"Great experience ordering from BestPricePhoto.com. I was nervous to buy a quality camera from an online site but after seeing the reviews I went ahead with it. I was very happy with how fast the order was processed and received my order within the expected time frame. Condition of camera was brand new and no scratches or abnormalities. "I placed an order for a Canon 5D Mark II w/ 24-105mm IS L Lens on February 17th. On February 20th I received an email from Simon Carter from BestPricePhoto warehouse management that the camera package was currently back ordered and it would be 1-2 weeks until they could complete my order, and that I would be contacted to confirm billing.

I called into their Customer Service and was immediately told that the Customer Service department was closed and to call back during normal business hours from 11am EST etc, this call was made at 7:30am PST 10:30am EST on Friday February 24th, business hours listed on their website are 10:00am - 6:00pm EST M-TH 10:00am - 3:00pm on Friday.

This is when I started second guessing my purchase.

I finally called during "regular" business hours and spoke with a Customer Service Representative that did in fact inform me that the item was on back ordered, I asked him what his system showed as far as the status of my order he said that it was still pending and that their Canon representative was going to release the order of camera's on March 8th, which seemed reasonable, he guaranteed that I would be getting a camera from the March 8th shipment and that at that time my I would be contacted via email to inquire if I was still interested in purchasing and to complete the transaction. I called again on March 2nd and was told the Canon representative would be releasing the camera orders on March 12th and that I would for sure be getting one of those cameras.

Waiting.

I received an email this morning, March 7th, letting me know that the item was back ordered again (same as email from February 20th) this email was also Simon Gartner...he must be the main man over there to be emailing me regular old me right? I contacted Customer Service again to inquire on the status of the order to make sure we were still on track for March 8th and was told that that was not the case and that it was in fact back ordered again and wouldn't be available for another 1-2 weeks, that they had to ship it overseas from Japan and that that could cause delays, when I asked for a date estimation I was told that was not possible. When I asked him why the same item was still listed as being in stock on the website he told me that they leave it as in stock because they still want to take orders for the camera and that it costs them money every time they have someone make a change on their website. This I found a little ridiculous and shady. The price is good, but there is something called ethical business practices, and this did not sit well with me. I had faith on them because of the good review on ResellerRatings and thought the negative reviews were just out of spite, but I was proved wrong. Now that the Customer Service representative let me know that it has to be shipped from overseas it probably means that this is a grey market item, which will prove to be worthless warranty wise.

I will have to think hard if I want to keep putting up with this or just choose to cancel my order and purchase from a more established and credible online retailer.

"(New Review) Originally wrote a negative review last night. But,had a phone call from Anthony (X 501) first thing this morning. Anthony handled my biggest concerns (1. that I had goofed by not setting up an account and thus being unable to track my package and 2. sending me a new e-mail invoice since I upgraded products). Although I am still spending more than I had originally planned I feel like I am getting a better product. He even threw in a couple of free gifts. If the fulfillment of my order due to arrive Mon. is as promised, I would totally recommend BPP to friends and work with them again. Thanks so much!
(Old Review) I am getting very nervous about my order with BPP and seriously wish I had read the reviews ahead of time so I was prepared for the pushy up-sell I received on the phone when I called back to confirm my order.
I was foolish and didn't set up a member account log-in and now have no way to trace my revised order and . So I have no way of knowing now exactly what I am getting and why the quoted price is so much higher than the numbers the CS rep at ext 502 told me for the items I upgraded to. Although I called right back to ask that they email me a new invoice listing of my purchased items all I got was voice-mail (I know I only spoke to the rep this morning but I am so nervous about this I have called back 3 times and only gotten voice-mail) and no updated invoice.
Yes, I was given and fell for the line about needing a 5 hour battery because the one that comes with the camera is only good for 30 min. The other reviews tell me this is UNTRUE. When I hesitated the rep quickly said he would give me the 5 hour battery and charger for $79 the price of a 3 hour battery, but I can't find this price on there website).
Also, I was told that the the SecureDigital™ - 8GB Professional SD Memory Card ($24.99) I ordered WON'T work in a DSLR camera (also untrue)(I ordered the Canon T3i with a 18-55mm IS II Kit - Great Price by the way) and so I upgraded to a different 8GB card that I was told is $109, but I can't find that price on the website either.
In addition to the SD card I had also ordered a Strap and a Dust Removal tool to get FREE EXPRESS shipping. Apparently, EXPRESS shipping is the same thing as ground shipping (which was already free), but the rep said he would upgrade me to 3 day shipping for no extra charge. I didn't need accessories I only bought them to get EXPRESS shipping - faulty advertising.
The rep also said he was upgrading my bag and tripod (items from my free gift package - at least I did that right on the website and I didn't find the instructions hard to follow - I think the website is great and helpful I REALLY appreciated the info about calling my credit card company about shipping to a different address. I was assuming this upgrade was free, but I don't know as my original $700.96 order was now up to $995 (which is way more than I could afford to spend for this and the prices I was quoted by the rep come no where near this amount). The rep then suggested I just go with some package he had that would be only $4 more and would actually give me all the stuff I already was getting plus an additional 5 hour battery and charger. So I am now in this for $999. EEK! I loved the website and prices and am hoping the merchandise comes quickly like it has for so many of your customers. But I seriously hate being LIED to especially when it is going to cost me $300 that I don't have. Now that I now the truth I just want my original order and I really would love to leave the fantastic feedback that I see many people have left.

"I ordered a camera, and called the next day to check on the order status. Someone tried to upsell me on products, and I told them I would call back. I called back, and Jeff the "manager" and I had some confusion as to when the order would ship. He got frustrated and hung up on me. I called back to resolve the issue, and he said he was cancelling the order, which I did not want to happen, then hung up on me again. Do not do business with this company. Now the same camera is not even available on the site. PURE FRAUD.

*Update: The response to my original review is not true. I indeed did ask to have the processing time, but no problem with that request not being met. I chose the 7-9 day shipping option because it was the cheapest.
BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY. My understanding what that I was ordering 1 camera, and they tried to Upsell me on the USA version, even though the version I bought had no easily found indication that it was gray market. HOW SHADY. The customer service rep even called to ask me to take down my review, and then upsell me on something I didnt want to pay extra on. Places like this shouldn't be in business because of their unethical practices.

"Their prices are low and their service is professional. I ordered a Nikon lens with the hood cap and I was able to get the order shipped to texas in 4 days, impressed with how fast they processed the order. Only complaint I have is, they have not provided with the warranty information even though the website states, everything comes with US warranty."

"Awesome site. Never heard of them until i did some research when looking for T3i. Glad i found them the price was $100 lower then any where else. Even after doing free shipping i was expecting to get the camera in about two weeks, but it took about 8 days. Also got some small perks. Free Bag, lens cleaning kit, and a desk tripod. They're not amazing quality but it was free so it doesn't really matter. oh and a SD card Wallet. forgot about that one.

Only thing i can really complain about and it's not even a big problem is that the website is really slow for some reason. Log-in took like 3 minutes some times. Not a big deal at all. Overall, awesome shopping experiences.
