"Do not purchase from Skymall. They are going through bankruptcy. I purchased an item and returned it for a refund prior to them filing. I received an email that they are not providing me my refund. So I am now out of the product and my money. Don't buy from them!!!"

"So far, I am pretty disappointed with my SkyMall experience. I ordered an item as a gift for my husband at the end of January. It was to arrive no later than February 9. On February 12, I attempted to track my order. The FAQ section of the website said to click on "Order Status" at the top of any page. I could not find that link anywhere. I sent an email to inquire about my order. To this I received an automatic reply stating I would hear from someone within 2 business days. Finally, on February 18 I received a response saying it was being looked into. It was not until February 20 that I was told my item is backordered until the 27th. I understand that things happen, but my item will not even ship until almost a full month after I ordered it. My biggest concern is the lack of communication through the entire process. I am glad I planned ahead.
UPDATE: Now I'm downright mad. Over a month after I placed my order, I've been told the item has been discontinued. Perhaps situations like this is why the company (SkyMall) seems to be doing poorly. I'm shocked at the lack of customer service. Beyond disappointed.

"EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED IN SKYMALL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!
We ordered a clock Dec 19, 2014. Rec'd an email 25th that it would be not be shipped out until Jan 13. That's fine! no problem. But come Feb 9th (I was off on Sick Leave until then), we still hadn't received our order. I tried to call, but unfortunately (and annoyingly) customer service is all done online and by email. Sent an email, rec'd the auto reply that I would receive an answer within 48hours, but been receiving vague replies later than 48hrs. Sent 3 or 4 separate emails explaining the situation but only to get vague response that they are looking into it. It is now Feb 20, and still trying to get answers from Customer service. We are in Ontario, Canada. The clock was shipped to Skymall in Phoenix, AZ and seems to have never shipped out to us from there. Now the status on our order says CLOSED. Tried to clearly explain to customer service thru 2 emails, but no one seems to be interested in helping me..... therefore, I will be cancelling my order, demanding a full refund and ordering it through Hammacher Schlemmer. Should have done that in the first place.
Sorry Guys, but your Customer Service is TERRIBLE!! Suggestion, make your policy to reply to inquiries same day or next day, not so bad. 48 hours or later responses makes us feel you really don't care.
We are now 2 weeks later and I'm not any closer to finding out where my clock is. And I am sure it is a very simple explanation!

"I have been trying to get in touch with customer service for weeks now and all I get is an automatic response email. I am very frustrated and disappointed.
The first order I placed was cancelled without telling me so I placed it again and still cannot find satisfaction. I don't know if this one was cancelled as well.

"I have lost all confidence in Sky Mall. I placed an order over a month ago, even though I was aware of their bankruptcy situation. Since then, I have received numerous emails stating that the item is backordered and each email had a date further out into the future. They now say March 25. I tried calling the number in one of their emails and they no longer take phone calls. I understand why now. Stay away from this company. I have requested a refund."
