"I ordered a set of 4 Toyo Open Country 265/70/R70 S13 tires via TireBuyer.com website yesterday (6/6/2018) at approx. 8:15AM, received immediate email confirmation. I was notified 5 hrs later that they were shipped, then received notice they were received by my installer at 7:44 PM. ( i.e fulfilled "free/same day shipping" promise and they also fulfilled $50 discount for shipping to installer). Before noon today I had an alignment and the exact tires I ordered installed on my 2016 RAM 1500 4X4. Basically a 24 hour process in total.
I submitted $150 rebate form on-line (easy) and am hoping they successfully fulfill it as well (too early to tell, of course but I am not worried based on their performance to this point). So far- in spite of the negative reviews I read- I love the tires and the buying experience. I recommend and will use TireBuyer again."
"They were rude hateful and unproffesional"
"I tried to return a tire that blew out, and they dragged their feet so that the warranty period expired. They "claimed" they mailed the return shipping label--twice--but I never received either. Then they claimed they faxed the return shipping label to the shipping store itself, but the shipping store associate even acknowledged they were misleading.
They may ship products rapidly, but you really learn about a company when you have to return a defective product. TireBuyer are Swindlers. Recommend another vendor. "
"I typically do not provide negative reviews, however after the last 2 transactions (rather attempted transactions) I felt the need to warn people. I order 4 tires, direct ship to an installer at just under $700. Got my email confirmation that they should arrive in 2 days. Called on day 3 and they informed me my order never processed. I explained i had a screenshot of the online order, plus the email confirmation, and the funds here being withheld from my bank account. Sounds pretty complete to me. Anyway, the rep asked if I wanted to complete the transaction. I asked him to please hold it, I would call back (after confirming with my spouse-needed the tires to pass inspection that was then 7 days out). Next thing I know, I get an order cancellation (How do you cancel an order that never happend?) And refund request email. So I call back and get Tire Buyer Brian. I explain the situation and he also cannot tell me what had happened. So he offered to place the order again. Price had increased. I was already (temporarily) out $700 and they were now 5 to 10 days to deliver. After asking what could be done to compensate for the inconvenience, I got a response of "Well you already have a 5% off coupon, but I guess I can take a few more dollars off." Gee golly... THANKS! So I decide to go ahead and reorder. Get the email confirmation and notice the install cost went from $78 to $98. The exact amount of the *discount* he offered me. Fast forward to today (4 days later) and I get an email stating the order had been cancelled and the installer was no longer part of their partner program. Second email stating a refund request was processed and to expect 3 more email updates regarding my refund. So now I have $1400 of funds ****, a truck I can't drive until I get tires to pass inspection, and frankly after Christmas not enough money to buy another set of tires until they refund me money. I am not happy!!! And recommend that you avoid this company."
"I bought four Nexum tires for my 2008 Equinox. In less than 10000 miles the vehicle shook because the tires had tread separation. I filed a warranty request and shipped the tires to Tirebuyer. The warranty form promised step by step updates. No updates were received. After a month I called Tirebuyer. They indicated that it takes up to 45 days to process a warranty. A few minutes later I received an email stating the warranty would not be honored because although there was tread separation this was not due to poor workmanship. This problem occurred on tires recommended for my vehicle. The tires were installed by a shop approved by Tirebuyer on a vehicle with no alignment problems. And failed after a very short time. It is clear here the tires failed prematurely and that the promised pro-rated warranty is worthless. "
"Tried and tried to look for a place order option when i get from paypal screen. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING!! There is no option at all to place my order. You just lost a customer. A $450 sale"
"Tires that were shipped to local installer were the wrong size. The mindless drone at tire buyers site was useless and said they do not make mistakes, when they clearly did .they were no help w/needed copies of a simple sales receipt .This co.has no customer service.
And they charged me extra for the reshipped tires.
Will never use this sad excuse for a co.again. stay away!!!"
