I agree, entirely, with your statement that, "If fifteen minutes of easy work saves $50, what's not to like?"
But, you'd be surprised how many people still don't think to refill their own toner cartridges because they presume it won't work, take to long or not work as well as the original.
(In fact, as a business owner (and former member of the investment world... over 25 years ago I actually wore a suit and tie and carried a briefcase while taking the train to downtown Chicago!), I know firsthand that at that $50 or greater savings in 15 minutes, that's like making/EARNING $200 an hour (and there aren't too many things one can do to earn that sort of money these days, so it's not just what you make, it's what you keep and our goal is to help you keep a ton of extra money instead of handing it over to the printer manufacturers.)
My goal when I started designing our line of "RIY" (refill it yourself) toner refill kits was to make the process as easy as possible, make the print quality as good as it was when the cartridge was new and back the entire thing (the refilling process, print quality, customer service, etc.) with the best warranty of any company in any industry (and I came up with a simple, six word guarantee - "No fine print, no time limit!")
I must saw that while I know those are our goals and we do everything we can to meet those goals, I never get tired of seeing/hearing when someone takes the time to publicly say our team and our products "nailed it".

"Everything worked great. I took my time since this was the first time I ever converted/refilled a laserjet cartridge, but in the future I expect it will take 5-10 minutes. Instructions included are excellent! I had a starter cartridge and replacement cartridge to refill for a BROTHER 2270WD and forgot which was which, but was able to figure it out just from the instructions/pictures included. For future reference it may be a good idea to include in the instructions on how to differentiate between different types of cartridges, since folks usually throw out the boxes, but this is not a huge issue; as I said I figured it out just from the pictures in the instructions.
Otherwise, great job on the details of the instructions and thanks for the kit materials. Also I want to say thank you for the follow up call on my order; though it turned out there was no error, it's nice to know that folks are paying attention to potential inconsistencies with orders. Overall excellent product and service!"

Even though I knew that refilling your own toner cartridge was easy, it occurred to me that riding a bicycle is also easy... once you know how.
But, to someone who has never ridden a bicycle before (or filled your own cartridge before), if someone tries to explain to you how "easy" it is, they will look at you like you are from Pluto.
So, over ten years ago I decided that we would make the best instructions in the entire toner refill universe by making them as detailed as possible (nothing left to the imagination) as well as making them full color (with tons of pictures).
(Believe it or not, we have actually had people say our instructions are "too detailed", to which I reply, "What parts would you like us to leave out?" or "Have you ever assembled a piece of furniture from Ikea (with the stick figures, no pictures and no written words)?")
Your suggestion about making certain the instructions for the Brother HL-2270WD include pictures and descriptions explaining how to differentiate the starter cartridge (the one that came with the printer, initially) from the "real" cartridges (the ones purchased after the starter cartridge goes "toner low"), is a good one.
(We have instructions specific to the starter cartridge, included with our kit specific to the starter cartridge, and we have separate instructions for the non-starter cartridge included with our kit for those non-starter cartridges, but it never occurred to me that there might be many people in your position where they might have both and not able to easily discern the differences.)
As for the follow-up call we make before shipping the order, it has helped correct incorrect orders so many times, that, in and of itself is reason to do it.
But, in the majority of the cases where the customer did order exactly what they needed (and also this sentiment applies to people who accidentally ordered the wrong item), our desire is to sincerely convey our thanks for allowing us to supply you with your printer consumables.
Corny as it might sound, for 25 years we have been keenly aware that without all of you, there would be no "TonerRefillKits.com" us!
