"I placed this order for $862, and later had to cancel. After speaking to Customer Service (which takes a while of waiting on hold), they canceled for me, although I never received confirmation of it as promised. The NEXT DAY, I was charged for this item. After giving several days, I called and was told that due to using PayPal, I automatically was charged, and the person who canceled my order wasn't knowledgeable of this, and that it would now be taken care of.

It has now been over a week later, and two weeks since I was charged for something that was already canceled, and I have yet to see a refund.

I am very dissatisfied with US1Camera customer service - there's absolutely no reason they should have $862 of my money, especially since I wasn't charged until AFTER I CANCELED. I'm sure if everything were to go perfectly, they're fine to deal with, but if you have the possibility of cancellation, or are at all concerned you may have to return any items, they have not shown me ,via experience and other's reviews, to be trustworthy and at all concerned with your money and their customer service.

"This was my first time purchasing from US1photo.com, at first i was skeptical because of some so-so reviews on here, but now im sold on this company, i shopped around for a nikon d60 and they had the best price, i ordered my camera, and waited for them to ship it to me, i did have to call to confirm my order, and they did try to push some sales on me over the phone, but i wasnt buying and they confirmed the order, and hung up. I called once more the week after to upgrade my shipping option since i needed it sooner than expected, and the customer service people were no problem, i paid for 3 day air, and they gave me 2nd day, now thats good service. I would highly recommend buying from these guys again, your in good hands."

"US1Camera is one of the finest online companies I have ever dealt with. I received my camera within days. There was a slight problem with the camera (although I'm not convinced that it wasn't simply an "operator problem". I called and they couldn't have been nicer or more prompt about a replacement.(again, within days I rec'd a replacement) I will NEVER go to any other company for my cameras or whatever else they sell that I may need or want! In my opinion, you cannot find a better company more attentive to the customer's needs and concerns. Furthermore, I LOVE MY SONY a700!"

"UPDATE: Wednesday, September 17th -

"Thomas" from US1Photo called me and apologized for the late shipment of my Canon HV30. He explained that the Labor Day orders were large and the backup created the late shipping dates. He said the company would give me a full refund for the shipping ($24.70) because of that fact.

In my experience, it' pretty impressive for a small company to take the time to call and explain a problem AND then give a full refund for that specific problem. Time and money spent for the customer? Very impressive.

I now must retract the statement that I wouldn't purchase from US1Photo again. Thanks US1Photo for following up. You'll be on my list of online sellers from now on!

I normally order my electronics from well-known outlets such as NewEgg and B&H Photo. Will US1Photo make the trusted list or not? We shall see, but I will post as the experience is played out.

Friday, August 28, 9:30 AM (CST)-

I ordered the Canon HV30 online and placed a call immediately after to assure myself that the order was received. "Bruce" assured me that my order was received and that the product was new and in package by manufacturer.

Monday, September 1st, 10:30 AM (CST) -

(They note that they are open on Labor Day [today], but only on the product page I've bookmarked... strange it's not on the homepage.)

I will update on when the order is shipped. I chose to use the "4-6 Business Day Ground" shipping method, which costs $24.70 ...does this make much difference? Probably not.

Currently, my order is in the "ready to be shipped" state in my order status page.

Wednesday, September 3rd, 12:00 PM -

Order is still in "ready to be shipped" mode. I wonder why it's taking so long for shipment since the processsing of the order is done?
Is it because they are a smaller reseller they need to build up enough orders to send out?

Monday, September 8th, 4:00 PM -

The package was "shipped" on Friday Sept 5th. I had sent an email asking about the 4-6 business ground shipping which I had paid ($24.70). The response from "Shawn" was as follows:

"... When you place any Ground orders it takes 2-4 days to process then it will be shipped and you will received it within 4-6 days that you ordered it. ..."

Well, that didn't quite happen. Tracking states that I'll receive my package tomorrow...
...eight days after my order was placed. Two days late. Time is money to me and two days is far overdue.

I'm sure this happens, but for those needing their equipment ON TIME it can be a bit disappointing when it doesn't arrive in the time stated by customer service.

This has never happened with other outlets I've used, so I won't be using US1Photo/US1Camera again. It's not worth the wait or the worry, in my opinion. (SEE UPDATE AT THE TOP OF THIS REVIEW)

"Ordered Canon 5D July 23. Shipped from US1 July 29. I was told it would take about a week to ship. Received it Aug 3 but box was pretty severely damaged.Called US1 talked to Shawn and he said open it and see if it was damaged. IF it was they would send another one. He was very polite. I told him I preferred to return it unopened. He said that was fine. Took it to UPS and told them i was refusing the package because of damage to box. To be honest I was paranoid about US1. They received the package back on Aug 8 according to UPS tracking. It still had the same tracking number. 21 days later I received creit except for $39.99. Order was $1739.99 and they credited me $1700. Their return policy states no restocking fee if unopened.I'm just turning it over to my credit card as a dispute. I was hoping they would give me a quick credit and US1 camera was a reputable company. I had hopes of buying the should be coming soon replacement for Canon 5D. I'm not satisfied and will not be buying from them again."

"I'd recommend buying from this store. I recently bought a Nikon D60 package at a reasonable price. I was slightly uncomfortable with their somewhat manual ordering system, where you have to attach a note with your shipping requirements, but I received my package in a timely manner. US1camera was very good at providing tracking emails and at being generally accessible via customer service. The upsell at the initial verification call is a little irritating but the customer representative was very understanding when I declined the offer and didn't push too hard, which I appreciated. On the whole, I'm really quite happy with the store."

"This is my first SLR camera and I was worried about ordering online. I ordered a canon rebel xsi kit. It arrived about 10 days later in excellent, brand new condition. Someone did call me a few days after I placed the order to confirm my order and to offer an extended warranty and sd card. I declined the warranty and I already had a sd card. I was later emailed a tracking number and the package arrived on time. I'm really happy with my camera. I would definitely repurchase from this company in the future. Now, if they could just ship me a professional photographer to help me with my pictures, then everything would be perfect."
