAM stick - And replaced with non-branded cheap RAM when I paid for a known high-end brand - again no bench test.
- Mouse Pad popping out of socket. Due to the heat of and proximity to the graphics card, design issue."
"This is my second Sager Laptop, and I think that the clevo/sager laptops are very good units, but their AWFUL support means that I will NOT buy another.
Within 10 months of purchasing a new NP8454 OLED laptop, the power supply keeps shutting off. Even after removing the battery (ok'd by Sager) the computer continues to shut down because the AC Adapter quits. I have answered every question from them, even the repeated questions that I'd already answered. After months back and forth with Sager's "support", their answer is for me to Buy another AC Adapter! They have lost a long term customer over a power brick."
"I purchased an NP7280 from Xoticpc in 2011. At the time, I bought it with i7-990x and 6990m crossfire. It costs around $3900. Nearly a year later, I have to send into Sager for the repair, laptop keeps restarting itself with a blank screen. It turns out that the CMOS battery somehow needs to be changed. It costs about $125 to repair the thing plus the $30 shipping fee.
About a month later, the laptop again has another issue. The laptop freezes during gameplay. So I send it in again for the repair. This time, they tell me that the second GPU (6990m) needs to be changed. Since I’m already out of the warranty, guess what? It costs around $600 to repair the damn thing. This is totally unacceptable; you can easily buy another graphic card (6990m) for about $350 on eBay.
Bottom line is that Sager laptops are highly unreliable. Just like other reviewers stated that Sager computers really are cheap junky products. You are only buying Sager laptops from a middleman (for example, Xoticpc), because Sager customer support is ridiculously terrible. RMA quotes are often replied in broken English. Once your laptop has any issues, you can kiss your money goodbye. It is outrageous this kind of company still exists in the U.S.
In addition, since I live in New York. Every time the laptop has problems; it costs another $150 for me to insure the damn thing to ship to their company. Sager products are terrible; I will not recommend this brand to anyone. If you are reading this review, please do not buy their products. I will definitely avoid their products like disease in the future. Do not listen to those people who are saying Sager laptops are great!
In addition, Xoticpc tried to delete my negative review of the laptop, do not be fooled by their positive ratings!"
"Great prices ordered a laptop for my wife's business with a capable graphics card. Arrived quickly, great service and sales. Great price and specs, would order again."
"I have only owned sager laptops since 2006. They are well laid out (almost always) and easy to work on(almost always) and seem to offer better to equal cooling of anything else on the market.
That laptop from 2006 still works great. Only problems I have had are with ports going dead or not charging in the case of power ports. I think that's a fairly common laptop issue. Sager family for life. "
"got my sager like a month ago, never worked spent 2 weeks getting the tun around with there support. finnaly they gave me an rma slip. been over a month and havent even used my thousand dollar laptop. buy from any1 else. this company has terrable customer server and sells broken computers."
"Short and skinny support was helpful, but it doesn't matter because the product ****. Never going to buy from them again. I'm really not happy with my purchase.
Bought a 2.5k~ laptop. graphics card physically burnt out within 2 weeks, never smelt a melted graphics card before. Support was decent with response times. rebacked up my fresh transferred data, wiped the comp and shipped it back to be fixed thus using my brand new warranty on my brand new computer. After getting it back it blue, yellow, and pink screened every few hours and several months after. I honestly can't remember but I think I backed it up and wiped it a second time to send it in. But that might be my annoyed imagination. Stopped playing games on my gaming laptop and just used blender and Photoshop for art gigs. Constantly saving to my external hard drive in case my laptop bit the dust. At least I can use the thing for half of the reason I purchased it. Tried playing moonlighter as it was free this month on unreal store. laptop shut off without warning before finishing the tutorial. After letting it sit for a day turned it back on to a black screen. After some fiddling I got it working. Now when I plug in both of my two 1080p monitors I lose all my video feeds. So looks like I can't use m monitors anymore. Happy days, I purchased a very expensive brick. As I recall I did purchase an additional 3 or 5 yr warranty when I sent it back the first time. So I could theoretically send it in to get fixed. But at this point I don't want to waste any more time or money on this. I have to purchase more drives to back up everything and then actually back up. . . I'm just going to build my own tower so I know it works. Then I can finally play games again on a machine that wont melt!
Buyers remorse super hard. Should have spent my money to build a boss gaming tower that actually works the first time. My 12yr old tower is still going strong. Can play Starcraft 2 on ultra as if it were pac-man.
Symptoms: over heats very quickly doing anything from Bit blaster XL on steam, or having 20 tabs open in chrome, or even 1 inactive tab for thirty minutes (computer starting to overheat writing this comment after I went away to get some coffee). My old customer tower can do all of this without blinking. I don't know if it is the heat sink, thermal paste, the graphics card, case design, or what. But the computer shouldn't overheat just being on for an hour doing nothing at this price point. If it was a POS $50 laptop I could forgive that. But at $2.5k it should be able to handle low demand steam games, internet browsing, or being left idle for a while without melting. Also if it damaged my 45" 4k, or my display adapter from an overload when it shutdown while playing moonlighter's tutorial I'mma be super ****!! Bad enough I spent my money on a laptop that can't do what I laid down hard earn cash for. But also damaging my other assets. MMmmmh... I'm peeved.

