"My Wirefly experience has been poor. I ordered a small (12")micreo USB adaptor cable on 4/21/12. I received notice that it was shipped on Monday, 4/21 and I thought...this is great service...it was shipped right out. However, I still don't have the cable! The cable weighs about 4 ounces and the shipment originated in Maryland. It should have taken just 2-3 days to reach me. However, Wirefly uses some convoluted shipping system with both FedEx and the USPS. The package started with FedEx in Beltsville, MD, then went to Hagerstown, MD, then to Martinsburg, WVA and then was handed off to the USPS in Clinton, PA. From the last tracking info available, it is in Clinton, PA. If this small item had been sent via regular US Postal Service, I would have had it by Wednesday or Thursday. It is now Sunday morning, and I don't have the item. Wirefly management needs to take a hard look at their shipping process for small packages. "
"This is my second time buying a phone from Wirefly and again I wasn't disappointed. The free shipping took the same time as the 2 day std. I am very satisfy and when my contract ends up gonna use Wirefky again."
"It was fast and easy! I got my new phone the next day at a better price than the Verizon store down the street."
"Is real good sevices i'm happy becus the praces is shiper"
"My order of new phones was shipped and arrived as they promised. I paid the amount shown online and charged exactly that.
Then, I was supposed to be receiving a redemption code for Verizon Wireless Gift card (when you send in your old basic phone). Per the gift card instruction, I upgraded from a basic phone to smart phone; activated my new smart phone within the promotion period. I am a current Verizon customer, and signed a new 2-yr contract extension. But I never received my redemption code. I contacted Verizon Wireless customer service, but they told me since I bought my phone form a third party (i.e. Wirefly), I would have to contact Wirefly. So, I called the Wirefly customer service. The customer rep was courteous, and they told me that "we'll escalate the issue, and please wait 24-48 hours." I waited 48 hours (business days, not calendar days). Second time I called (different customer service rep), he told me to wait another 12 hours. So, the next day (24 hours later), I called again. Another customer service rep told me to wait for 12 hours again, and I waited. I called the again, but I could not get through the customer service for some reason. So, I logged onto "whereismyorder.com" and chose to "chat" with the customer service. My frustration level is already pretty high.
Chat customer service rep (his name was Manoj) first told me to wait another 12 hours. I expressed my concern of being postponed every single time I inquire about my status (after waiting the hours I was told to). Then he said I am required to call Verizon Wireless. I told him that I've already done that. Then, he tells me it would take 14 days (yes, 14 days!!!) to get an answer. He changed his story from waiting 12 hours to contacting Verizon directly, and now he tells me to wait 14 days! What a joke!!! I told him that I want to file a complaint, and he gave me the number for higher management ***-***-****). I called this number, and it is a bogus number!! All I get is some kind of pre-recorded message, and there is no way you can talk to someone or leave a message. It's not even an automated system.
I bet, when I wait 14 days and call them again, they'll still come up with some lame excuse and tell me I wasn't eligible after all or some nonsense like that. I am extremely dissapointed at Wirefly because they are not honoring what they promoted. Wirefly lured the customers in, then does not honor what they said they will. It's like bait and switch. At least I got what I paid for, but I am not happy with their promotion that they will not honor. I will not recommend Wirefly to my friends and families.
===update, 5/2/12===
After Wirefly posted a reply, someone from the corporate office did call, and left a message. I called back the number "office of the president" (if I remember correctly), and the customer service rep still couldn't help me b/c apparently there was some kind of communication gap between Verizon and Wirefly. Wirefly says it's Verizon; Verizon says it's Wirefly. She told me that she'd check and give me a call 24 hours. I waited for a day and a half; no phone call, so I called back. This time, another customer rep, named Mr. John H. answered, and basically told me the same thing (I would need to contact Verizon, not Wirefly). I told him I've been bounced back and forth, so Wirefly needs to talk to Verizon directly. He placed a 3-way call for me (Verizon customer service, then Verizon rebate customer service, then back to Verizon customer service to include speaking to the higher manager). Thanks to John, Verizon was finally able to help me with the $30 promotion. So, in the end, I upgraded my star ratings. My original order (2 phones) went smoothly without any problem, so I'm happy about that. What I was frustrated is regular customer rep (probably outsourced in foreign country) wasn't able to help, and kept telling me to call back (24-48 hours, then 12 hours, then 14 days) in hopes of I'd just give up (which I almost did!). Until John went above and beyond to make a 3-way call with Verizon, no one else was able to help (to incldue Verizon customer service). In the future, I may place an order with Wirefly again, but I'd be leery of promotion (e.g. rebate etc.). If you don't have to deal with first-level customer service rep (ones in foreign country with thick accent), you'd be okay. Thanks, Mr. John H for your help and being very courteous on the phone.
After Wirefly posted reply, "
"Always the lowest prices and quick shipping! I do wish I could get them to NOT automatically activate the phone as soon as it gets delivered, it ends up cutting your service when you might not be there to get the package. Otherwise, I've had nothing but good service!"
"Extensive product lineup. Knowledgeable staff. Discount pricing. Fast service. What else do you need?"
"I love this phone it's all I need. I like how it's very durable and fast apps. I highly recommend this phone and will purchase another for my kids in the future ."
"Horrible! I will never use Wifefly again. At first this seemed like a good idea in that I could get mine and my wife's new phones for $50 cheaper than in the Sprint store. Things all went wrong when after a week, my phone stopped working. I went into my local Sprint store and they told me that it was broken and if I purchased it there, they would have given me a new one on the spot. Here's a summary of where things went wrong:
1. Same day after going to the Sprint Store called Wirefly.
2. After being on the phone for over an hour, I was finally told that they would send me an exchange phone if I let them hold $400 on my card and paid for shipping.
3. They have a 14 day "trial period," but it really only lasts 7 days because it starts when you order the phone, not when you receive it.
4. It took 3 days for me to get a replacement phone.
5. Because it took 3 days to get a replacement phone and because the "trial period" had already expired by then, I had to overnight (at my own expense) the broken phone back to Wirefly.
All in all, the return and exchange ended up costing me a lot of headaches speaking with people who aren't in the U.S., a lot of money (over $50 just to ship the broken phone back) and I'll never be able to avail myself to the convenience of the local Sprint store. Save yourself the headache and spend the $."
