"All I can say about TheNerds.net is DO NOT BUY THERE! I had a 2-week merry-go-round with the Customer Service Manager that was not much fun. They shipped me an "open box" Belkin UPS, sold as new, without packing it very well. The UPS weighs some 25 pounds, and it bounced around in its packing box, from Illinois to California, because it didn't have the OEM heavy foam packing cradle in place.
So the UPS arrived scratched, and I wondered if it would work at all after such a long FedEx Ground trip.
First thing I did was fire off an email to their customer service department, telling them what happened. I asked in that email for TheNerds.net to issue a Call Tag for the UPS, take it back, and ship me a brand new unit, not an open-box like I got.
Two days went by, and finally at about 6PM PST I get an email from the Manager of Customer Service. He writes that they are not in the business of selling used for new, and he'd issue a Call Tag for the UPS, then ship me a new unit when the Call Tag showed that the UPS had been picked up. "I have the UPS available in CA, so you'll only be 2 days without a UPS," he wrote.
Fine, so I packed up the scratched UPS, and waited. Nothing happened for 6 days. On the 7th day, I get another email from the Manager, he writes "I had to go out of town on a personal matter. The warehouse issued the Call Tag, but FedEx didn't process it."
Yeah, right! A big old lie I thought. This guy must think I just fell off the turnip truck.
Meanwhile, I put the UPS online with my new Mac G5, and at least it works fine. Although it doesn't look great, at least it was working. I write him back, saying FORGET IT Mr. Customer Service Manager. You had your chance, now I don't want anything more to do with you or TheNerds.net. I wrote that at least I had the Belkin factory warranty on the UPS should something go wrong, and that's a LOT MORE service than he gave me.
End of story. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE. They sell used for new, then they lie about replacing the item. The Customer Service Manager is incompetent, and just outright lies to you. I wouldn't recommend these people for shore duty in a hurricane!
TheNerds.net=BAD, Bad, Bad!"
"Stay away from this one. I ordered a couple of memory sticks on a weekend deal. My credit card was charged almost immediately. I received an email a few days later, stating that they were out of stock and that my card would be credited.
It took well over a week to see the credit and it only came after I complained to the store.
This is the first online dealer that I have dealt with that charged BEFORE shipping any product.
Will not use them again."
"Great price and super fast shipping. Good communications. I recommend them. Had to return one of the 8 items I ordered, it was defective. They have a complicated return policy, requires a returned merchandise authorization and prior approval."
"This is the first time and probably the last time I buy something from thenersds.net
On March 2nd I bought 10 boxes of labels on line. Next day I saw the credit card charge. 7 days later I received only 5 boxes.
To make this history short, until today and after a lot of e-mails and phone calls between thenerds.net and me, I paid 10 boxes but I only got 5 boxes.
Yesterday I called them again and the guy over the phone said to me “If you need the other 5 boxes then you have to buy it again. If the lost boxes appear then I would make you a return to your credit card”.
UPDATE: Finally TheNerds.net send me the missing boxes. They take 1 month to do that. FedEx lost the boxes in the first shipment"

"Horrible experience. If you placed your order over weekend there would be no chance for you to cancel it. I was calling this company, sent them an e-mail asking not to ship the merchandise but despite everything I did - the merchandise has been shipped. I spoke to CSR early Monday but the only advice I've got from him was refusing the order. CSR told me that my money will be credited back to my credit card and I trusted him ... until I've got the credit, which was way less then the original amount. When I spoke to that man again, he said that he never told me that all my money would be credited back in full. And now, he (CSR) was trying to "explain" me that it was my fault that I placed my order over weekend."
"The Jerks - AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!
On 2/2/06 I ordered a panasonic network camera.
Here is my first email about this to the company:
#
hi,
I ordered the wrong camera. Ther culprit: Froogle:
The term "panasonic BL-C30A wireless" brings up a page
on which the second line allows one to compare 59
prices. When you click on tha link, the headline says:
Panasonic Consumer (BL-C30A) Wireless Network Camera
802.11g, Automatic Network Configuration, Unive
Price: $165.89 - $481.37.
I was happy to jump on the 165.89 price. Who wouldn't?
Especially because you guys have "Panasonic network
camera" listed on the Froogle list under 165.89 and
248.82 without any further info whether the camera is
wired or wireless.
So I clicked on the 165.89 price and ordered the
camera without noticing that it was the wired version.
I wanted the wireless version.
