"I found the Panasonic PV-GS70 camcorder on AMPHOTOWORLD.COM for $569.99, I called them before placing the order making sure that they had it on stock, I was told yes this was the retail version and was on stock. I then placed the order online with $39 UPS 2 day delivery. Second later received an email about the other with the order number, the email stated to expedite the order call ***-***-****. After been transferred to customer service to confirm the order number is as followed:

AMPH.COM: yes sir, we have your order, are you familiar with this camera.
ME: Euh somewhat yes, it’s for my wife going to labor anytime this week so I would like to get this real quick.
AMPH.COM: But the battery only last 15 min, do you want to purchase a longer life battery.
ME: How much for this battery.
AMPH.COM: It is $179, but you can get it thru this purchase for $149
ME No thanks, I’ll do fine with this one.
AMPH.COM: Ok sir, you camera will be shipped in 6 to 8 weeks.
ME: But on the web site, I chose a UPS 2 day delivery.
AMPH.COM: No sir, this camera is shipping from overseas for $569 the US version is $699 and the warranty is $199 more.
ME: But you web site did not state anything like that.
AMPH.COM: So, we don’t have to state that on the web site.
ME: Well sire I think this is false advertising,
AMPH.COM: Listen sire I don’t have time to go back and forth.
ME: Well you can go ahead and cancel my other
AMPH.COM: Ok, bye.

People, I do buy a lot from the Internet and phone orders, and this company is by far the worst experience of my life, STAY AWAY. I’m surprise they are still in business.

"I usually check resellerratings, but I slipped on this one & ordered first. I called to cancel my order 20 minutes later, and the guy says "no problem, we'll bill your card $45". I said "for what?". He says "that's the restocking fee."

I asked if the item had even shipped (doubtful on a friday night, after all). He said no, and that he would waive the fee. We'll see--I'm watching my card like a hawk.

Thank you, resellerratings & the community here--if I'd read even the first 3 postings I would have never placed the order.

"Called to place an order for the Minolta G500 based on low price. Immediately the sales rep began the hard-sell and adding on a lot of accessories. He wanted to sell me a special high-capacity battery, memory card, carrying case, and a warranty. I bit for all the items, and then he gave me their "package price" for those items. Sounded good, so I placed the order. I was shocked at the outrageous 6% + $39 shipping costs (total of $65!). I then heard about resellerratings.com and read the horrible reviews. I called back less than an hour after ordering to cancel, and I was given a complete run-around. He claimed it had left his department, he couldn't stop the shipping, and my only option was to refuse delivery. He said I would be charged shipping in both directions, and pay a restock fee. A restock fee on an order I cancelled?!? He insulted me, saying I had no reason to cancel the order. I explained that I found the entire package for over $100 less at a more reputable company (J & R Music World). He said I would pay over $100 in return shipping plus restock fees, so I might as well just keep the product from them. I asked for a manager, and he refused to connect me. After arguing for about 1 hour he put me on hold, then came back and said he would try to stop the shipping of the order. I'll never buy from them again!"

"I called about the Fuji FinePix 3800 at a very low price. I spoke with a rude little shmuck named Chad (supposed manager). When I asked him what comes with the camera because it refurbished he said just the camera. When I asked what came with it he didnt know but started saying that whatever comes with it, comes with it, then verbally insulted me. I was astonished that I was talked to this way with such anger and agression. Only a real scam business or someones boiler room could operate this way.......... Stay away from these guys they are the scum of the earth."

"Very prompt a good price. However, had to call to confirm Internet order. Directed to Chad at extension 723. Was sold on a "package" deal was lead to believe free shipping was included with the package deal. The "standard" 6% S&H fee was never disclosed. Was shocked when package arrived that I was charged twice the amount of S&H over Internet order when only 45% more merchandise. Never informed of total amount. I perceived complete rush in sales process just to upsell without customer satisfaction. Called Chad after receiving package. After several minutes of discussion, he transferred me to customer service after informing me he "did not have time to talk about this anymore". Customer service gave me only partial credit on S&H. Not at all satisified."

"Same deal as most folks:
You'll probably never receive your product
if you don't purchase some of A&M hard-sell
accessories.

I waited almost two months for the "Instock" Sony TRV-22 Camcorder with the great $479 price and
I just cancelled the order after finding this
site, and getting tired of the runaround.

Day 1:
Placed order via web after being told
via phone that the TRV-22 was "instock".

Day 2:
Got an e-mail from A&M asking me to call them
to confirm and expidite my order. I suspected
they wanted to make sure it was a valid user
of my credit card, etc, but they just wanted
to convince me to purchase lots of extras. I
said no thanks and they finally said ok, everything's fine.

Day 3:
I called two days after purchase to find out
why the order wasn't listed in their tracking system. Told that it takes a couple days over
the weekend, etc, for it to show up in their
computer. Then told that the camcorder was
on backorder for 3-4 weeks.


Day 25 or so:
Called them and was told it was still on
backorder. Estimate was two more weeks.

