"Nice packing job, this firm slapped a UPS tag on the box the item came in.It is a miracle it
survived the journey.I would shop elsewhere as
these people are too cheap to buy boxes and packing materials."
"The product is the Winegard 2002. The antenna went bad after 2 days. I had to send it back and was charged shipping - BOTH WAYS. So I spent over $20 for a faulty antenna. I will never use this company again. I really feel ripped off. I contacted customer service and they really couldn't care less.
UPDATE:
The complaint I entered here went straight to the marketing department who then got back to me immediatly to set things straight. They in fact noticed that I was supposed to get free shipping and they agreed to refund the whole purchase price without deducting shipping, and promised to credit my return shipping fee.
They mentioned they would try to communicate to customer service what was going on, so if you have a problem contact customer service first, then go to marketing.

"They had the best price for the converter box I was looking for... Channel Master 7000. Yes, it was sent without an outer box, but I did not notice any damage to the contents. I made my order late on Saturday, May 23, and it was shipped out on Tuesday (Monday was Memorial Day). Nothing to complain about with this retailer, so in fact, I've used them again to order converter boxes for my mom. I should mention that I had trouble when trying to set up and use an account on their website. I think it's because my e-mail address is long and/or because it has a hyphen in it, but I received an error when trying to place the error. Fortunately, nothing went wrong (for example, DTV coupons did not become invalidated) and I was able to submit the order without using an account but still specified my e-mail address for receiving the status of the order."
"This company was excellent. My son needed converter boxes for a local nursing home for his eagle scout project. The representatives were VERY supportive of this worthwhile project. They worked with us on the details, returned calls within an hour. They also were very efficient, shipping 50 boxes and 13 antennas which arrived the very next day! Thank you Solid Signal!"
"Folks avoid this merchant like the plague. They clearly take people's business for granted. My order arrived with no packing material inside the outer container to protect the items I ordered. As a result, the contents were all banged up. Then I discovered Solid Signal shipped me product that someone else had returned to them. It's obvious as a sore thumb because there are return labels stuck to the outside of the manufacturer boxes and you can read the names and addresses of the people who returned the goods back to Solid Signal. Further inspection reveals the items aren't even new because they show signs of wear and the manufacturer boxes were taped shut with what appears to be household scotch tape used for wrapping gifts. Their bait 'n switch tactics speak very loud about their unsavory business practices. Attempts to get a resolution has been fruitless so I ended up having to dispute the charges on my credit card, AND I also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau for Detroit / Eastern Michigan. On a scale of 1 to 5 with 5 being the best, Solid Signal rates a ZERO. Their business practices are unethical and totally inexcusable -- not honest and consumer friendly. This business epitomizes what's wrong with America today."
"I have only ordered satellite equipment from Sadoun but thought I should try another seller. I searched and found a better price on Solid Signal but was a little worried about their Reseller Rating. There six-months and lifetime rating worried me a bit but I gave them a try.
I ordered an Accutrac22 Pro MKII from Solid Signal on the night of April 16th and received a SHIPPED e-mail Friday afternoon. On Tuesday (4/21) I received my package. Compared to Sadoun that ships from Columbus, Ohio, they were quick to ship (Solid Signal ships from Livonia, Michigan).
There was only one thing I did not like about Solid Signal and that was how they shipped the merchandise. They didn't use any type of protective wrap or content to protect the merchandise during shipping.
Other than that, I am glad I found another reputable satellite equipment seller and I hope Solid Signal keeps improving.
Thank you."
"After a "very satisfied" experience with a previous order(see my review dated 2/20/2009),I decided to place another order for two DTV converters, and an antenna preamp. As with my previous order, this order was shipped the same day,and arrived four days later. When I opened the shipping box, instead of everything being in factory sealed boxes(as in my earlier order),all three items were "open box items". The two DTV converters had been shipped as someones separate orders before in their "bare" factory boxes. The address labels had been ripped off,but the earlier order numbers were still on labels attached to the boxes, and the boxes were all beat up.The antenna preamp had scratches around the cable connectors indicating it had been hooked up before.I sent an email to the returns dept describing the problem, and requesting they take them back at their expense, and reship my order with factory fresh sealed items.Apparently they read my email in haste, because they replied,if the boxes were damaged in shipment I needed to contact FedEx.I tried to call the return specialist who sent the email, but was told she didn't work that day. When I described my problem to the person in returns who was working,I was told the DTV converters could not have been "open box" items, because they did not allow them to be returned. This after I said they had parts of shipping labels on the factory boxes.I sent another email to the return specialist who referred me to FedEx,telling her the shipping box was in fine shape,it was the DTV boxes inside, which were beat up from being shipped earlier "bare".I even gave her the earlier order numbers from old labels on the boxes. After that, she sent me an email saying she would send me an ERL to using in shipping the items back, and after receiving them, would reship my order.I received the ERL four days later(after sending another email saying I had not received it yet). Two days after they received my returned order, they sent me a new shipment, which arrived in good shape. All three item were in factory sealed boxes packed in one shipping box,and they all functioned OK.Unlike in my earlier order, there were no airbags or any packing material in the shipping box.Once I sent them the old order numbers, everything went very well on my return."
"Executive summary: You lose time and money when attempting to return/replace ANYTHING from this company. Their After-Sales return/replace item support is a fine example of "WHAT NOT TO DO". All communication with them is like communicating in a black hole.
Buyer beware.
[Expanded coverage]
To those of you looking for some hard to find products, Solid Signal just might have it.
I ordered a smart antenna and a Tivax T8 converter which arrived without undue delays.
That wraps it up for the positives, now the rest.
Like other reviewers, the antenna I ordered (RCA ANT2000) was shipped in the manufacturer OPEN faced box. Was there damage?
Not on the outside of the antenna or box, but inside the antenna a few unknown items were travelling around. The antenna gave poor reception in a Metro area (no high rises or tall trees) and I wanted to get the antenna replaced the same day it arrived because it obviously has problems.
Either the Tivax or the antenna is giving distorted signals, frequent pauses and the infamous "No Signal".
Have you ever heard the phrase "Good service takes time"?
Well, if you order from this company you will, multiple times while on hold and then finally one more time when shunted to their voice mail abyss. I've called for weeks at different hours, even very early and late. I've sent a email support tickets. I've done all a customer should do to get support short of travelling to their offices which is only 15-20 miles away.
The result?
Nothing. A big fat goose egg. Stellar black holes in space give better communication than this company (at least you can see their event horizon).
I'm really sorry to see thier name on the list of approved vendors for the Government converter boxes and I'm also sorry and apologize to the rest of you that they're a Michigan company.
I'm the owner of a computer consulting company and if I had employees who gave this kind of service, I'd ask them to pick up their last check at the end of the day.
Again, buyer beware.

