"Unfortunately, not very impressed with quality of Sony camera or Central Digital's return/replacement policy. Spent $6800 on top of the line Sony Alpha 900 camera plus accessories in April/May. During first vacation with camera 2 weeks later (Mediterranean cruise), foreign object appeared in viewfinder after 200 - 300 photos. Since vacation ended more than 21 days after receiving camera, now have to be without camera while warranty repairs finished in Texas. Technically, Sony and Central Digital are living up to warranty. However, for that kind of money, I believe Sony/Central Digital should have replaced camera given the fact that problem occurred with first usage. Will look for different manufacturer and retailer for next purchase. "
"I recently purchased a digital camera. Central Digital had the best price I could find, plus offered a couple small free items with my purchase. The ordering process was easy. In addition, just after placing the web order I found a camera that I preferred over the one I first ordered. After a simple call to the customer service department, they quickly changed my order.
My only complaint was that I could not view the details of my order on their web site, only the status of the order. I would have liked to be able to see the details of my original order, and then that the customer service department had correctly changed my order.

"I had a less than optimal experience with this company initially. However, they did attempt to make amends and refunded the handling fee due to the fact that was not disclosed to me at the time of purchase and offered me a 3 year extended warranty at no cost. I still really don't agree with their attempts to call you after you place your order requesting that you give them a call in order to confirm, as they use this in an effort to lure you into purchasing overpriced accessories that are not really necessary. I purchased a battery that I was told was an extended life battery and it was just the same battery that came with the camera except a generic version. I may give this company a second chance, but I will be aware of their preactices."
"I ordered the Pentax x7 and associated peripherals from Michael. He was very conscientious and helpful, walking me through various options. I feel confident that my order will be processed and delivered expeditiously. It's now June 7, and the camera kit was delivered. One item was missing however-the TTL Flash. I called Digital Camera on June 3 to inform them of the missing item. The Customer service rep told me the reason it was not in the original order was because the TTL Flash was coming from another warehouse, and that another email would be forthcoming that day advising me of the scheduled delivery of the TTL. I have yet to receive the TTL Flash or the promised email. I will now have to oncew again call Central Digital and inquire as to the status of the remaining item."

"Purchased this Tough water- and sand-proof Olympus in anticipation of a vacation in the Caribbean and thinking I would hit the beaches and maybe swim with the fishes. Everything (almost -- see below) about the camera is wonderful and I have literally thousands of great photos to enjoy from it.
The only thing I would change is the Tough 8010's responsiveness. There is a significant lag between shutter press and when the viewfinder image returns. I suspect I missed a few great images.
About Central Digital: This my first purchase from Central and I uncharacteristically "stepped out there" with this purchase, because Central offered a $70 discount from MSRP and free shipping, plus a "free" starter kit including camera case (useful), lens cleaning kit (useful, but not for this camera with its concealed and protected lens) and mini-tripod (ehhhh? ... ).
That said, I received a "full factory pack" plus the free items in time for vacation and used it every day of vacation until I exhausted its battery (Okay, I DO wish the battery life was longer; nothing against Central. I did purchase a cheap off-brand battery and it's capacity is much less. Batteries can only be charged in-camera and the $5 clone was a cheap mistake. If you have had the Tough in a wet or dirty environment, you want to rinse it off and dry it before opening the sealed hatch to change batteries ... not likely while snorkling!)
Anyway, Central delivered the goods as described, safely and at an excellent price.
The only downside is because I usually deal with e-tailers like T***r D****t, N*wE*g and A****n (The ***'s are mine) and have become accustomed to multiple levels of rapid and frequent notifications about the status of my order.
Central doesn't engage in such detailed hand-holding (which may in fact be why they gave me a much better price than the others! Premium customer service carries a financial premium.)
I ordered on a Friday and it was Monday before I got a email confirming my order. I kept checking for an indication that the price had been taken from my card and ended up calling customer service on Wednesday. The rep said the order was being processed and he just needed to confirm it with me to send it on the way.
I got another email Wednesday telling me the order was shipped and with a UPS tracking number. Because I chose the standard (and FREE!!!) shipping, I was treated to the experience of watching my camera in slow transition from one regional warehouse to another. (Say, has anyone actually seen the camel caravans UPS employs to provide the very economical "free" shipping service to e-tailers? ;)
But, bottom line, I got a great camera, had a lot of fun with it on vacation, Central did everything they said they would do and I saved $70!
Would I recommend Central Digital? Yes, although probably not to some friends who might need more hand-holding" through the process.
I suspect I might have reassured myself at several points by spending a lot of time on the customer support phone line, but I decided I had rolled the dice with a retailer new to me and I would live with the results. It was a good gamble."
