Pleased as punch

"I was a little dubious about purchasing from ValueBasket after reading all the negative reviews online, this was further exacerbated when I sent them a pre-purchase inquiry which was not answered. After a second inquiry they responded apologizing that I did not receive a response when in fact they had replied. The tablet turned up within their anticipated time frame, approximately 10 days. Would use again."

"Took long to post any not very helpful when I called customer service...Very bad online store and my phone still has not been posted yet.

So it's been a week since I cancelled my order because even after I gave them more time to ship, it still wasn't processed. Now I'm fighting to get my money back. I even received an email from them stating that it normally takes about 7 days to reflect, I just called now to check the status and was just informed that my refund hasn't even been started yet.

This is seriously my worst online experience to date.

Worth the cheaper prices, but not for goods needing local support

"The prices are some of the best I have seen.
In my case I need a manufacturers warranty for a GPS watch being used for ocean paddling

In my case had I purchased the value basket item, each time I needed to warranty claim it would take me 1-2 months to do via Hong Kong

First and Last Time!!

"If I could give a NO STAR rating, I would have. Placed a substantial order middle of Jan which I cancelled about 3 weeks later because couldn't get a guarantee of delivery any time soon. Cut a long story short.....after numerous status checks on their website and couple of phone calls, finally received my purchase price back but MINUS the delivery fee I paid for non delivery. So fed up with them I haven't the energy to pursue the $35 fee.

Not ready for Prime Time

"After being enticed by a spectacular price and the promise of a 2-5 day ship of goods for a great Olympus lens I began the order process. Even though the website has icons for several CC options you are always shoved into PayPal's not so loving arms. Another story but PP is not for me. They do allow bank transfers and also CC over the phone which is the option I took. That went smooth enough.
Ordered on 3/10. Email notices of problems and delays started after 4 days. First I had to send them a utility bill to prove it was me ( freaking stupid since they already took my money according to the my Visa CC statement and they used verify by Visa). That seemed like a stall tactic but they responsed soon enough saying that I passed the verification process, whew. Then after a call to Cust Service they told me it would be 5-8 days processing. I was getting concerned now. I checked on-line order status and 3 days ago it changed from "being processed" to "in queue for dispatch". Stayed there until today 3/24, when it changed to "We are experiencing a slight backlog at this time but anticipate dispatch in the coming days. Thank you for your patience.". I called again to get any details. All they could say was maybe next week. So, I canceled the order. Refund in 5-7 business days, We'll see how that all goes.

Sorry, but in this day and age there is no excuse for a company to have such terrible processing and service. They did have a great price for the item and all the reps I talked to were very patient and courteous but this less than average experience on the front end caused me concern. That coupled with having read many other bad reviews dealing also with problems after delivery, I though it best to just pay a bit more (a lot more even) and get a great product from a reputable company.

My wife thinks I should have waited them out but I just could not. They never had any facts just excuses and apologies. Maybe they will be better but my guess is they will have to raise prices to pay for a stronger front end to the business.

Should have seen those reviews before ordering ...

"Bought a phone at Valuebasket. After some time it arrived and I was happy. Couple of months later the phone was not working properly anymore and looking on Google suggested that the reason was a known hardware defect. Contacted Valuebasket. It took about a month back and forth until they sent me an address to which I had to send in the phone.

Did that. Added a printout of the description of the problem and all other details to identify me and my phone. Sent it by German Post (DHL) in a way that is traceable. But as I do always ... I never keep this piece of paper that allows me to trace back postal sendings ... at least not indefinitly - because so far never ever I had to proof to a company that I had send something back.

Figured that if DHL can not deliver the package then they will just send it back to me ... since my address was nicely written on the package and also in the material inside it. Has happened before that a package was not deliverable and DHL always sent it back to me.

So, since I did not get anything back I am quite certain that it has arrived at the intendet address (Valuebaskets collecting point in the UK). Since I made it traceable - no one of DHL will just keep it for him- or herself.

Now after (almost) 3 months, Valuebaskets support still tells me they still wait for it. Of course I can not provide them with my tracking number ... because I do not have it anymore. Oh, they don't really say/write they wait for it ... they say I need to provide the packages tracking number so that they can find it (at least this is what I understand from the poor English).

Anyway, almost automated responses - I am wondering how bad logistics on the other side can be not to be able to associate a return package with provided name and customer number and all information for return they requested to properly handle it.

It is not so much the money for the phone that is annoying ... it is more that I spent already far more time communicating with an "automated answering support" than the phone is worth.

Problem when I ordered from them was that a competitor didnt have the phone. But next time I will pick a different phone right from the start - because what takes 4 months with Valuebasket and finally results in a complete loss of the product ... takes 48 hours with my favorite online store ... and no loss in product.

Dear Valuebasket. If you as a company are unable to match my Name and order number (which is clearly printed on a nice piece of white paper and packaged along with my phone and sent to exactly the address you provided me with) to my name and my order number and also my phone (which just so that you understand - was in the same package as this nice piece of paper) ... then I believe you simply should not be in the mailing-selling business - or at least considerably review your own internal processes which seem quite faulty. It is nice that so far no other internet shop I bought from has these issues that you seem to have ... because typically I do not need to spend countless hours in ensuring that stuff arrives at the address the seller provided me with and wait for months. I simply send it back and get my money back if the stuff is faulty.

Since the phone anyway had a hardware bug and you as a company seem unable to handle such issues - I give you my phone for free - as a present - please enjoy it or Just sell it or get the money back from the manufacturer and invest the 500 Euro in the improvement of your business processes, since even only 500 euro would probably make a tremendous difference, given the state these processes seem to be in at this point in time.

PS: Oh, and please do not bother me with any other responses to this review ... seems that any of your responses just demonstrate your incompetence even more ... which company needs a tracking number to be able to associate a package to a customer when this company already requested a lot of details to be included inside the package (name, order number, etc.). Do you also want to know the name of the DHL person who delivered it or the registration plate number of the car that was used for delivery or the time of day, the overcast level of the sky or the temperature at midnight the day of delivery? Thanks but no thanks ... never again with valuebasket!

"I didn't see all the bad reviews about this company till after I made my purchase but... Bought some high dollar IEM's and they came just as advertised (brand new) in the box with all the accessories just like they should and a hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere. They sound incredible! Delivery was handled in a timely fashion, my order was filled quickly so... Yeah, I'm 100% satisfied. I don't know what to say about all the bad reviews¯\_(?)_/¯ if they've messed up in the past maybe they're trying to do better now because my experience was great. "

Concerning and disappointing

"Very poor customer service around significantly faulty product. Only offering repair or depreciated refund on brand new product despite it being faulty from when first received. Despite paying just under AU $2000 on a brand new product (Microsoft surface Pro 4) which has never worked appropriately and is now not even starting up consistently, Value Basket are stating I cannot have a replacement or refund as I have requested even though product is less than 1 month old. They are offering only repair and if this is not possible a depreciated refund. Contact has been difficult and a very disappointing offer for resolution."
