I've ordered multiple units like this one from the US and all have been of excellent quality (none thru these guys). Upon receiving this one it was absolute junk. Did not work in the least. Upon contacting the company I was offered the opportunity to have it repaired locally and receive a partial refund to defray my costs. This sounded fine and worth the chance as I could take up the offer of a full refund if no success.
I had some repairs done locally which got the unit to a point where itt worked sufficiently to use on some jobs, but was never great. The intensity dial would flick the needle up and down with no real sense relating to how it was adjusted, but usually I could just get it to an intensity level where I could trace a wire.
I accepted a 40% refund of what I paid (though not the exorbitant shipping price), and when after two weeks the unit failed completely (as I would say it was always destined to do), I contact to arrange to return the unit and receive the remainder of my refund.
At this time I was informed that I had voided the warranty by having it repaired, and was now not eligible for any form of refund. Those in the US will know that by offering this option and deliberately causing me to void the warranty, that this constitutes mail fraud. The fact it happened over international lines means it's automatically a felony. I'm pursuing these guys through the correct Australian channels and through the state department in the US to ensure criminal charges are pursued. I'm starting a website to track my progress and I'll post copies of all correspondence received as well as video of the garbage unit that was delivered to me in place of a wire tracker.
There are plenty of reputable dealers in the US, one of whom I will return to after having used them previously. Beware of these bottom feeders! Do not do business with them, they are entirely without scruples and essentially conducting a criminal enterprise, particularly where international orders are concerned. Will have another review up shortly with the URL for the website. Follow along to see how we go about getting justice on this. Not my first rodeo where US vendors are concerned, will be helpful for anyone else who finds themselves in business with these shysters or any of their ilk in the US. "

We did not receive an email from stating that the item was not properly working until December 19, 2022 when you replied to an automated email that was sent. We offered you an option of 40% refund to offset the cost of the repair or to return the unit to us for a manufacturer repair and that you would have to pay shipping to us as per our website states https://www.tequipment.net/return-policy/#anchor7 On January 16, 2023 you emailed us stating that you would gratefully accept the offer of the 40% refund and have the unit repaired locally and that the item was working and that you appreciated the steps that we took to amend the situation and to cover the repair costs with the 40% refund. On February 13, 2023 we then received an email that the unit had failed completely. We are the distributor of this item and not the manufacturer, we have offered two solutions to have this fixed and you chose the option of the refund and to have the unit handled locally. At this point we will have to direct you to the manufacturer directly with any other issues that you may be experiencing.”

Once you confirmed you were exporting we needed to cancel the order. There should not be a charge on your account only a hold. We do not collect payment until the item is shipping. If you are using a international card or a debit card, the bank may have withdrew the funds from your available balance, but we did not collect the money. ”
