"I went with Constellation thinking that it would save money on my bills, it did not. My most recent gas bill was about 9 cents per therm more than if I went with Nicor directly. If I was supposed to review my account every x amount of months to keep getting the best rate, that's my fault. It also was not told that I'd have to do anything but sit back and enjoy the savings? My bill should always be lower than if I went to Nicor direct using Constellation. I would guess that you buy a block of therms from gas company and get a discount for buying in bulk, passing on the savings to customer, then keeping whatever's left for profit. If this was really protecting us from rate increases, I think it would be better sold as an insurance policy, not a savings tool. Also, it would be appreciated if you return the $50 cancellation fee to me. I don't expect it, but it'd be nice."
