"Initially wanted to buy a Galaxy S 3 phone from Value Basket, as price in New Zealand was ok. I read some reviews, which were very widely differing between Terrible and wonderful. SO I decided to risk it and ordered. My credit card was debited immediately, but no information was available on the value basket website about the delivery status of my phone. I then tried to call the support number, where for more than an hour nobody picked up. I finally got to speak to an indian lady, who told me that express delivery is not available and that as soon as the phone is shipped to me, I would receive an email. It is now more than 2 weeks later, no email was ever received about shipping, and I need my new phone desparately, as my old one broke. SO I emailed the support email address for help. I receive an email stating that for my order no express delivery is available. Nobody wanted to commit to telling me when I will receive my items. After I wrote another email, I was now told about delays in shipping my order. Still, no dtae was given. I then emailed saying, that if I dont receive my paid goods by end of the week, I will cancel the order. AGain, I received an email, where all of a sudden I was now offered express delivery, but goods are still delayed. Again, I was left with NO useful information as to when my phone will be delivered. Now its another week later, I cancelled my order and asked for a refund, nobody in valuebasket would even do me the courtesy of acknowleding my emails or demands for refund. The only thing I receive from them are endless invitations to fill out their online survey about their support quality, which is obviously abyssmal.
I am now completely fed up and if I do not receive my refund quickly, will refer the case to the UK trade commission and law enforcement agencies here in New Zealand.
A very bad - if not worse - company. WOuld never deal with them again."

I ordered a motorola defy+ sim free/unlocked cell phone and screen protector. The order process was also very good with email confirmations and tracking updates. delivery took 10 days from order date. Order process . 6 outof 10
The phone box was tossed into a large bubble envelope a little inadequit i thought. The phone was Ok though. The phone was the model that i ordered but it was a network locked telstra phone (australia) not the unlocked version ordered. delivery 3 out of 10
I rang customer support and convied my issues to a very responsive rep who told me that they would have to send me a replacement and that she would send an email with instructions on what i needed to do. I waited 2days but got no email. I emailed a follow up request to fix my problem. Another two days I got a response with instructions to fill out a returned item form and an address in Australia to send the phone back to at my cost. Also included in the email was a restocking fee scale of charges for various items in the package as well as its condition. Considering that I had opened the phone and removed the factory screen cover and applied the accesory screen cover I purchased I could potentially be charged 25% restocking fee!
Delivery and item 1 out of 10.
The customer support part of valuebasket dosnt much the slick web site-order process. I would go as far as saying that it was no help at all, useless.
Would I use the site again? Probably not.

As you (value basket customer support) where no help I had to organise the unlocking of the telstra cell phone you sent me.
First I tried www.unlock-your-phones.com but they are a scam site who first take details of the phone and say they can supply a unlock code but as soon as you pay, they cant and offer the use of software cracks which i wasnt prepared to use. Then I rang Telsta (Australia. I live in New Zealand)to see if they could/would supply an unlock code. They did. Telsra you rock. Super helpful. So my phone is now unlocked.
The only contact from Value basket was the comment to this review. They should ring Telstra and get some tips . "
"This is a fraud website. I called them to check on my order and he transferred me to customer service which does not exist. I called again 5 times and no answer. They knew my number hence they did not call. I called my Visa card to take back the money so they did. Now these a..holes have 45 days to respond. Stay away from these tugs from UK. I warned you."

Initially I was a little skeptical because the local telephone number in Auckland wasn't answered and the FAQ section wasn't complete on their website. The price was amazing so I went for it. Well it was delivered this morning [they upgraded my freight time] and I was very impressed. There was no extra duties or taxes to pay like some had suggested. The delivery time out of HK on to my desk in Oratia, Auckland was 7 days. So great result and I will use them again. Charlie"

"I placed an order for an expensive AV Receiver so was slightly nervous that this product would actually arrive or even be sent from HK. But arrive it did and in 10 days which is not too bad. I always received replies from customer service within 24-36 hours. This is a genuine trading company offering very low cost.
However there are some potential trade off's
1. delivery time and
2. warrantee.
My receiver has had the serial number removed from the back of the unit and there is no other copy. I am somewhat concerned that if I ever need to get the unit repaired there could be some issue, not to mention tracking or validation of ownership for legal or re-sale purposes. I do have a sales invoice, nevertheless, it is indeed a very grey import. Still worth it though, considering the cost benefits over buying anywhere else in NZ."