"Had an issue when I went to pay for my order. Someone picked up right away and helped me and I ended up ordering right on the phone. And at one point the installer didn't know where my tires were in the shop, so I called tire buyer to see if my tires actually got delivered. They told me where to tell the installer to look in the shop because the tires from them tend to be in a different section of the drop off location. Over all great experience, and free shipping is always great."
"I've purchased 5 sets of tires in the past 3 years. Never had an issue until one tire had developed a bubble on a side wall. Mind you there were NO marks on the wheel but tirebuyer determined that we hit a pot hole. FL doesn't have pot holes. They sold defective product and don't stand behind it......Buyer beware."
"I ended up going with TireBuyer because 1) the tires I was looking for were more than $30 cheaper per tire than any other site and 2) the option to choose an installer. It basically makes both steps of buying tires so EASY.
**THIS NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT **
I was quoted $68 for the install and $5 per tpms so the total should have been $88 at Bridgestone. The problem came when I went for the install Bridgestone quoted me $146!!! Being as I took off work and planned around getting my tired installed that day I couldnt reschedule. So I paid. Tirebuyer sent me a request for a review so I sent and honest one. The website was great, the shipping was great, the price was great, BUT THE INSTALL PRICE WAS DECEIVING.
Flash forward to now, Dylan Lindsay contacted me and informed me that BRIDGESTONE OVERCHARGED ME NOT TIREBUYER. They took care of the refund for me. This customer service is top notch
So for everyone in the reviews that is saying TireBuyer quoted them lower price for the install and ripped them off, it wasnt Tirebuyer. They will refund you the difference themselves."
"Totally wrong. They don't charge for delivery but send 2 torn tire who don't want to sit on rim because they are to torn. Quality issues... they send the tires unpack so we don't know if they know the tire was torn, still they should charge 5 bucks for shipping and put them in a secure box so they don't have this issue. Never again I will get caught to buy anything from them. Please go away from that company."
"Seriously amazing customer service. Had issues with the online site, called in spoke with Tony and he got everything fixed for me. The prices are unbeatable, believe me I shopped around all day! Also super cool that they have a relationship with auto shops for installation. Definitely recommend this site!"
"I want to thank you all at tirebuyer.com for a fantastic service. I ordered my tires yesterday, with savings of approximately $500, and was shocked to receive a call from the installer at 9AM this morning. I also called a customer support representative yesterday to confirm that my order was correct, he called me back saying it was not correct and that he had corrected it for me. I purchased, received and had my tires installed all within 24 hours. Great Job!!"
"Be aware of "custom wheel fees" if you're ordering a set of winter wheels and tires. Get them shipped to your house (usually for free) and not an installer because they *must* charge the tirebuyer install fees and the tires *must* be installed there, they cannot be picked up. If you refuse this, it's a restocking fee of 10% plus return shipping fees even from the certified installer (winter tires do not qualify for returns anyway). I was charged a "custom wheel fee" in addition to the normal mount/balance to have the newly purchased tires installed on the newly purchased wheels and picked up. Seems like a routine job that doesn't command an extra $76 of mandatory fees ($142.50 total). The fee is supposed to cover swapping out wheels and keeping old tires since that's another mount/balance job but I didn't do that and still was charged this fee, basically double dipping."
"I normally go with Tire Rack. But this time, I went with Tirebuyer because they allowed me to use PayPal Credit to finance the tires over a 6-month period. Bad move on Tire Racks' part to get rid of this - as many consumers like me can't afford the large one-time hit to our checkbooks.
That being said, keep in mind that most of the reviews on this site are negative, because people with a positive experience rarely make a review. But I have to say that my experience was stellar.
The four General Altimax RT43s were delivered to me in a days in perfect condition at a good price, and the customer service department even emailed me back very quickly when I had a question about the invoice/rebate.
I order stuff all the time from the Web and even help run an eStore through my work, so I understand good ecommerce. Tirebuyer passed admirably on all fronts.
When you ship as many tires as they do monthly, you're bound to have some hiccups. But overall, I don't think you should worry about ordering from them. Like anything else with the Internet, take bad reviews with a grain of salt. I'll go back again next time."
