"I ordered a digital SLR camera from centraldigital.com. I have not yet received my order, but the purchasing process was speedy and convenient. I had to expedite my shipping and upon calling I ended up having a pleasant conversation with a sales representative about photography and emerging technology. I even ended up upgrading my package to include a discounted replacement battery and memory card based on the recommendations of the sales associate.

I will say that the phone service was slow. I was was on hold for quite some time before being helped. However, once on the phone the service was excellent and the friendly conversation went a long way.

Prices at centraldigital.com are some the best I've seen compared to online or brick and mortar stores. I purchased my camera WITH a kit lens, table tripod, case, cleaning kit, and LCD screen protectors for $60 less than just the camera at a local retailer (or $85 less using Bing Cash back). I love to pay less and get much more!\

I would highly recommend this retailer.

"The service from Central Digital was sterling. Outstanding communication and the camera shipped as promised, packed properly and arrived sooner than expected.

The camera (PowerShot A480) is a good, easy to use camera that exceeds my casual family snapshot/movie requirements. I actually bought this camera specifically for its Macro and Super Macro capabilities. And those capabilities are absolutely incredible!! I took a picture of a dollar bill, and after zooming, I was able to peer into the very pores of the paper and closely examine the very fibers embedded in the bill. I can definitely state that if your looking for close-up photography, you cannot do better than the A480. Even at 5 times the price.

"Ordered a Garmin GPS--transaction went very well, shipping was very fast, the unit was brand new and the best price I could find anywhere on the internet. The GPS had a glitch in the software that caused two of the keyboard functions to not work. I confirmed the defect with Garmin and Central Digital (CD) gave me an RMA and replaced the unit very quickly. No hassles at all on the return exchange. Usually, a company issues an RMA and a shipping ticket for UPS/FedEx that doesn't cost the customer anything out of pocket up front. However, they required me to pay the return shipping and said they'd reimburse my credit card when they received the old GPS. Problem with this approach is that UPS doesn't put the shipping cost on the label, so how would CD know how much I paid and then how much to reimburse? So, I had UPS place a copy of the shipping label in the box to be sure they knew. I'm still waiting for the credit to post and will follow up to let you know if they stand by their reimbursement policy. I have no reason to believe they won't considering everything else has gone great!
Follow-up: It took another call to customer service but they finally posted my return shipping cost. This part needs their attention--if they can provide a S/H ticket along with the RMA this would fix this.

"I ordered a Panisonic Lumix camera over the phone and I am satisfied with the product I received. However, I am not satisfied with the level of information and service I received. I did all my research before I ordered and was prepared to purchase several items. After I was finished with a camera and battery I was asked if I wanted a memory card. I told the rep I had one that would he work. He assured me I need a new SDXC card as that was the only one that would work with this camera. It also carried a hefty price tag of over $100. I reluctantly ordered after initially saying no when the sales rep reiterated that I would not be able to use the camera until I got this card. Now after receiving the came the manual clearly stated I can use any SD card. This is not good sales service in my mind. However, after speaking with a customer service manager they did offer an extended warranty and a credit to my account for the inconvenience. I am willing to write this off as a limited experience due to the willingness to make me happy with their company. "

"I was required to speak to a sales person prior to my order being shipped. I understand their need to sell additional products but it wasn't an entirely comfortable conversation. I received my Canon D7 quite quickly after that however and it was new and perfect in every way. USA warranty included."

"I ordered a JVC camcorder from centraldigital.com as a gift and the sales rep suggested that I get a SD card with it. I agreed and he said I should get a 16GB card, for which I was charged 70dollars. even when I said amazon has these for cheaper, he told me that their card was special and faster and told me they have a low price guaranteed. when I got my package, the card was only a 8 GB card and there was nothing special about it. THE SAME CARD ON AMAZON WAS ONLY 17 dollars. (patriot SDHC class 6 8GB).

"This group of companies are horrible. I bought a TV from them before, and they said it would be shipped by UPS, instead they used a private shipper and I could not track my shipping,and it was more than a week late. That was from their central digital
branch. This time, although I suspected that it was the same company with a different name, I wasn't sure, so I took the chance and ordered a Denon AV Receiver, without a service contract. They refused to ship my order, until I spoke to someone to verify my address, as if I didn't know where I lived, and would not be careful when ordering something over a thousand dollars. I deliberately avoided them and they did not ship my order for more than a week. Finally they got me on my work phone, and was pressured to order a service contract. I adamantly refused. After about 10 minutes, the salesperson offered me the service contract for free, and I said YES. That was my mistake. They CHARGED my credit card for the service contract. ($99) When I found out, even before the order arrived, I called customer service, and spoke to a guy named Bryan Gordon, if that is his real name. I asked him to remove the charges, and he refused, continuously talking over me and would not let me speak. I stopped arguing, and asked him to let me speak, he did. He then said there will be a restocking fee for the service contract.I told him that a service contract is not a tangible item, so how could there be a restocking fee? He then offered the contract at discounts of $80,then $50,then $40. I told him at this point I am not buying anything else from them, even if it costs one cent. He then said, I had to wait until I received the contract papers,return them, and when they received them, he would issue a refund. I received the order, about three weeks late and it appeared that they had packaged the order and sealed the box, then stuck the service contract envelope in an opening in the box after they had contacted me. I fell out of the box when it was delivered. It is a miracle that it did not fall out before, and that would have meant no papers, no refund. I cost me $8 for registered mail, because I don't trust these guys. I still did not get my refund. I had to call again after I received my mail confirmation receipt. DON'T SHOP, AND DON'T BUY FROM THESE GUYS.

"I recently bought a Pentax K-7 from Central Digital. I had never done business with them before, but because they had the best price for this camera, I purchased it from them. I am always a little nervous making a large purchase on-line from a company I am unfamiliar with. I received my camera yesterday, as promised and on time and I am very happy with it. In addition to the great price, the shipping was free and I avoided paying the 9.75% California sales tax I would have incurred had I purchased it locally. Central Digital threw in, free of charge, a lens cleaning kit, mini tripod and a camera bag. The camera bag really is a nice one. Even without the freebies, I would have been quite satisfied with my experience with Central Digital. I will recommend them and I will not hesitate to buy from them again!"
