"So amidst all the COVID lockdowns and boredom I found myself less and less amused by my video games as a way to pass my slim recreational time. As I sat in my chair one day bored with playing the same old thing I looked over and saw my wifes rarely picked up entry level yamaha acoustic guitar sitting collecting more dust. Having not touched a guitar in probably about 30 years since my mom forced me into lessons I quickly talked my way out of taking I decided, "why not?" and picked it up and plucked. Despite the acute finger pain and horrible level of skill I had I found myself quickly enamored and wondering why I hadn't given guitar an honest shot so many years ago. Over the weeks I quickly developed a passion for the instrument and found myself playing for hours on end day after day. While my fingers quickly calloused over I started to notice that my finger tip bones felt "bruised" and even after two months of playing every day straight through it hurt quite a bit. Being 6'3 with somewhat larger hands than normal I also felt like my wifes parlor sized guitar was perhaps too small for me so I began to do some research. Googling "guitars for large hands" I quickly landed on the Zager product over and over again. I have to admit that for the price (I'm not super wealthy but I also wanted to buy something above an entry level guitar as I'm not a college kid anymore either) I was skeptical to fork over the money for an instrument I had never held or played before. I contemplated masking up and going to a music store but then I started to think "won't I probably end up buying whatever the sales rep at the store recommends anyway?" So I decided to bite the bullet and buy the zad80ce in black, I figured they had a money back guarantee so what the heck. I waited (not so patiently as the reps at Zager can certainly testify to) for a couple of months to receive the guitar and I'm happy to say it was all well worth it. The case is awesome, yes they gave me a free shirt, but the guitar. Oh my the guitar. Its so beautiful and it sounds great! The best part? It really is like a dream on my fingers. I keep the yamaha at my office now for whenever I have a break from work I can turn and pick it up and I can almost hear my fingers saying "nooooooooooooo,." If you are on the fence, guys give this guitar a try. I love it. Haters be dammed. I love it! "

I have Martins and a bunch of others but your 900 is head and shoulders above. I also love your strings. I can gig for hours and have no sore fingers. I just wanted to thank you for your attention to quality. When I ordered my 900 you got a batch of bone pieces that did not meet your standards. My first thought was, "If he doesn't like them then I don't." (never fly with a pilot that doesn't want to fly!) I got my Johnny Cash guitar today and it is everything I had hoped for. I had a Mosrite years ago and it was stolen out of our church. I replaced it with a Guild acoustic electric but was never happy with it. I found a used cheap Martin acoustic that I liked better and sold the Guild. I don’t play as much as I used to with our Gospel band, now it’s just me. I have to sing Christmas eve at a church and have been practicing a lot and my fingers are sore. I went to Guitar Center and tried some new Martins. The best one they had was a d 16 which does not compare to the one I received this morning. Hopefully my fingers will feel better in a few days so I can play it more.

My dad played guitar. I always wanted to learn. He always played “cheap” guitars. His advise to me was to “don’t be cheap like me and get a Martin” I tried, after searching the web I saw how much a Martin cost and could not afford one. From the Martin search, I was directed to a guitar brand I had never heard of, ZAGER. I ended up buying a ZAD50ce/bk. That was 13 years ago. My dad passed and with a small inheritance I purchased a Martin D-35retro. It’s “my dads guitar”. Years have gone by. When it’s time to pick up the guitar it is the ZAGER that gets taken out of its case.
The two guitars are different but I hold them on the same level. But I play the ZAGER much more. Playability and sound are not compromised. I have some hand issues with my left hand and it seems playing the ZAGER is a bit less work for my hand.
All things being equal, if I was starting all over again, I would not change a thing.
ZAGER is my first real guitar, and remains my favorite. My Martin will always be my fathers guitar and it spends more time in its case. I have since purchased a Parlor mahogany ZAGER. When it’s time to buy my grandchildren guitars, ZAGER will be my first choice.

"I actually have a Zager ZAD50 Acoustic I'm reviewing. Im 53, kids are grown, forced to work at home, alone all the time. My 18 yr old daughter plays electric, very good, but I've tried her guitars, and her Martin Acoustic, many times, and it was just not comfortable, and painful after a while, years of doing everything myself I guess, my hands aren't what they used to be. Anyway, I ran across Zager because I have big hands, not "fat", I'm 5'10" and 165 lbs, but big strong hands, so did a search on guitars based on that. Saw someone's comment on Zager, researched them more, and bought a ZAD50. I'm 11 lessons in with my instructor, and am loving it. No more hand pain playing my daughter's guitars, and it just feels natural.

