"I was very pleased with the selection and prices at this reseller's web site. I was also very pleased with the job the performed on configuring my system to my specifications. They even configured the Raid 0 drives correctly. However, my experience was not totally without problems. The web site indicated my order would take up to 5 days to process and burn in the new PC. In reality, it was shipped 13 days from my order date. All in all, I would probably buy from this company again due to their selection, configurator (ie. ability to configure a mid-to-high end system w/o components I already have) and low prices. I do warn you that if you want your product immedately, you may want to shop elsewhere."
"Keep very far away from these clowns. I ordered a mb/cpu combo deal on sunday.....monday a verification was received. Supposed to be 1-2 days on parts. Late thursday called for verification of order......told it was going to ship that day.....later that night called again to verify shipment.....was told mb was not in stock.....when asked why they didnt contact me seeing how they had my phone and email address the so called customer service agent refused to comment. Do yourself a HUGE favor and stay away from this outfit."

"I ordered a 19" Monitor from these people on Monday the 16th. I received an email from them saying my order was accepted for verification and that it would ship in 1-2 days. Then somebody calls me this past saturday (the 21st) and tells me that shipping on the monitor will be $35 and not $25. First of all, if they quoted and confirmed me the wrong shipping price, they should eat the difference. Second of all, my monitor obviously took a hell of a lot longer than 1-2 days to process, if somebody was calling me on a saturday to tell me it couldn't be shipped. I will NEVER do business with these people again. I needed that monitor here this coming week, not the week after because United Micro was too bloody incompetent to quote the correct prices or be prompt with my order."
"I had a very positive experience with United Micro with both systems I have had them assemble. Both were for home use and nothing too out of the ordinary.
My first was a system on a budget since I was still in school. Everything arrived on time, and everything worked properly so there was no real need for tech support.
My second experience was ordering a computer for my girlfriend. Once again, everything was configured accurately and to my specification.
Recently, it seems their selection of RAM and other parts has dwindled a bit in their "BareBones" section. Outside of that, I've had nothing but success with UM."
"It has been 7 days since I requested a refund form them, and have yet not received it. They attempted to replace my ordered motherboard with a lesser replacement, I initially said yes ( I was in a hurry) then called them back less than 2 hours later and said no, and cancelled my order completely. They promised to refund me immediately, but would not provide any information or confirmation that it was complete. Well I have still yet to recieve my refund. If you use Pricewatch to purchase from them, read their ads carefully.. as I did more research I found that they have very misleading comments about their products, and out of all honesty, their prices are not that great. I chose them because of their nearness to me and their (supposed) in stock availabilty of the product. And if you do order, and call them, make sure you dont have anything to do for a few hours, cause the hold times are ridiculous. I understand in a small business that you cant always get to every call immediately, but the times I had to wait were ridiculous for what i was trying to get resolved."
"100% Satisfied Customer! Ordered on Friday before Labor Day and recieved MB/CPU/Case barebones assembled/tested 6 days later on Thursday.
All parts where in Mint/NEW condition as best I can tell, no problems with setting up rest of my parts on pc. Very happy to see they installed all the connectors and such.
I dealt with a Salesguy name Andrei, he came across sorta rushed. However he gets thumbs up for detailing the test/burn process and the EXACT delivery day."

