"Placed order on December 31st, 2008. Heard nothing until I called them on January 7th. They told me my order would be processed that day and the figures would be shipped out the next day and I would get an email about it. I never got an email. Instead they charged my card and that was it.
I emailed them on the 12th about my order and never got a reply. I called them on the 15th to inquire and I was told my items were on backorder and would be in that Friday, the 16th. Once again I got no email that they shipped. Sent another email to them on the 19th, no reply. Called them on the 23rd and they said the figures would definitely be in that day and they would ship them that day or Monday. Monday came and went, I called them on the 28th and was told the figures would be in wednesday of next week, the 4th of February.
I called today, the 4th, and was told the items were out of stock. I asked if they expected them back in stock anytime soon and the guy said yes when their distributor in Japan got them. I asked him why I was told 3 times the figures would be in that friday and was never told initially they were on backorder. He said "I dunno, have a good day" and hung up.
I have now asked for a refund and if they do not give it by Friday then I will be doing a chargeback and reporting them to the BBB. "
"I usually find online retailers to be alright and I don't usually need to check nor leave feedback. This is an EXCEPTION. TOYS N JOYS is the WORST business I have ever done with in my life. I had ordered about 10 items, totalling about ~$150. I had received ONE t-shirt and everything else is on 'backorder'. THey charged me in full for all items, including ridiculous shipping for just one t-shirt and said the rest of the items should be available in 1-4 weeks. I wait 4 weeks and nothing. I e-mail them to cancel the rest of my order for a refund, and they reply saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I wait another 5 weeks, and nothing. So i send a second e-mail. Their reply was the EXACT same email saying itll take 1-4 weeks. I left them another email to which they probably will never respond. Never buy from this store guys!"
"Ordered on Christmas Day. I realize that holidays can delay shipping. However, this company waited 2 weeks before even processing the order much less shipping it. It was NOT a back-ordered item. Their site claims item will be shipped and received within 3-7 days. I have made several attempts to contact them to at least get a confirmed ship date. No response and no Gameboy Advance bundle. At the very least, this company should respond to e-mails. I paid immediately but they are taking their sweet, "no worries- Island Time" to complete the transaction. "Island Time" is fine if you are a local or on vacation but it is NOT O.K. if you are running a business. At the very least, they could show basic courtesy and send my order information.
I have never received a response. Poor work ethics and poor communication. Very disappointed.
I would NEVER do business with them again.
Below is an e-mail I just received from this company. After countless phone calls and e-mails with no response, I finally sent a very angry e-mail, demanding information about the status of my order. So- it took them 2 weeks to notice that the item was "out of stock or back-ordered"?
I don't think so. What I think is that this company is a front for some illegal activity.

"NEVER di busuness with this company. I placed my order online on Dec 16, 2008. They processed and got their payment on Dec 18, 2008. Sent me an email stating my items had shipped on the 18th. AS of the 25th of Dec. no items came. I started calling them on the 26th of Dec. each time I called I was placed on hold for 30 to 45 mins. They gave me a tracking number for the USPS that come to find out did not exsist at all. Again, I called daily. I told them I wanted my money back or the items. I told them I was going to file a fraud charge on them with my credit card co, and they told me to go ahead and do it, they did not care. I sent them emails and to this day they have never answered any of them. PLEASE save yourself the headaches and shop else where. "

"From far the worst e-store I know. Totally dishonest, liars, their customer service reply to about one email on… a lot etc… The first thing to know is that a refund from the States to a foreign country like mine through credit card actually takes 2-3 days max (I already received refunds from other e-store in similar location, and that never took longer, so it’s obvious that toysnjoys company intentionally slowdown the process !).
Basically, I ordered two items from them. Immediately after that, I saw that the description of one was wrong so I sent an email to the customer service (it was only a few minutes after my order) to know if they can cancel the item and corresponding shipping. Soon, a woman named Gwen replied and asked me why. I explained to her and she agreed and told me that they will only send the item I want and send a refund (quite a high amount) for the other. After that no more news during a week. The next Friday, I received an email that confirmed my order….. for BOTH items. I immediately sent another email to the customer service who never replied. I contacted the return service (the famous “Art Molina” who some of you talked with). He apologized, sent a correct invoice and confirmed that I would get a refund soon (it was in September). A bit later, I received the item (only one)… but no refund. I contacted the customer service who simply confirmed it and told me that I should get it under 7-10 days, 1 month maximum. So I waited patiently. Since after one month I still haven’t received anything, I tried to contact the customer service to have some details, but of course, they never replied. I contacted again Art Molina, but the only thing he said was that he would check that… after that nothing more, no more replies to my messages etc…I finally called their Honolulu shop. The person I talked with admitted that the refund still haven’t been processed but would make sure it would be posted during next week so I’ll receive it promptly and confirm it in an email. Since he didn’t, I contacted one more time the customer service, and they confirmed that my refund has been posted (here, we are about 2 months after the first refund “promise”).
Since on the 26th of November, I was still waiting for their refund, I finally decided to fill a complaint with B.B.B. (Better Business Bureau). I sent a last email to toysnjoys where I informed them of my decision. Whereas I usually have to wait for some days (when they reply..), I got an answer during the same day from Alex Le ! The person apologized, said he don’t know why I still haven’t received the refund. He told me that his billing service is closed the week end but if I have paypal I give my address to him and he refund me the same day. Since I've not been able to reply the same day, he finally did the refund trough credit card, and 3 days later, I had my money back ! If I didn’t read the other reviews, I’d think they really forgot my refund or something like that… but I really think the B.B.B. have a strong reputation and really can put the pressure on them and that if I didn’t do that, I would still be waiting for my refund.
I don’t know how their physical store is… but for sure, their website is not recommendable. To anyone who have problems like that with them, I really recommend to deposit a complaint at B.B.B. here :

