"I normally go with Tire Rack. But this time, I went with Tirebuyer because they allowed me to use PayPal Credit to finance the tires over a 6-month period. Bad move on Tire Racks' part to get rid of this - as many consumers like me can't afford the large one-time hit to our checkbooks.
That being said, keep in mind that most of the reviews on this site are negative, because people with a positive experience rarely make a review. But I have to say that my experience was stellar.
The four General Altimax RT43s were delivered to me in a days in perfect condition at a good price, and the customer service department even emailed me back very quickly when I had a question about the invoice/rebate.
I order stuff all the time from the Web and even help run an eStore through my work, so I understand good ecommerce. Tirebuyer passed admirably on all fronts.
When you ship as many tires as they do monthly, you're bound to have some hiccups. But overall, I don't think you should worry about ordering from them. Like anything else with the Internet, take bad reviews with a grain of salt. I'll go back again next time."
"Ordered 4 General Grabber UHP for my Sierra Denali. Delivered within 2 days to my installer. With rebates and incentives I got $120.00 off my purchase price. Essentially paid for 3 and got 4 tires. Yes I paid tax but that's what you do when you make most online purchases now due to the proliferation of online distribution centers around the country. Slight hiccup at the installer, TB showed $70.00install price but I was charged $121.00. I didn't get into it with the installer but called tire buyer to let them work it out. They refunded the $50.00 after a couple days. I will do business with them again and recommend to friends. Thanks TB... "
"I see a lot of negative reviews, i have to believe based on my experience, they are the result of people picking very low price and low rated brands. Our the tires were not properly inspected prior to installation. I purchased 4 General Altimax RT43 tires for my 2004 DeVille DHS. The tires came to installer, in MN, in 2 days. The tires were perfect and the same as if i bought from any tire shop. The difference is the price. The place i pick to have tires delivered to install my tires actually carried the same tires, however the Tirebuyer.com price was $36.00 cheaper per tire than the place who installed them sells them for, and Tirebuyer.com was $18.00 cheaper a tire than anywhere else in my area and the free shipping saved $50.00 over what other online companies charge for same service. I am recommending Tirebuyer.com to everyone i know. Thanks for the experience and the savings."
"I wont ever do business with this place again. Terrible customer service wont respond to you. Bad product ! Bad Quality Save yourself the trouble and dont do business with this place "
"I have ordered 2 sets of 4 from tirebuyer.com your website one set of Continentals for my brothers sonata another set of Fuzion Suv tires both times was delivered day after ordered, is easy and quick had them shipped to my home hassle free and quick! Great prices and free shipping will recommend to everybody I know.
"
"Sent tires with radial pull and when I asked to return them they waited until after the 30 day return policy and will not refund my money ! Reported them to BBB they are very shady and will not work with me. I am out all the money I spent on a new set of tires . Bad for business to rip people off ! "
"sent wrong size, charges alot for return shipping and restocking. will do bait and switch and charge fees"
"After selecting the tires the work begins. Tires were going to be delivered in 5days. Checked tracking number each day and nothing was shipped. Called them on the 5day and the service person said he had never seen this before but would get them shipped from a different warehouse. So about 2 weeks after ordering the tires arrive at the tire shop. My father takes the truck down and has the tire installed then calls me saying that they charge him $104 not the $68quote on Tirebuyer. TireBuyer says you had the lifetime balance put on not the standard. Do you think they asked which mounting you want? Just a pain thru the whole process, go somewhere else. Buy from a one stop shop and save yourself a headache of dealing with these people."
"I have purchased tires on line from other companies and orders were fullfilled as promised. I found tires on Tirebuyer at a good price so I gave them a try. 3 tires were shipped as ordered. The fourth was a mis match. Ok. Not a great start. When I called, they did find and ship the matching tire, I hope as it is not here yet. Even though it was a problem on their end, they took no responsibility and refused to expidite the shipping of the missing tire. Really, they couldn't have cared less about my satisfaction. I have to reschedule my appointment for mounting and really am in dire need of new tires on my car. Will go elsewear next time."
"had my tires replace today when it arrived at my local Firestone shop and first thing that the manager told me that I've been screwed since I brought my tires from Tirebuyer.com, I said to him that I think that I got a good deal with the discount coupon code plus free shipping and he just had this insulting giggle to me. wtf??? Tirebuyer's authorized installers bad mouthing the company instead of being supportive? "
"I had no problems from start to finish. I did research to find the tires that would deliver the performance balance I need for my location. Could not get them locally, so checked on the usual Internet retailers before finding them here for $10 less per tire. In addition, I got a $20 discount code for signing up for emails.
Finding the tires was is given that I can enter the auto information or just order by size. Checkout is similar to other Internet retailers, except for the step where you select the installer. The list of nearby installers includes address and phone numbers, so it was easy to call ahead to confirm pricing (which was correct). The checkout does include an opportunity to review the order before pulling the trigger. Communication is via email and is excellent. They send an email with the order confirmation, when the tires ship, and when they are delivered to the installer. The delivery email also includes installer address and phone number as a convenience.
Shipping was amazingly fast! I ordered on Friday morning and the tires were delivered before noon the next day. The following Monday I got an appointment with Firestone for the install, they installed on time and so far things are rolling well.
After reading some other reviews I was a little weary of buying from TireBuyer. However, I noticed that most complaints are about the installer. This led me to call my installer to confirm pricing before making a purchase. The prices matched, but I will note that Firestone did not include the cost of what they call shop expenses. This is very common practice and only amounted to $3, so no surprise and no big deal. They also do not include tax in the price quote, which is also not a surprise. Do the math before ordering to arrive at an approximate cost. If you live in a state that has sales tax, expect to pay it. Budget a few dollars for miscellaneous on the install too. Also note that If you have pressure monitored tires there will be an additional per tire expense, so call before you order."
"They had the best price on the Kumho Ecsta 4X II so I went with them. I got all 4 tires and got it shipped and installed at my local Mr. Tire. No issues and I would use them again especially if they have the $40 coupon code or the free shipping deal next time."
"I bought four tires and only three were delivered. When I called tirebuyer.com I was told that the 4th was on its way and I was not reading the shipping info correctly. I had to argue with the guy and finally after he checked himself he realized the 4th tire was never shipped. I do not appreciate their customer service attitude, and will never use this company again. "
"They have great prices and in my case delivered the tires to Firestone the next day. However, I bought the tires to save money and they quoted me the price Firestone would install them - $68.00. The was not an estimate but the true cost I will pay. Well, Firestone charged $98 for installation, 50% more than what Tirebuyer.com stated. This is false advertising. Also, when you go with an internet side to buy tires, there is no guarantee by the installer. So if there is a problem with your new times, you have to collect from the internet side you buy from. Also, the installer will not rotate your tires for free since you didn't buy from them. On the positive side, my tires were in stock and delivered the next day and I did save money but how much I can't say. "
"First I had an issue with the way the order was submitted. They gave me a total and I clicked submit, then a google screen came up asking if I wanted something or other I just clicked no. The order was then submitted but they added on tax without my ok. I think they should have allowed me to review the entire price since I was comparison shopping. Fine I let the order go through. It's delivered to one of their schlock installers nearby. They specify what the charges should be from the installer when you go to order the tires. I emailed them to make sure there were no additional charges to the ones stipulated. The installer put the tires on the rims and then proceeded to charge me $21 more than the price tirebuyer quoted when I purchased them. Both of these issues are unacceptable as they are dishonest practices. They won't be getting any of my business ever again and if you're smart you will avoid these scam artists."
