"I carefully checked the reviews of BestPricePhoto before I ordered and also called the company. I was told that the very expensive Canon lens that I was considering would have a full Canon warranty. However, after I purchased the lens, it arrived without a receipt and without a warranty card. I checked with the seller, who told me that the lens did have a warranty. However, when I spoke with Canon, I was told that BestPricePhoto was not an authorized Canon dealer and that the lens was not under warranty. BestPricePhoto will take back the lens without a restocking fee, which I suppose is to their credit. However, they will not pay for my shipping to them nor refund the $26 that I paid for expedited shipping despite the fact that they sold me a lens which, according to Canon, is not under warranty. So I am basically out $40-50 for this transaction. In addition to the cost, dealing with customer service was extremely unsatisfactory, which is why I am really writing this review. The first person that I spoke with was fine, although he continued to insist that the lens had a warranty, which does not appear to be the case. However, the second person that I spoke with,"Douglas", was first extremely rude and then hung up on me. I buy online quite a lot and am usually very happy with the services and products that I buy. But not with this company. I don't trust them and would not buy from them again."

"I ordered a Canon Rebel T3i thru bestpricephoto.com. The site had the best price for the camera. Ordering process very easy, and website is very informative. I called the customer service to track it later and their service was wonderful, got me the latest updates on the order. I got the item within a week of ordering way less than the shipping time mentioned. Highly recommended."

"Andrew, here. I am primarily going to review on their customer service and not the products because I had to make a sudden cancellation due to some sudden events.

*WEBSITE*
You see a wide selection of cameras, lens, etc. in various packages, but it is organized enough to see and understand. My ordering from their website was fairly easy.

(4/5); Organized, well-presented and easy to use. The amount of offered packages can be overwhelming for some people. Research your stuff before you buy!

*A STORY*
A day after of setting my purchase I received an email from Chris to call BPP in regards to my purchase. Standard procedure, I assume. Upon calling, Chris immediately offered warranty and various products such as batteries, and compact flash card. Now, for many people, this may be a sales pressure to them, but you do have that option to not accept any of them. Keep a cool mind and stay within your focused purchase. I agreed to some myself though. Everything has been confirmed and prepared to wait for my gear.

A few minutes after my purchase I realized I didn't need a compact card so I called their Sales Department to cancel that and I had the pleasure with Anthony to do that. He said that they would refund my $30. I will review the refund time later in this review.

So, about 20 minutes later, I had a call from my brother and he told me he needed money. Looking at my account, I realized I needed to cancel my order so I called Chris (under ext. 502). This had to be the most frustrating moment I have felt. It wasn't too long ago, but he shot me down saying I have to wait since the order has been placed and get a RMA. Logically, it does not make sense if I agreed to the 10% restocking for the immediate cancellation. To have it shipped to me just for me to ship it back would be wasted time and money for both parties. I was close to even make a dispute if things continued to be like that.

*E-MAIL SERVICE*
I sent an email to ****@**** about a cancellation. I have not received a reply whatsoever, and grudgingly waited.

A day after my purchase, I did receive an email of my purchase confirmation and order number. The email did state to call them for any changes. But under my assumption, the package was sent already even though the email said they would send another email about when it shipped.

I received my cancellation e-mail, two days after I talked to the Sales Department. They have stated it will take 2-3 business days.

(3/5); My email has not been replied, otherwise I recommend simply calling them since it is far more immediate contact. They do send email confirmations of your orders and the time of the purchase being shipped.

*PHONE SERVICE*
Through further pressure from my brother, I agreed to call them again and this time through their Sales Department. Now, their available times are strange if you are used to having constant service throughout whole week. You cannot contact them during the weekends and their times you could say are short in the week. I called at 1/16/12, and had the pleasure with talking to Anthony again. I asked him about the status of my purchase and luckily he said it did not ship. I asked about the RMA and he explained it thoroughly to me and was genuinely concerned why I asked. I gave him my story and he told me he would talk to the vendor to reduce the restocking and set up the cancellation. I called a day after and another rep told me it has been confirmed and said an email will be sent. He also referred me to contact ****@****. I do hope they reply to my email if I do send another one.

(4/5); I did have a problem getting shot down, but the service from the Sales Department has been more than satisfying.

*REFUND TIMING*
In terms of the $30 refund from the compact flash card, my bank account has been transacted at 1/13/12 and I received the refund at 1/18/12. I am assuming they do not work at the weekends. So, it has been 3-4 business days it took for the refund to be sent. They say it would take 5-7 business days, but it has shown to be much faster than that.

