"Bottom line up front: The website/customer service representative lied to me about my camera having a USA manufactures warranty. Full Story: I ordered a Nikon D200 for $1388 from iBuyDigital.com on the 15th of November. I also paid $69.90 for the "1-2 day" shipping. I received camera on the 21st. The website claimed it came with a USA manufactures warranty. I called IBuy and was told that the invoice was all I needed for making a claim. I called the US Nikon Service Center in California and asked if this camera was covered under a USA warranty. The Service Center representative told me that it was a gray market camera and if I needed service, I would have to send it to Japan. All accessories were included with the camera: battery, charger, USB cable, video cable, software, and manual. I did not like how they lied about the warranty. They offered the camera at such a low price, so something had to be missing. In this case it was the US warranty. If you order from them, ask them what the side of the box says near the UPC. If it has (J), then that means it's from Japan and therefore a grey market camera. They just need to be honest."
"VERRY DISSATISFIED
PURCHASED NIKON D2XS ($4000) CAMERA ON 10-20-06.
WAS TOLD IT WOULD SHIP IN 4 TO 6 DAYS.
THEY CALLED ME WITH THE USUAL SET OF EXPENSIVE ACCESSORIES. WHEN I SAID NO THEY FOUND OUT THEY DID NOT HAVE STOCK. I CALLED AND ASKED FOR STATUS SEVERAL TIMES. NO ONE KNEW WHEN THE PRODUCT WOULD SHIP. ON 11-14-06 ONE OF THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE REPS SAID IT WOULD BE BEST IF I CANCELLED. I DID AND WON'T BE BACK TO THESE GUYS EITHER SHOULD YOU."
"I bought a Canon S3 IS from them. There were some complications, but they worked hard to make sure I was very satisfied with the transaction, which I am. They also were quick to upgrade my shipping for free when shipping out of the camera was delayed a few days. Contacting them by phone with questions was easy - no long waits or anything."
"They sent an email the day after I ordered asking me to call to "confirm". When I replied that they could ask me any questions by email but that I would not call, they cancelled my order without warning. Not trustworthy. I will shop somewhere else."
"Placed order yesterday, received an order number and an e-mail verification. The website specifically states the TV would ship in 48 hours and the item was instock. I got a call at 5pm from a representative calling to "verify" the order. He tried numerous times to sell me the $500 3 year warranty, which was a bargain at only $400 right now, and of course everyone gets it. I declined, and was then told that there was a problem with my order and he needed to verify my payment method, he then went on to tell me that the item is a bulk drop shipment item and won't arrive for three to four weeks... wow, how is that 48 hours and in stock? The price was great, too bad it's a scam just to get people to buy the warranty."
"Guys! Don't be fooled by those false positive feedback. They were written by store owner.
Please look carefully about those bad experience. All of them are kind of similar.
I placed an order on Sep. 27. My credit card was charged the next day. Then a long wait, I gave them a week (they said in stock item would be shipped within 2 days). Then I called and was told item out of stock. They cancelled my order. Now another two weeks passed. Still have not seen my refund. I have to seek help from the credit card company to get my money back. Will never buy from them again. Be careful!!!!"
"I placed an order for a digital camera on Monday afternoon. When I said I only wanted the camera in its factory pack and no extras, the sales lady made no attempt to upgrade, switch, or add to my order .She offered 2-3 day shipping at a very fair price.
Although she said it would ship the next day, the item was shipped late on Monday and arrived in Florida Wednesday morning.
I could have asked for better service."
"Ok. I am an experienced internet-buyer, but I ordered a $5000 Pioneer 1140HD Plasma from Dbuys.com. AFTER my order I read all these horrendous reviews on the internet.I WAS SO FREAKED OUT.
With that said, let me say that they answered all my emails within one hour and called me when the unit shipped. I got it today and it's a Grade-A unit (for those of you that know what this means).
Despite all the crap I read elsewhere I give them an A for price and service. Based upon my experience, I can only recommend them. You may email me to verify that I am not associated with them. ****@****"
"Selection and price was good, but READ THE RETURN POLICY BEFORE YOU ORDER! This group has no sense of customer satisfaction after the sale. My new LCD television arrived damaged in an undamaged box. In less than a minute with the customer no-service rep (thanks for nothing, Jim!) I was asked "How do we know YOU didn't break it?" Man, was I hot. To make matters worse, Sony said that since the item had physical damage there was no way Sony would repair or replace it. The estimate to repair it was 2/3 of the replacement cost. If you buy something from them that their return policy says you cannot return, keep the FedEx guy at your door while you unbox the product and make sure it is in working order.
BTW: This organization also goes by the name ibuydigital.com"
"I ordered a Sony DTR-7100ES audio/video receiver and the website listed it as "available 3-5 days". After 8 business days it still had not shipped and I hadn't been contacted about the status of the order, so I cancelled the order."
"Prices are very competitive. There was a delay and some mix up in getting the product shipped as promised which was a bit frustrating. But Sales Consultant Linda was very helpful and accomodating. There was also a price drop on the day I ordered and they credited me the difference. Linda made the shopping experience better despite the delay in receiving the product. The other persons in the support and shipping departments can be a little rude and short in dealing with the customer. However Linda was different. If you are to buy, ask for Linda."
"DBUYS.COM
I bought a JVC camera from them 3 years ago the transaction was easy with extremely fast shipping. I called and dealt with Brenda. The JVC was a dog from the start software problems, blocking etc. sent it to JVC New Jersey for repair. This was after 2 hours of recording.
Thirteen one hour tapes later it jammed and started devouring my memories. Well out of warrenty. Rescued my tape by dismantling the mechanism. That’s OK, this was my first and last JVC.
This April I called Brenda and ordered a Panasonic PV-GS300.
Shipped the same day.
I had it the next day (regular shipping) I’m in Connecticut, but that’s still good. The other New York guys tried all the add ons and pushed the express shipping even thought I’d get it the day after it shipped.
Bottom line I’ve had good experiences with dbuys.com"
"Fast shipping. Product was new in box. I was suspicious after reading some of the reviews here and resellerrating.com but I had absolutely no problems."
"The last product I bought from dbuys.com (Motorola PEBL U6 cell phone) came preused. It had privat photographs in its memory. The seal of the CD cover was torn (the package as a whole was not sealed). Furthermore this phone seemed to be targeted at the Thai marktet. The keyboard layout had (besides the English alpha numerics) Thai symbols and a preinstalled weblink to a Thai web page.
Dbuys.com's customer support is not reacting to my emailed complaint.
The phone should have been at my house (FedEX overnight) on a friday, but got there the next tuesday. Just like the trackingnumber...
I had previosly bought a camera from them. I got everything ok, but part of the shipment was delayed (backordered) for 8 days without them notifying me.
Summing it up: Don't believe everything they say ion their page ("Condition: Brand New,...") and don't rely on them being on time."
"While shopping for the best reliable price on a PV-GS500 camcorder, I visited ResellerRatings. IBuyDigital is no NewEgg, but at least half of the people seem like they're getting their stuff, and bobwhite2 on 4/27/06 3:49PM successfully received this very item. My experience was the same for purchasing the Panasonic PV-GS500 camcorder.
Ordered Friday night, Received an email from FEDEX Monday morning, the camcorder showed up 4 days later just as the wed site said it would. What I ordered is what I received -- new in the box, with sealed components and full accessories.
I would buy from them again."