"Simply shut down and wouldn't start up again. Tech support is ignoring my emails so I'm not sure if the warranty is any good either. Avoid these **** laptops at all costs."
"I've bought 2 laptops from Sager and I have always had very amazing customer service. My old laptop is about 6 years old now. It came perfect, but it was one of the fat body laptops. It never ran hot, and was amazing for the price. When I spilled milk on my keyboard, they replaced it no problem.
My new laptop is very nice. It has a full desktop graphics card, M.2 SSD, plenty of ram, high refresh rate display and a HDD all fit into the .78 inch design. Now thin laptops always have more issues as they have less airflow and mine was no exception. I have sent it in to get to fixed two times since I have purchased it. Each time they replaced many parts in there attempts to fix the problems. I use my laptop for building games in VR and testing them on the go with Oculus Rift. It has been perfect this. When I was running s.m.a.r.t diagnostics on the hardware, I found that my HDD was only working at 80% factory standard. They sent me replacement so I could avoid shipping the whole laptop again and refunded my deposit when I sent them the less functional HDD.
My laptops runs perfectly now. In two RMA's this how much they were willing to replace to fix mostly minor problems. The motherboard replaced twice, RAM replaced once, HDD replaced once, BIOS updated once, speakers replaced once and fans replaced once.
All in all, very hard working people at Sager fighting to give you an amazing system for cheap.

"I have been a Sager fan for many years. My last 3 gaming laptops were Sagers and I was very happy with them. I recently purchased my 4th, an NP8375. It was getting so hot after only 10 minutes of gameplay that it actually hurt to touch the keys on the keyboard.
I returned it and was going to buy a thicker-body model, but on returning it, Sager claimed that I did $300 worth of damage to the machine. I fought their claim with photos I'd taken just before returning it, but only won $60 back. I will never buy from these thieves again. Although I've been happy in the past, this was the first time I ever had to use their customer service/return process, and it was awful.
Congratulations on losing a life-long customer, who was willing to pay you thousands of dollars every few years, over a $300 false charge. If you are looking at Sager, I recommend looking for another reseller who deals with the Clevo base. As long as you get a Clevo, you're getting the same exact machine."
"The laptop is wonderful, Np8153. The issue comes with Sager customer support. I explained very slowly and carefully the exact issue I was having, and was met with return emails as if they had not understand what they read.
For example, I wrote:
"The resetting issue ONLY happens when playing ANY game and power is disconnected.
The resetting issue does NOT happen when NOT playing a game.
The laptop WILL run on the battery with NO issues."
To which I got the reply:
"If power on only by the battery, can the unit run well without play the games?"
At $2300, and a three year parts and labor warranty, I expected a higher quality of service."
"Sager laptops seem like dream come true. I bought my sager laptop a couple months ago. I was pretty excited about it. I was planning on gaming with friends as much as I could and using it as a work tool.
At about the third month, the laptop started to act weird. I got blue screens of death often and the laptop would reach 90 degrees Celsius. Finally my laptop broke for the first time in that same month. The laptop just wouldn't turn on.
I decided it would be best to send it in to Sager. It's very weird that a laptop like this would just completely shut down, but I thought it was just my luck.
Turns out they couldn't find anything wrong with. Luckily they didn't charge me anything. But when my computer breaks down and I send it in, the last thing I want to hear is "We couldn't find anything wrong with it."
They sent it back to me and everything was working properly again. And about 2 months out from when I got it back in the mail, low and behold it broke down again.
This laptop is such a tease. The sound of a pay as you go laptop sounds amazing. But if you are a true gamer like I am, DO NOT BUY SAGER. I can't exactly vouch for people who don't play on the regular, but for people who get on World of Warcraft, Hearthstone, Overwatch, etc. For awhile each night. This laptop is a nightmare waiting to happen.
DO NOT BUY SAGER LAPTOPS!!!
This hasn't happened to just me, do a Google search on sager laptops. The same thing happens to all of them, and within a short amount of time."
"I've bought my Sager NP8652 2 years ago through a reseller. The laptop worked fine up until a few weeks ago and simply failed. I've tried to go through my reseller's customer support for an RMA to ship the laptop for repair (still under warranty) at Sager.
2 weeks go by and not a word from the reseller. Contacting Sager customer support proved even more futile since they didn't even bother replying to my emails/calls. This was almost 2 weeks ago (almost 1 month in total).
Basically, I was left hanging dry with a useless warranty for a very expensive laptop that needed urgent fixing.
Good tech. support and a good usable warranty are paramount when purchasing expensive laptops/desktops. Sager have utterly failed on both fronts and have forced me to pay for an expensive fix (motherboard failure).
Don't buy into their flashy website, cool looking computer systems and fake customer service promises. Their systems work...until they don't and then you're screwed.
AVOID SAGER AT ALL COST!!!"
"I purchased a Sager computer and have been extremely satisfied with the quality and performance of the product.
It's hard to believe that all these negative reviews are real. The company offers a generous guarantee and the people I have talked to have always been friendly and helpful.
The company has been around since the mid-80s? Small business focused on delivering high end custom product.
One of our local IT experts recommended Sager a couple of years ago and I am glad he did!
