Hidden fees, deceptive purchasing process

"I bought three seats that were advertised at $82 each. When I checked out, the total amount somehow magically morphed into a $318 total price. Whoa! Upon looking at my receipt, I couldn't find ANY detail of the total fees charged. Nothing. I contacted customer service and they exclaimed that the extra fees for service and deliver (electronic download!) amounted to $33 PER TICKET! They also claimed this was shown to me during the checkout process. I don't believe it was, and if so, it was small and hidden. Then they fell back on the "You checked the I Agree" box.

The one positive thing I can say is that they answered my emails quickly, even if it was to politely tell me "tough luck, buddy."

Sheesh. This company is shady and deceptive. Buy your tickets somewhere else.

Had trouble online but customer service was great

"The website was easy to navigate, but for whatever reason, my credit card was having issues. I called customer service and got through to a representative right away. Monique was very helpful and was able to process my order. She repeated the order a few times, to make sure I was ordering exactly what was intended. My tickets were emailed to me immediately afterward."

"I tried to buy tickets online but it gave me issues with my billing address on my card. Called in and Ross helped me buy the tickets using the same billing address. Didn't have any hassle on the call in went straight through the first time after trying multiple times online. FYI better price then stubhub "

Downgrade and classed it as upgrade

"I recently purchased seats for the Nutcracker at the David Koch theatre, third ring, section a-e. When the tickets arrived they where for the third ring but section AA. This section is a cheaper section to buy on vivid seats and the theatre itself values them at a discount from what I originally purchased. The service agent said they can upgrade you and this was considered an upgrade although it was a side view and two sections from the middle of the theatre which I purchased. When I explained these tickets were a downgrade she said it was an upgrade and they reserve the right to upgrade. After going around in circles she couldn’t grasp basics of ticket pricing, better seats cost more and she said she was dealing with industry stadards in mind. She then ended the phone call. Vivid seats are con artists and I would not purchase anything from them again. "

High Processing Fees Raise Total Cost by 25%

"BEWARE OF VERY HIGH PROCESSING FEES! I just ordered tickets for Hamilton and found good tickets on Vivid Seats website for about $20 less than other online agents. I ordered them and didn't find out until AFTER submitting final payment that my processing fees were nearly $200 for just 2 tickets. The processing fee breakdown information is poorly displayed, only on the last page of the checkout process. It is displayed in the upper right hand corner of the last page, and you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page (in which the breakdown of the fees disappears from the screen) to accept terms and conditions and finalize your order. In addition to it being not easily displayed, Vivid Seat's processing fees are nearly double that of their other online competitors. I should have just paid $20 extra on other sites for the same tickets -- would have been money ahead. "