then follow the instructions, describe your problem, desired solution etc… and inform toysnjoys of that. For the overseas buyers, don’t worry, B.B.B. can handle all requests, even from foreign countries (I’m from France). That doesn’t cost anything… and really can help a lot and speed up things
Considering the others reviews, I would only say in conclusion:
If you want a store that:
-lies about items in stock or not
-charge your card even if item is not in stock
-practically never reply to emails
-don’t know anything about consumer respect
-are “not really” quick for shipping your order
-have some huge difficulties to post a refund
Etc…
Then go to toysnjoys… otherwise avoid them!

"I have a complaint about a company operating on the internet called Toys N Joys based out of Honolulu. I ordered 2 different bags for my sons birthday. One arrived 10 days later and the other was put on backorder and then 3 weeks later the other arrived which was the same item as the first one recieved ie they sent 2 of the same things and not one of each different school bag. So i contacted them and they said to send it back priority mail and that they would send me the proper bag and pay for the postage it incurred. So i did that the very next day I paid $68 to send a bag that only costs $9.99. They said they received it 2 days later but that they dont usually pay FEDEX which was what my post office sends priority packages as. (in hindsight i should have just kept the bag and sold it on ebay but i really wanted the other bag which is so rare to find in stores).So this was September, it is now November and I am still owed $9.99 for the item and $68 for the postage. I keep emailing once a week and most of the time there is no reply I have recieved one reply which says the matter is with management and it is up to them and that sucks..I feel ripped off and cheated by these people. I just want my money back!!"
"In october I order a digimon clock and then I got a email from them that it has being back order. And I only received it in mid june. 2 weeks before I order again and I got it within a week. I dont know whats theyre deal but just be careful. Even with the prices that can be expensive. Like a pokemon figure around 6-8$. And on ebay you can get it for less."
"I ordered several collectible items, which of course were unavailable. I was charged, naturally, for the order and the shipping fee and advised, after requesting an e-mail confirm, that the items would be shipped shortly through the New York store although it was becomming apparent to me they didn't have the items and wouldn't get them). Of course, that was some two weeks ago.. A call to their Honolulu store (on my own nickle) asking about the status was rudely answered by the response, "so you want to cancel the order and get a refund?" At that point, I was so ticked off that I said yes. Of course, that was followed (amazing how quickly this one came), by an e-mail notifying me that since I had cancelled the order I could expect a refund in 1 to 4 weeks. Being seriously ticked off at that point, I have now filed a complaint with the Hawaii AG. This company is so bogus and lies so much, I'll be lucky if I ever see my money refunded. The absolute worst company to ever deal with. Don't do it!
As a postscript - I notified them that I would be contacting the Hawaii AG's office. To that I got the response "do it, so I can go head to head with them" Should tell you all you need to know. "
"This was the most terrible site I've ever dealt with. I ordered Feb. 29, and received a confirmation that same day the item was out-of-stock and would be shipped shortly. By March 20, I then called them and they said they were still waiting for their order. I waited. "Recently, I had made an order with this company for a video game and a controller. Like many people, I was tricked into believing they had said items in stock when they really did not.
At first when I noticed this store, it seemed like a dream come true. Immediately without thinking twice, I made my order since the items I coveted were normally difficult to find. However, after going over a week without hearing from them I decided to look into some reviews on them, and upon finding this site I wished I had done so sooner. I prayed my experience would be different than most people's, since there were a few good reviews. However, I did not receive my items for weeks, and they ignored my emails questioning the status of my order.
Finally, without notice a few weeks later, half of my order arrived in the mail. I was very displeased however to find that the item I was promised would be new and unused was in fact used, and not in the finest quality (it had quite the smell to it as well.) I was told that the second part of my order would send in a few weeks, but fearing the worst I tried to cancel my order.
I found that my credit card had been charged the full price for both the game and the controller, when only half of the order sent (long before I emailed about the cancellation as well.) Soon after, I received an email saying my order was shipped (completely ignoring my request to have it canceled) and a few days later my controller had arrived, though the box was slightly beat up probably from having been carelessly packaged. The controller inside was alright though, and it appeared to be in new condition. The next day I received a final email saying that I could not cancel my order because it had already been shipped. Ridiculous.
Overall the whole process took about a month and was incredibly stressful. I probably should have sent back the used game that I payed so much for believing it to be new, but I was sick of dealing with them. I feel as though my experience wasn't even the worst, but having been tricked is enough to make me never want to shop from this site again.
If you are willing to take the risk and deal with the headaches this store can cause, then go ahead. Though I must say, you're better off taking a risk on eBay than this place. "
"This was the worst experience I have had with any online store ever. First, they lied on their website about the product being stocked and then they put it on backorder for almost four months.
I made efforts by phone and e-mail on a weekly basis to figure out what was going on but they gave me the same answer "This item it sout of print and hard to locate, we'll keep an eye out for it."
Why did they say they had it "in stock" on their web-site then?
Once they even lied to me and told me that the item had shipped and that I should expect it within the week. Needless to say, it never showed up. It then took about a month for me to get my money back and judging from the rest of the reviews for this store, I was lucky.
I had to file a dispute with my bank in order to get a refund of any sort.