Day 46+:
I looked up my order on their web site and
still says "call service".
I called them again and was told it was on
backorder for three more weeks.

So, I told them to just cancel it and they (said
they) did so. The service guy didn't hesitate
to accept my cancellation. I just wanted them
to go away and get out of my life. Now, I'll
right them up on this ratings site.
A&M was polite on the phone but they didn't
come up with the goods. They originally said
the camcorder was in stock which it must not
have been (at least not for camera-only purchasers
is my guess).

I hope my order really was canceled.

"Talked to sales person on phone to assure there would not be a mixup. I ordered a Nikon Coolpix 2100 camera. They said it was in stock and would be shipped immediately. They LIED! Price went up after I ordered it. Was not delived. Called. They said it was on back order. Still available on website. I would advise never doing business with them.

"We ordered a Canon ZR70MC from A&M PhotoWorld based on their web price of $389.00 plus $19.99 shipping. When the camera arrived it included an invoice of $499.99, which is the amount they charged to our American Express card. Given the poor rating of the company I'm sure that American Express will help us get the overcharge eliminated, but I'm not happy about the hassle. And I wonder how many people get overbilled and don't notice."

"Placed an order with this company for a Sony DCR-TRV38 camcorder. I was told the item was in stock and ready to ship. Then I received a phone call at work from one of their salesmen trying to sell me every accessory in the book and additional insurance for the product. After waisting 30 minutes of my time quoting thier over priced accessories, I received a second email stating my item was on back order and would take 4 weeks to ship. I cancelled my order. Don't waist your time. Pay a little extra for a well-rated reseller who knows the meaning of customer service. "

"Their price for a Pentax Optio S was the lowest I found, so I ordered one. Alarm bells should have rang when the email notification omitted any mention of prices at all. More alarm bells should have rang when I received an email asking me to telephone the company to confirm the order. When I did, I was offered various other products (larger capacity battery, more memory etc) which I declined butI did concede to adding, for an additional $20, "software and cable without which nothing could be downloaded to a computer". The camera arrived fast enough but with a shipping charge $10 more than it should have been and no software or cable other then that which was in the manufacturers box and clearly listed on the box as being included. On calling the company and explaining my concerns, I was asked rather rudely if I spoke English - I am English! And was then told that the software and cable are included in the "international" version of the camera and, if I had not been sent this, then the US version would not have had these items included. Maybe this is the case but no mention of an international version had ever been made and it all seems like a ploy to get me to pay more than the advertised price. The additional shipping cost was for insurance, which I had not asked for. The company representative I spoke to agreed to refund this. I hope, but do not expect, to get the refund. "

"Home of bait and switch. If you don't go for the hustle you are told it will take three weeks for your order. Stay far away from these folks. Ordered a Fuji s5000 digital camera. They take the memory card out and then try to charge extra for it. Baaaaad boys."

"When I found the Olympus D-565 for $265 at A&M Photo World, I was really surprised since it usually goes for $299 online. Shipping was 19.99 (a little high) on the website, but I've heard from these reviews and their policy that the shipping price that is shown on the website isn't the actual shipping cost, you would have to call them and confirm the order to find out the actual total cost of your purchase. I was feeling pretty good about myself after I made the purchase and then I searched around and stumbled upon resellerratings.com (which is a great site btw). To my dreadful surprise, I found so many dissatisfied customers (also under the 2 other companies that are tied in with this company - digitalliquidators.com and bwayphoto.com. I also checked bbb.com and found the many complaints filed for these 3 companies. So I emailed A&M right away to cancel the order. I was told to call the number to cancel the order. I called and the order was cancelled immediately without any hassle. I also received an email confirming the cancellation shortly after. I wasn't yelled at or pushed by the salesman, he just canceled it without any questions. Since I didn't go through with the order, I can't really pass judgement on this company, but it is very easy to cancel an order since they don't even process your credit card without you calling them first. My available balance on my card wasn't touched and there are so far no charges that appear on it. According to the reviews, I guess it's a crap shoot whether or not you'll be satisfied. Before you think about buying from them, do your research, I know I will do that before I place an order with any company. "

"I ordered a Sony CyberShot DSC-P92 from A&M photo world. The next business day I got a "confirmation email" asking to call and confirm my order. When I did this, they told me they would put my order through, then tried to sell me batteries and a warantee, claiming the camera came with none. I asked, "Sony comes with a 90-day warrantee, does it not?" He replied that A&M Photo World deals in gray-market products, with no warantee. He told me they mention on their site that they sell "international products", although they make no mention of gray-market.

Avoid this dealer at all costs; the lower price is not worth the risk of gray-market products.

"This company is suck...
Never try to deal with them.
Don't make a mistake!!!
If you planning to buy only one product without accessories you'll be dump... No accessories to buy - no product (this how is work).
I ordered Canon camcorder through online with conformation that it's in stock, but then received call that they need to verify my address and by the way try to sell something else...and after refuse to buy extra stuff got an email that product is not available... :-(
Be carefully what are you want: cheap and painful or little bit more expensive but with a good service!!