"Ordered two - Tivax STB-8 converter boxes and one channel master CM3000A antenna, shipping was really fast, got the items within 3 days, but of course the items were shipped in the original manufacturer's packaging, with no protection whatsoever. The converter boxes were taped together and of course the edges of the boxes were crushed. The antenna box was also crushed. I took the converter boxes out and tested them immediately with rabbit ears that I had available. The converter boxes were undamaged...thankfully. The antenna did not fair so well. the RG-59 TV cable connector was broken off in the housing and would spin around. I placed the antenna on a 20ft mast hoping it would work, hooked it up and got nothing from it. I tried emailing and then calling solid signal customer service to return the item, but got nothing from them in response to either inquiry. I replaced the antenna with another one from a local source that was half the price and I'm able to get 19 digital channels. It doesn't have the range that the CM3000A supposedly does, but I didn't have a local source for the CM antenna. I have to say that I got pushed around on the phone from department to department by various persons until all I got was a voicemail box to leave a message, which hasn't been returned yet. Customer Service is a big fat ZERO from this company. I'm very disappointed and upset."
"I ordered a TV antenna from them even though the ad said that it would take more than two weeks to ship. It was shipped in about two weeks and it arrived in good shape. During the time that I ordered and they shipped, the price was almost doubled, but they gave me the lower price. Overall I am well-pleased with their service. "
"Ordered online 5pm Tuesday, Received 10am Thursday ... one Dish Network TR-40CRA ... Works Great! I had 5 channels, now I have 13. Thanks!"
"I orderd and recieved a "dish" yet for some reason the misc screws, nuts and bolts were not in the box, (which had been damaged!. I ordered it on Dec 15 2008, and it arrived on the Dec 23. I called and after waiting for a long time, spoke with someone that told me to contact "Jamie", who I left a phone message for and sent an email.
After two weeks of not contact, I called again and left "Jamie" several more messages, none of which resulted in a phone call or email. On Jan20 2008 I again emailed and called, finally two days later got a person on the phone, who actually got some "replacement" screws sent to me. HOWEVER there were only about 1/2 of what I was missing.
I emailed again, and after 2 days have heard nothing, I GIVE UP.
Don't waste time and energy on this "storefront".

"I ordered two converter boxes and a smart antenna on January 1st at 5:00 PM. I received shipping confirmation and tracking numbers on the 2nd. On the 3rd-a Saturday-I received my packages at 11:30 AM-less than 48 hours from my placing the order. All items were in great condition in their original packaging. The converter boxes were shipped in an additional box with air pockets. I had no issues using two government coupons at checkout."
"SOLID SIGNAL-TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE IF YOU RECEIVE A DEFECTIVE CONVERTER BOX. I ordered two Tivax T9's 9/21/08. Then one more in October for my mother. BTW Tivax STB-T9 is supposedly rated #1 converter box. We installed all three. Two are working fine, but one is defective. I bought these from Solid Signal because they were one of the first websites to come up when I Googled Tivax T9. I have talked to Solid Signal a couple times and corresponded back and forth several times through email. First they told me they could not take it back and give me another one because it's a government program and I would have to contact the manufacturer. I told them that if I did not get some satisfaction, I would write an on-line review. Eventually, they agreed to send me a return label to send it back to them for a replacement. However, they have never done that. I have been talking to them since October 21st trying to exchange the defective converter box. Also, I was told there is somewhere on their website that tells customers that they do not take back defective converter boxes and you will have to go through the manufacturer. I went back to the website to see if I could fined this statement. After a couple of minutes searching to no avail, I decided I had wasted enough time. I had to call Tivax to get their email address to get directions on how to exchange this item. I do a lot of on-line shopping and I have never experienced such a mess trying to get an even exchange for a defective item.

"Best price for the item & timely shipping, but item was not shipped inside another box, & the mfg packaging didn't have any padding. Something was rattling inside the unit (hd converter box) & the picture was wavy & snowy. They don't accept returns on converter boxes, so I'm out shipping charges to the mfg & however long it takes them to return it."
