"I place my order on 11/28/11 for a camcorder. Four days later I receive a phone call and email asking me to conntact BestPricePhoto. I called was asked I want to buy battiers or anything else for the camcorder(a sales pitch). I said "No Thanks" just ship me the camcorder. I asked when it would be shipped and was told 5 to 7 days. On 12/15/11 Still no camcoder. I call again asking where is the camcorder and was told they were NOW on back order. I asked why wasn't I contacted and told it was on back order. I asked if I would have it by Xmas a was told "Yes". I was also told the shipped would be upgraded to over night for free and I would receive a extra battery with it for my trouble. I just called on 2/2/12 and asked about my order AGAIN was told it was on back order. So if you are thinking about buying form BestPricePhoto think someplace else. Here you ONLY get talk and NO merchandise!!!
Now BestPricePhoto is saying they told me! Why wasn't it listed as on back order on the website when I placed my order. Why did I have to call and find out it was on back order even though I was told it was beening shipped. Why is the item still not listed as on back order. Too bad they couldn't respond to me directly!!!"
"HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SHADY BUSINESS PRACTICES! It is obvious that this company writes their own positive reviews. The only real customers appear to be the ones that write the accurate, NEGATIVE reviews. Saving a few bucks is just not worth the hassle of this terribly executed business and horrible customer "service". How much does that cost?
First of all, contrary to information on their website, they would not accept payment via American Express. In hindsight, this is clearly because AmEx is the best credit card company for disputing charges with a seller. When I asked about this contradiction after filling out the billing info the first time, I was told they'd be happy to cancel my order for me. Really? Is this because I didn't purchase any of your over-priced accessories and therefore you aren't making as much money? The website should be accurate regarding payment. As other complaints mention, they also tried to trick me into buying another battery by doing their ridiculous call back "to confirm everything" after ordering online. "Which battery do you want, the 2-hour or 4-hour?" This was annoying because the camera comes with a battery that last 4-hours + the first time I used it, even though they guy said it would only last 10 minutes. This should have been a red flag for me to actually cancel my order with this sketchy company and pay extra $ and go straight to a local shop for good service with integrity. Lesson learned. Then, like the other buyers, I also had to deal with calling my credit card company when the charges were "declined" as other people have complained about. This for a purchase of around $500. This has NEVER happened before, a complete waste of my time due to their business practices and another red flag.
The kicker is that when I received the order and it didn't include the "Free Bonus Gift", I called to ask them to send the items. I was told that it was because I didn't "add it to my cart." What a joke! It does say that once you click through the free gift description, but it's not obvious at all, and after going through the process and dealing with them not actually accepting American Express and having to start the purchase over, after spending all of the time on it, I didn't do that. I've never had to add to a cart a free gift that is included with an item. After all of the drama with actually completing the order it was completely understandable that it would not occur to me to add something that supposedly comes with the purchase. I didn't have to add the "Free Shipping" to my cart.
This would not have been a big deal if it weren't for the TERRIBLE customer service. "Jeffrey" offered to ship me the "free items" at my expense. When I told him that it was ridiculous that the free gift wasn't included in the box with the item I had purchased, he was angry and just talked over me repeatedly. I asked to speak with a different customer service agent or his supervisor and he said that I couldn't. I asked him if this was because someone else simply wasn't physically available at that moment (and if that was the case, to forward me to their voicemail or have someone else call me back), and he said he was the only person I could speak with. When I called back (clearly he has caller id and was happy to answer my call), he was aggressive in stating them same thing, that he would not allow me to talk to anyone else.
If they really sell this many items and get all of these positive reviews every day, do you think there would only be one person, Jeffrey, in customer "service"? No, of course not. And how on earth would one person have time to respond to phone calls and all of these posts? It is clearly an employee sitting around writing positive reviews for them so that people like me will google their reviews before purchasing and see all of the positive reviews.
I'm eagerly anticipating the response to this review to hear how they will spin everything and take no responsibility. Don't be impressed by the response to this review, I was before dealing with this company and I was fooled."
"Horrible Service would never order here or recommend. After 10 days of waiting for an order, I had to call customer service. I was placed on hold so they could make a phone call to someone to find out the status. Of couse I was disconnected. After my second call, I was assured my order would ship the next business day and the shipping would be expedited for the inconvenience. Two business days later I still have no information, and no order shipped. I emailed customer service, with no response. I then called customer service to find out what the problem was and let them know that I was extremely frustrated and disappointed with the service and to see where my order. I was then told my item was on back order and they were in the process of contacting the MFG to find out the status. I asked them to please cancel my order. The CS rep said, "no problem", and hung up on me. Wow guess they don't really want to be in business for long! "

"Very efficient in pre-sale and post sales follow-up. I needed an updated receipt for some add-on items to the order. I had it in my email in less than 2 minutes while I was speaking to Anthony at customer service.
I purchased a Canon 7D body and Canon 24-105mm lense. I saved $189.46 vs Photo4Less and $582.00 vs Best Buy. The delivery came sooner than expected for free shipping (4 days) by Fed Express.
I have purchased a lot of things online and these folks are real good to deal with. I would recommend them."
"Be careful doing business with these guys, it may not be worth the hassle. Yes, their prices are good, but they sell GREY MARKET goods with a "US Warranty" that is chancey. I bought a Nikon D7000 at what i thought was a good price. I asked if it had a US warranty and was told "yes". This is not a Nikon Warranty, it is a different company, CPS. Their web site and their sales staff never bothered to mention that the camera was "grey market". I only learned this after trying to register it at Nikon who refused to register it.
If the camera you get does not have problems this may be ok. If not, things then get "very interesting". YMMV.
After using the camera for a while and then buying a new lens for it, I discovered, the hard way, that the camera has a focus problem.
1) BPP refused to replace it saying that it was a warranty problem since it was past their 30 return window.
2) Nikon USA refuses to fix the camera, declaring that it is grey market.
3) CPS, the warranty company, has so far refused to repair the camera declaring that it is a Nikon warranty problem and that they should fix it.
Sounds like "Catch 22", right. I now have what is in effect a very fancy digital paper weight.
Update: 27 Jan 2012
After posting the original very negative review and making a last call to BPP (after several prior calls to BPP, CPS, Nikon, and even AMEX), they are now agreeing to replace (or repair, not clear yet), the camera.
I have sent the camera back to them and am awaiting the return of the new (or fixed) camera. Will update review when that process is completed.