I would like to arrange an exchange. Please let me
know how.#
This email remained unanswered despite repeated resendings. Their automated RMA page told me (5 days after the purchase) that I purchased it over 30 days ago and it is not returnable. I called the customer service where I was told that they do not take back panasonic products, and it is clearly stated on the website. They gave me an 800# for Panasonic which I was suppOsoed to call for a return authorization(?). I called the number but they just laughed at me, as I expected. I called again and (1) a young punk treated me like an idiot and (2) claimed that they replied to my emails and (3) at any rate they will send me an email about how to contact Panasonic for the return. naturall, that email never arrived either.
I sent them an email, cc-t to a company executive (found via Register.com), to this day (2/17) I got no reply. This was my final email:
I understand that the Manager of Customer Service
claims to have sent me an email about how to contact
Panasonic.
Funny, I didn't get it. I did get your order
confirmation as well as the returns from postmaster
for underliverable addresses but none of your claimed
replies. Nor did I get anything at [another email address]
which I gave you just in case yahoo has a problem with
your domain which it obviously does not, as per the
above.
At any rate, here is a verbatim quote form your
website:
"returns (request an RMA)
TheNerds.Net provides it's customers with a Free Total
Satisfaction Warranty on everything we sell.
If for any reason, in the first 30 (thirty) days from
the invoice date, you are not 100% completely
satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a
hassle free full refund (minus shipping amount and
credit card service charges).
...
If you willingly posted a Free Total Satisfaction
Warranty and hassle free refund in case no Total
Satisfaction is achieved, when in fact you know full
well that it is not true, then you are liable for
false advertising.
I would have been perfectly satisfied with an exchange
for the more expensive product (and for the life of me
I can't figure out why you did not go with that) but
at this time I just want to return the item for the
refund.
Furthermore, I take exception with the arrogant
attitude of the youngish-sounding customer service rep
over the phone. He, even more so than the Manager,
tries to convey this attitude that only a fool would
not know that an item ordered through a web based
reseller should be returned to the manufacturer. This
is utter BS.

AVOID THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE"
"I would like to commend thenerds.net for their excellent service and delivery time on a product that I've recently purchased from them. The product arrived in just ONE day after I placed the order, even though, I opted for the ground delivery service. The only complaint I have is with their website status, which isn't very up-to-date. It still had not indicated that the product was shipped, after I had received it...thus, no information was available for tracking the package. I had to call to such information. But all-in-all, I'm very impressed with their expedite shipment and very deserving of my recommendation. And they have one of the lowest prices out there, to boot!"
"Ordered my TV Stand because of their low price and received it two days later using standard ground shipping. Great price and fast shipping. Look forward to my next purchase."
"My State Attorney Generals Office and my Congressperson’s Office have been asked to investigate why and how something like this transaction can happen.
I have notified my credit card company to dispute the THENERDS.NET purchase and credit my credit card.
The Credit Manager ignored my request to get me the name and contact info for the President The President has twice ignored my request for help.
The Customer Service Manager had promised but didn’t credit me for my defective Microtek Scanner."
"These crooks cancelled my order for no reason but they still charged my credit card the money. I had to call a couple of time before they finally refunded my money but 2 wks later. Don't deal w/ any company that charges you before they ship the item. Sure sign of an unethical business."
"Highly recommended. I read many reviews of this place at different "price comparison" sites and figured I would give them a try. The main reason I went with them is their return policy(only 3% even if opened). Many other sites charge at least 15-25% on returned items even if the package was unopened.
I ordered a Garmin GPS76 CS and Auto Nav kit at 1300
EST on 21 Dec. I was called back by a person within an hour to verify my information(fraud check?). I paid for standard shipping($22.)which was high but their low prices offset that somewhat and I was told that it would be 3-5 business days to arrive. I expected at least that due to Christmas being so close but not a problem for me. I did not get a tracking number later that day even though their site showed that the order was processing(as expected from previous reviews). I live in CT and the package arrived the next day...with standard shipping!!! I have no complaints with this place and highly recommend them. If I need to return anything I will post a follow up."
"These guys did not have my item in stock, but billed me anyway and did not contact me about the unavailability of the product. My order status on their website said "processed" so I ended up without a Christmas present for a loved one. Worst online purchasing experience to date."
"Cheapest Price.
Quick Shipping. (Ordered late night, shipped next day)
Tracking number isn't emailed to you. It is only available on their website. Also, tracking number didn't show up until 24 hours after the item was shipped."
"Ordered a plasma mount late afternoon (3:45 cst) Thursday and it arrived the next day. I did not specify or pay for overnight shipping. I'm in Alabama and they are in Miami. Pretty great for my first purchase here."