"I have to say that up until recently I had had no problems with United Micro. I have been ordering from them for some time.
Then starting about 6 months ago I began having a rash of problems with receiving incorrect orders, orders missing items, overcharging for items,etc.
The final straw came with this last order; I had ordered a dual-Xeon rackmount server from them and requested that it be built and burned in before shipping to make sure that all of the components were good before I received them. I was assured that this was the standard procedure for server builds.
When I received the order, not only had it not been burned in, the parts hadn't even been unboxed from their OEM packaging.
Upon building the system (I am a professional tech, so I know how to safely build system, taking into account static discharge, etc), I realized I had one bad CPU.
To add insult to injury, since more than 7 days had elapsed since the invoice date and the date I actually was able to build the system and discover the failed component, they were unwilling to swap the failed cpu for a replacement. In fact it took repeated phone calls and emails before I was even able to get in touch with a tech.
I've since been able to RMA the bad cpu with Intel, but to have done so much business with UM and receive this kind of support is not acceptible. They have lost our business."
"I have been reading some of the negative comments about United Micro, and I will say that with my experience with the company, I have to disagree with these negative reviews. I purchased a computer from United Micro nearly two years ago, and I have had no problems with the computer. When I ordered the computer from United Micro, the salesman I talked to was nice and knowledgeable. I would order another computer from them in a heartbeat. Maybe the problem is with the people who have negative things to say about the company. I give United Micro a 10."
"I ordered a case motherboard two hard drives and a copy of windows xp pro. The motherboard supports raid 0 and I requested that the system be configured that way. I received the system, added the additional components that I had here and it would not boot. Upon reading the enclosed documentation, I learned that the hard drives had been installed incorectly. I was unable to configure them myself, and emailed them for tech support. The answer I received basicaly said that it was configured correctly and working (the os loaded and bootin) when it left there. There must be some sort of hardware failure. I asked for more information, and never received another responce.
I was forced to take the system to a local vendor for repair. They did indeed confirm that the system was configured incorrectly and fixed the problem along with charging me 85.00 (a bargin by my standards).
I contacted united Micro and relayed all this information and asked for their position before I rated them here. I wanted to give them an opportuntity to respond. To date I have received no responce.
I would not buy from this company again. Extremely Poor customer service."
"Ordered a motherboard and processor combo. Had a bit of a problem with a few customer reps just not knowing what was happening (they kept saying it would ship but mobo wasnt even in stock even though their system said it was), until I got united micros ray of light IGOR, contorary to the previous poster about Igor I found him courtious and willing to help, he found out for me that mobo was not in stock and that it would poss be in same day and to call him back which I did later and he notified me that it had arrived and I could call next day am for tracking number (which I did not need to do as I was emailed the tracking number within an hour).
This was a replacement for a system that burnt out so when I got it I found out my ram was dead, called their tech support and was told it needed specific ram (I had bought cheap generic name (not cheap price though) locally). So bought Ram online waited and received it couple of days ago, guess what...it DID need specific ram well done tech support, machine has been working flawlessly so far (still working on system as am putting on dual boot of 98 and XP). I would order from them again, maybe, and if I do make sure I deal with Igor."
"I ordered a fairly high-end unit AMD 1800 on MSI Raid MoBo thru bare bones config. Everything pretty much went as planned. I even changed my hard drive manufacture on the phone later. Machine received in fairly good time taking into consideration the holiday on the fourth. Opened up case all in order and unit running great also packed very well. The only problem I encountered was they took the funds from my bank in 1 day after my order but took 11 days to credit me for a View sonic F/P monitor that was not in stock that I canceled. In addition, no one mention that the product was out of stock and would not be shipped. All and all-good deal I was worried after reading the posts on this company. Company needs to get there credit system in better order but other than that I will try them again. Overall, good price on everything I purchased and machine is screaming. "
"I recently purchased a bare bones (AMD XP1700+) from them at the Peter Trapp Show. I ordered an Asus mobo, as well as 2 512Megs DDRAM chips. WEll, when I took my computer home that afternoon, I found that it only had 1 512Meg chip it in. After emailing them, they told me to call support. So, I called support a couple days later and dealt with a gentleman(sorry, can't remember his name). I gave him the order info and the order date and explained what happened. We talked for awhile about why I didn't open it at the show because they were swamped with business, and how 1 RAM chip could have made it past the installer.
Well, he took down my info and said he would talk to the installer and the salesmen who were at the show. After about a week, I got the extra RAM chip in the mail!!!
Even though it was their word versus mine, I still believe that this did not happen on purpose, and I would recommend these guys to other users. I've never bought anything online from this company, but I can say that I did get the RAM chip in the mail exactly 1 week after talking to the phone support guy. Overall thumbs up to these guys!!!!"

Ordered a Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Platinum from these people which their website said was IN STOCK. After having the confirmation email saying that the order was accepted I didn't hear anything for a week. I called them and they told me they would not be getting any in?!?! Why didn't they call and tell me that a week ago!? Were they just going to sit on it until I called??? I wasted a week and no sound card. I won't order from them again.
