"I won a laptop back on August 30th, paid right away, was checking the website to find out when will it ship, on September 15th it showed as cancelled?! no reason, my credit card got refunded, so I tried to call the customer services in Itasca, IL - I was 17th in line, so it literally took an hour to speak with customer service rep who with no apology told me that they are creating more auctions that they have items in stock and the laptop that I won they don't have and wont ship! no sorry, no thank you no kiss my a**! additionally, I won laptop for $453, at the end of auction they added tax of 11.5%, transaction fee of $9.99 and shipping fee so my $453 laptop came to $537 - RIP OFF! IGNORE ALL UBID!!!! I would have been waiting months for laptop which will never arrive and ubid keeps on sending me email till today's date to buy warranty for the laptop i bought!"

I kept on checking the status of my shipment and saw a notice that the vendor was researching the shipping costs and my credit card would not be charged until he was finished with his research. Two days passed and Ubid cancelled my order. It is obvious that the vendor did not want to sell his product at the price that my bid came in at. To get out of it he held up on shipping the unit so that Ubid would cancel me out. This is an example of a scam that ubid participates in."
"Seller and small business people: Be careful of this website. Do not sign up to sell with them. They drag you down and not pay you for the goods you post on their website. They've cheated us of more than $8,300 and refused to pay. They even pretended that they are not the same compnay now.
We used to sell computers and electronics on their website for thousands of dolalrs. They topped paying us and when we called over & over, they kept encouraging us to post more items and that they have a temporary problem but they'll pay us later. There was no later and we ended $8,300 in the hole.

"I recently purchased a second computer from this site. My first transaction with the company had been good, and the computer I purchased worked great for several years before finally giving out. Due to this, I decided to get my next computer from them. What a mistake!
First, the hard drive was not the size advertised; I was gypped 20GB of space. Minor issue, but a major annoyance. Customer Service was less than responsive and downright evasive when they did respond.
Second, as I was fighting with them via email about the hard drive space, the keyboard started acting strangely. I mentioned the issue to them and they wanted me to return the computer for replacement by the seller - whom they NEVER let me contact directly for some troubleshooting (since the idiots I dealt with via email and phone have ZERO knowledge about computer troubleshooting). The way they acted on the phone, I started to wonder if they were hiding something.
Explaining that I no longer have a working computer and NEED the computer in my possession, they continued to try to get it back. Finally, a few weeks ago, they said the seller agreed to send me a new hard drive if I was able to replace it myself. I responded that I could and never heard from them. Just Monday, I sent my THIRD email asking for some type of response/update on the matter and they again are back to wanting me to return the danged thing for an issue that is easily resolved by just sending me the right hard drive!! (I had fixed the keyboard issue on my own)
After this transaction, I will NEVER buy from this company again. It's sad, because they have great deals, but this last interaction has me so angry, it's killed any goodwill I had toward them.

"Have been a long time customer of uBid, spending a couple thousand dollars over a 10-12 year period.
Recently, I decided to buy some mp3 players as gifts, and found some at uBid.com with low opening bid prices. I won four of these units, in separate auctions, all at the opening bid price, because nobody bid against me.
uBid confirmed I had won, and later sent me USPS tracking numbers. But, it turns out they never mailed the items, they just issued the tracking numbers. When I complained that I had not received them, they just ignored me. It took many repeated attempts before they would even respond, and then they said they would just issue a credit.
This is NOT acceptable. They cannot cancel a contract just because I won at the opening bid price.
They obviously have more in stock, as they put several of these units up for auction every single day.
As I see it, the only option I have left is to file four complaints with the Federal Trade Commission. At least I will have the satisfaction of knowing it will cost them hundreds of times as much in legal fees to respond to those complaints, as what they are trying to cheat me - a long-time loyal customer - out of.
Obviously, I will NEVER buy from them again, and would advise others to STAY AWAY FROM UBID.COM. They are NOT honest, and do not even respond to customer complaints!"