Back to the "sane" part, my daughter has 7 guitars, I tried each for a while, this is finally the one that I LOVE and play for hours, well practice and learn, every day. Keeps me off of Netflix, drinking, or worst ways to pass time alone. Definitely will buy a CE Model someday.

"I am a beginner on the guitar and have been at it for just short of a year. I had been playing a Martin D Jr until I received my Zad900 OM. The OM size is perfect for me, small hands and short arms. The first thing that hits you is the absolute beautiful workmanship. The finish, the rosewood and spruce and inlays are a piece of art. Most importantly though I found myself paying better in just a few minutes and the sound was so full and clean. I feel like my guitar playing is really advancing now after being stuck on a plateau for a few months. I can't wait to play for my instructor next week. He will be surprised. "I'm on a first name basis with the crew at a local music superstore (what avid player isn't) with a large line-up of acoustic guitars. They call / email me when they think a new arrival might be of interest to me. A crop of Taylor 800 series with their newest bracing arrived and I thought I would stop in. Played three of Taylor's flagship models and could not wait to get back to my Zager 900. Nothing wrong with the Taylors, and they did exhibit some impressive sound, but for all the tech they advertise I wasn't feeling it - or hearing it. I hate fake reviews - fake anything - and while sound is in the ear of the beholder, I have a well-tuned ear and would bet any player I know would come to the same conclusion. Zager wins again. "I've been playing guitar almost 30 years.
I have played most of the low end acoustics and
some high-end as well.
I took a chance with zager guitar company and I have no regrets.
It is true what they tell us about easy play.
Right out of the box you can play longer because the spacing really is wider between the strings and the action is set so it you don't get that "string bite" like they say.
The finishes on their guitars are quality.
The one thing though that really sets them apart from most is their customer service.
I owned my ZAD80CE for about 6 years and really enjoyed it. Then a couple weeks ago I noticed the bridge starting to pull away a little from the top. It can happen from time to time as they settle.
I contacted Dennis Jr. and he told me we'll take care of you. That was an understatement.
I really feel like Dennis and his family really have my back when it comes to being one of their customers.
After a few emails back and forth we decided on trading for two zad20's and they came in the mail within three days and I shipped the ZAD80CE back to them that day!
Now, the zad20 isn't a cut away like the ZAD80CE is..... I was a little concerned about the low end on the zad20. As soon as I pulled each one out of their cases and played around with them my concern went away. They sound nice and bright but not too bright and the low end is SO good.
Zager guitar company has been an excellent guitar company to be a part of.

"I got my guitar in today, it was an open box model but I would consider it brand new as I haven't yet found the blemish on the finish the Zagers indicated would be there. It came in BRAND NEW condition. So be aware, they are very honest with there "Sale" items on their website... Maybe even too honest.

The service with Dennis Jr. was special for a guitar company and really just won't be found with any other online guitar store. And it compares with some of the best in store service from private music shops I've ever been shown. Guitar Center will not treat you this well. Email responses in minutes every time... I haven't seen anything like it from an online source.

Further, you aren't going to do better on price for a guitar. Currently there is a Taylor 614 on the shelf at my local guitar center for 1700 bucks... that guitar is not this. They don't have a guitar at either of the two guitar centers that sounds as nice as does this guitar. I played a Mahogany D-28 for like 7 or 8 thousand that wasn't even close. There is some brightness left to work itself out of the guitar, but it sounds better than the OMJM (john mayer OM) that on paper closely compares to this 900OM and costs just North of double.

Easy to play... this thing is gorgeous... Get one. I haven't played a 20, 50, or 80... but I would wager that if those guitars are in your price range, you haven't heard one as nice at that price yet.

"My wife and I own 3 Zager guitars, 2 ZAD 80CE's, and 1 ZAD 900CE, received at different times over the years. They all are excellent guitars and the "80's", which are older than our 900, are aging very well. The 900 is as bold and exciting as the day it arrived a few years ago. Maintenance on these guitars have been minimal, we change strings, keep them in a fairly even environment, and when the strings get too close to the neck, we adjusted the truss rod about a 1/8th turn or so, and voila, like new again.
