"They are a bunch of liers. They told me that the cam I ordered has USA warantee at the time I ordered. It was back order. I called 2 weeks after and was hun up a 2 times and a long wiat and finally some rude guy answered and said that it would take 6-8 weeks. Called back again today for the status and was hung up 2 times, put on hold 3 times for each call. Finally another very rude A$$ hole answered the phone and said that he does not care for my bussiness. ALl I asked was the status of the order. I was not even complaining at all and this is the crab I got."

"Very hard sell, up-charging. They make you call to confirm the order, and then they give you a big run-around to upgrade what you bought. They would not change my order 15 minutes after it was placed, nor would they cancel it the next day - 36 hours before it was shipped. I do NOT recommend this reseller."

"I ordered a Casio Exilim Z50 digital camera from this company after comparison shopping. They offered the lowest price & then threw in Free shipping.After placing order I received an
Email requiring a confirmation call to complete order.(Immediate Red Flag)When I called I spoke to Robert who then asked if I wished to order a battery and charger for this camera. Knowing all other stores included the "Internal" Lithium Ion battery & USB Charging cradle, I told him I only wanted what I had indicated in the order form.
He then sarcastically asked me how I intended to take pictures without these items.I then told him to cancell my order. He said "no problem" and then made a offhand remark "Good Luck"
This is a very deceptive business practice and I would strongly urge everyone to avoid this company!!!!!!!!!

"A complete fraud, selling overseas camera models that do not qualify for the manufacturer's rebate program, but advertising the price as if it did; promising 5-day delivery and then claiming at least three weeks; claiming a 1-year warranty when there was none; makes misleading claims of which accessories are included in purchase. "Same issue as everyone else. Received email about verification. Called and was given a hard sell and was told that I was being sold the Japanese model, not the USA model on the website. DO NOT trust this merchant. Was skeptical also about the phone system & operator. I quickly cancelled my order and contacted my cc company immediately after finding out about this. They still put up a fight when trying to cancel (wasn't as strong as the verification part). Seemed justified, but after reading this site I realized it was too good to be true.

"This has to be the worst company I've ever had to deal with in my life. First I was ordering a 20 inch sharp flat screen television. They called me the next day to try to sell me fake monster cables for 149.99. The real ones are 120.00 retail!! Then when I tried to cancel my order the one man show refused to cancel and instead called me 50 times with harrassing phone calls.

If I were you I would never try to buy from A&M Photo World. As a person very experienced in the retail IT world. This is the worst company I have ever seen.

"Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. I called up and ordered the digital camera I wanted to purchase and ended up ordering a memory stick for it as well. I decided I did not want the memory stick so I called back within 10 minutes of the placement of the order to take it off my order. I was told rather rudely that I couldn't take it off. I had to either cancel the order or leave it as it is. I asked if I could cancel the order and start a new one and was told NO, again very rudely. I said cancel it. He said it's already cancelled. I then promptly hungup in this "sales representatives" ear.

I would highly recommend NOT doing business with these people.

"I had an experience similar to others ordering from this company. They had a great price on a Canon S1 IS but after ordering the product I got an email saying they had to confirm the order by phone . When I called they tried to sell me some overpriced accesories which I said I didn't want. He didn't say anything about the item not being in stock. Just that I should receive it in the next couple of weeks.The item was also listed as being in stock but I never got it and when I check the order status it says that the item is back ordered. "

"i am joining the club of people who has been tricked by this company, ordered canon 300D for really unbelievable price of 400us, placed order beginning of November. Order immediately went to status onhold, item backordered. Checked on 13 Dec, sales person told me that it will take another 3-4 weeks to be delivered, and his personal advice is to order it with some starter kit for 899us, then item can be delivered within next 5 days. in this period the price of camera went to 699us from 400. i cancelled the order. avoid this company in your own interest."

"I must be a magnet for racist remarks. In a span of one week, I've come in contact with 3 racist situations. The latest was most appalling. Here's how it went down:

I had to return my camera (a second time. What kind of store sells a camera without a battery and charger?), so I called the customer representative.
::on hold for 8 minutes::

Customer Rep: Hello, AMPHOTO. ****** speaking.
Chris: Hey, ******. I'm calling to cancel an order.
CR:Can I have your name and address, please?
C: Chris Lau, 123 fake st. yadda yadda...
CR: Okay, so what seems to be the problem?
C: I found out that this model doesn't have a battery and charger.
CR: Well, this is the import model.
C: I see. Well, I had no idea.
CR: Oh come on, you should know. You're from Japan.
C: ::mouth opens for 4 seconds:: Excuse me?
CR: Aren't you from Japan? Where you from?
C: America...
CR: Oh.
C: Cancel my order please
CR: Right away! ::click::

What an ignoramus! First of all, just because I have an Asian last name doesn't qualify me as being Japanese. Would that customer rep label Tommy Lee (the drummer) Asian as well? That guy deserves a kick in the face not only for being racist, but for selling a camera without a warranty, battery and charger.

"I got the same carnival sideshow rip-off as many here did. I ordered a Panasonic PVGS-120 Camcorder from these guys at $479, on their website. I was sent an e-mail from "Walter" asking "For verification purposes, please call our customer service department at 1-***-***-**** ext. 767, in order for us to proceed and process your order." I called and he told me that the battery that came with it lasted only 15 minutes and I should get an upgrade. Also, he wanted to sell me a package of MV tapes that only come in 5's. After I declined, he said, "well, actually, there is a kit you can get for only a few dollars more than an extra capacity battery, for $54.99." I asked what was in the kit. He said the extra capacity battery and two tapes and a charger. I thought, cool, I can charge one battery while I use the other. When the order got here, it was for $559.99 for the camera and the kit was nowhere in the package! I called to find out they closed earlier than their posted hours on Friday. Today, I talked to "Greg" at extension 716. Greg informed me that I got the USA model, not the "Gray Market" model. I complained that I was never told that there was a difference in models and the invoice didn't indicate any USA model on it. I explained that "Walter" didn't tell me any of that and that I was ordering a "kit" according to him and it was $54.99, not an additional $80.99. He then explained that on the website you can search for "PVGS-120 USA" and see what I really got... the USA model, which on the website currently is $649.99, but they gave me a discount so I only had to pay $559.99. What a smooth operator... trying to smooth my ruffled feathers. I don't know what else to do other than boycott this company and tell all my friends to avoid them like the plague. Yes, $559.99 is not a bad price for this camera, but it's not what I agreed to pay for it. I'm tempted to contact my credit card company and dispute the additional $80.99 and have them take it up with the rats at A&M Photo, but I'm afraid that since everything is carefully orchestrated by these guys to be just on the margin of legal, and I trusted them with an oral agreement to an increase in the price, I won't be able to prove my case. By the way, on Friday, when I received my order, I found that they had already deleted my email address as my login for my order. I was hoping to be able to see an invoice online that I could compare to my paper invoice, but they no longer have my email address in the system, so I can't log in. Even if I could, I probably couldn't see my order online anyway... they already thought of that. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

"Well, I was looking for a DV camcorder and found one at A&M for a really great price! What a JOKE!
My experience was just like most of the others. When I wouldn't buy the extra crap my order was placed on backorder. When I called today 12/12/04, I was told the item I was waiting for was a "japanese version"(not according to the web site of course) but I could have an english version for $185 more. When I tried to cancel I was accused of wasting the man's time and then hung up on. I could write more but the other posts tell the story nicely. Stay away from this joint if you value your serenity.