For the other refund, it was odd, but I received the confirmation e-mail saying the order has been cancelled and I should receive the refund in 2-3 business days. I should have received it at Jan 20 or 23, but instead, I received another e-mail which said the system accepted the refund transaction. I waited until Jan 27 and received my refund. All in all, I received it in 7 business days. On schedule.

(4.5/5); Considerable fast refund timing with the $30. The other refund is odd, but it has been received within 7 business days.

*CONCLUSION*
I received my refunds. I wouldn't be able to tell you about the products, but read both negative and positive reviews alike. Google and read from various reviews from sites like dpreview.

Overall: (4/5); This is the ending result for the customer service aspect in my experience. This is not about their products unfortunately, but again read both negative and positive reviews alike. Not just one or the other.

"I bought a camera battery that was defective the first time I used it.This was a Christmas purchase, so the camera and battery were not opened or used until Christmas. Once opened, it was discovered that the battery was not working properly. In order to get a replacement, I have to ship it back and pay for the shipping myself!! And they want me to insure it and send it with delivery confirmation, out of pocket expense for me!!
When I called, the customer service manager, Anthony, was rude, talking over me and interrupting when I called to ask about this policy. Then I was told if I wanted to return the purchase instead of waiting for a replacement that I would be charged a 15% restocking fee!

"I bought one 60d body only 1 week ago and I paid next day air shipping, more then 1 week later I didn't received my cam and they didn't email me telling me why not, I checked before I buy if the camera were in stock and it were. I DON"T RECOMMEND!!!!"

"The best company I have dealt with. I bought a Canon T3i camera and a 55-250 mm lens during the Black Friday sale 2011. I was searching frantically for a site that has this camera for less price. And then voila, I saw a link to this site at the bottom of a page, as if non existent. Navigated to the site and the price of the camera was $150 less than any other site with a free kit + free headphone + free earphone.
The delivery/packaging was perfect, no shipping cost and shipping time perfect. What more did I want.
The camera is awesome. Used it recently for a tour to LA without any complains.
5 stars without a blink in every category.

"I purchased the Canon EOS Rebel T2i with the stock lens. I used Pricegrabber to locate the cheapest price and it found BestPrice Photo.com. I reviewed the website and found the item I I was looking for in Brand New Condition. After ordering online I received the camera in perfect order within 7 business days. Shipping was free by the way. Excellent transaction and customer service was very personable at best. "I purchased a camera with lens and was happy with the product UNTIL I decided to return it and upgrade to a higher end item. It took me three days to get through to a person and then he was not helpful at all regarding information on the lenses I was interested in. I was told they would send me the information to return. When I opened the email, they were going to charge me $44 to restock the item even though I was going to spend more reordering a upgraded camera and lens. I ended up keeping the camera and ordering $1000 lens from somewhere else.They have good feedback because they bribe the consumer with free items for good feedback."

"I've had a great experience with BestPricePhoto! I have had a desire to seriously enter the photography business, but could not find a high quality camera for a decent price from a reputable and reliable seller until I found BestPricePhoto. Upon placing my order for my camera, they also helped guide me through all of the options for the other essential accessories. A few months later, one of those accessories stopped working and without hesitation, Anthony had a brand new one shipped immediately to me. Superior customer service which proves BestPricePhoto cares more about their customer than they do about penny pinching for all they can get."

"I ordered my camera and lens on 12/2/11. The initial contact was outstanding. However, the lens has been on backorder and I have been promised by their customer service 3 times that my lens will be shipped. The latest date promised was 1/4/12. I have not received the lens or communication on when the product will be delivered or responses to my voice mail. Extremely disappointed as camera was purchased to be used during holidays and still do not have the lens. The Customer Service Rep named Anthony did offer a refund, but also informed me when the lens would be in stock. Rather than opting for a refund, I accepted the date the lens would be available. FOUR TIMES!!!! Shame on me for believing this company after 3 times. After the 4th broken promise, I was again told that the lens would be in stock by Feb 1, 2012. This would now be 60 days after receipt of my payment for the camera equipment. I requested a refund on January 27, 2012 and was told it may take up to 5-7 BUSINESS DAYS for a refund. When informed of my comments on this website, I was begged by their customer service to improve the ratings. However, based on their continued poor service, broken promises and delays in refunds the ratings would only be lower. I would not recommend doing business with this company."
