"I had a very successful experience purchasing my Sony DCR-TRV340 Camcorder through dbuys. I researched various e-tailers through Bizrate.com and resellerratings.com and they had the best price-point when compared to other, trustworthy sites with whom I have good history. So, despite the bad rap I’d heard/read about New York-area e-tailers, I place my order with Belinda (ext 211) and everything went as planned. Camera shipped a day earlier than promised and arrived per the UPS shipping 2-day commitment. One thing, the UPC label had been removed from the original packing. This is affecting my ability to qualify for a mfg.’s rebate, but dbuys says they will help."

"After reading several reviews of other NY online photographic/video retailers i was very concerned but after reading the reviews of others about belinda and DBuys i decided to use them. I bought the Canon GL2 digital camcorder. All i can say is excellent truthful sales staff and no high pressure sales tactics.. I got my camera about 5 days earlier than I thought i would. Very satisfied would definetly buy from them again"

"After much research on this and some other sites I decided on the purchase of a Sony CD400 camera . One of the best dealers I found rated by price and reliability was Dbuys. I felt a price point much lower than theirs would be suspect so on Thurs morning (21st) I called Belinda at ext 211 and placed my order. I also mentioned all the renowned reviews of her I had read on Resellers. She went over some accessories and an extended warranty plan but as others have said there was no pressure to buy the accessories to"close" the deal. When I got home that evening and checked my email I had a conformation and tracking number from Dbuys. That was a big surprise since she said it probably wouldn't ship for a couple of days. So on Monday(25th) I received camera via Fedx "saver". Couldn't ask for better service than that."

"After deciding on a miniDV camcorder I searched the web for prices and the for reviews on the companies. Although Dbuys was not the cheapest, they were the cheapest with good reviews here. My experience with them was excellent. They did try and manage to talk me into an accessory pack ( it included a $129 battery, blank tapes, case and a filter for $99). I ordered on Sunday, got an email with the tracking number on Tuesday and they tried to deliver the package on Thursday (Fedex saver). No one was home and I had to pick it up on Saturday. Everything was there an in excellent shape. I'm very happy with Dbuys and would strongly recommend,"

"Ordered a Nikon Coolpix after reading the positive ratings here. Everything went very smoothly. No complaints. The only marginally irritating thing is the fact that they email you asking you to call back to "confirm" the order, which in reality is their chance to push more accessories. I'd much prefer to place the order online and be done with it. Nevertheless, when I did call they, they weren't pushy. I said "no" and that was it. I ordered on a Saturday, got their email and called them back later that day, and had the camera on Friday. Overall, I was very pleased and would order from again. "

I placed my order on the phone on Sunday 11/3/02 and the items arrived Tuesday 11/5/02.

Great price. Great service.

I do believe it helps to know exactly what you want to buy prior to calling, since the salesmen move volume.

"After a few disappointing cracks at the New York electronics arena, I decided on dbuys.com for the Canon Powershot G-2. An intense review of comments from resellerratings.com and others convinced me the risk was worth taking, and one I now do not regret.

I chose to contact the highly reviewed "Belinda at extension 211" on tuesday 10/29. After a quick check, she told me the item was in stock, took my information, and then began the obligatory accessory sales pitch. The refreshing thing is that there was no pressure- she simply addressed those items that I might need as I used the camera. I honestly got the feeling that she was selling the advantages rather than the product.

After explaining my tight budget, Belinda addressed the shipping charges. These, yes, are overpriced, but with the price of the camera at $539, I was still saving $193.00 over Best Buy's price+tax. I chose the FedEx saver option, with a 5-7 business day delivery. She explained I could have it by the weekend for $15 more, but I decided I'd wait. She then explained about the email shipping notification and some coupon offers for accessories she would include in the shipment.

The order was placed on a tuesday... i received no email on wednesday or thursday, and was getting that old feeling again, when the package arrived that afternoon. TWO DAY DELIVERY! I couldn't believe it. The shipment was well packaged and complete, although the discount offers she mentioned were not included.

I can't believe I received such low-pressure and courteous customer service from an online vendor, much less one from the New York area. This experience has single-handedly restored my faith--with proper research, of course.

My ongoing electronic purchases will always have dbuys.com as one of my first considerations, and I highly recommend them to anyone, particulary those who have been burned in the past. Thanks to Belinda and everyone at dbuys.com

"I researched many etailers and selected Dbuys.com based on product, price, and good reviews. I bought a Olympus D550 Zoom digital camera for $100 less than available at Staples or Circuit City. Good customer service, received a confirmation call the same day and the camera came in two days. No problems with supplier or camera. I am very satisfied and would buy again from this etailer."

"Synopsis: Great Outfit!!

Ordered an Olympus 520Z from DBuys on October 24th. Got the expected call a few hours later to "confirm" the order, at which time the salesman gently pushed some accessories, which I did not need and declined. I did not mind the confirmation call, and I don't mind a polite pitch to sell some extra stuff. He thanked me and said my order was in progress.

A few hours later I changed my mind about the camera I wanted. I felt like an idiot, but I emailed them and asked them to upgrade me to the more expensive Canon S330 and charge me the difference.

Another salesman called me an hour or so later to once again "confirm" the change, and once again push some accessories. I declined again, and he told me the change was made and it was all taken care of.

The camera was shipped the very next day and I received it by FedEx Express Saver 4 days later (I live in Oklahoma).

Everything was in perfect order, brand-new, factory-sealed, US warranty, the whole nine yards, no problems.

I would certainly order from DBuys again. Thanks!

"Overall I was pleased with this company for the excellent savings on the product. After placing my order for the Sony TRV-950 I got an email telling me to call them to verify my order (loss of time savings). While on the phone I was offered every last accessory possible. Like most people I ended up buying other products. By refusing the 4 year warranty one time I was able to get it down to $199.99 which is worth it. The thing that bothers me with this company is that the sales person doggedly pursued me on accessories to the point of belittling or exaggerating the products weaknesses or strengths in order to get me to buy more. Much of what he said was incorrect according to their website. He said the stock battery lasts only 30 minutes, Sony lists it at 90 minutes and in use it easily goes 60 with heavy usage. Another example has to do with spending $1800 on a camcorder and not putting it in a titanium case so I could "throw it over a ship". Although, if I bought the 4 year warranty I could drop the camera and it would still be repaired. I would buy from them again because of the tremendous price savings but as usual, buyer beware. Know ahead of time what you want and what to expect from the manufacturer. I will give the credit for delivering a US made product (not gray market) with US warranty at a huge price savings."

"Placed an order on 9/19, person taking order was very short and rude. Told him I was only ordering one item, and wanted to keep the total including shipping under $700.00. He immeadiatly asked "Why?", and I told him it was being purchased on an education grant. He had no comment after that, spent five minutes typing, and quickly said "hope you enjoy it" and hung up....never gave me a chance to ask any questions or even for an invoice number. I ordered the item via 2 day Fed-Ex, and that was a week ago. Have yet to receive the item, and my credit card was charged on 9/20. Received no confirmation email. Nothing even shows up on the order tracking page of their web site. I did get a reply to one email, though......they told me they couldn't track my order unless I provided an order number (that's literally all the email said "need order number to track") - BUT I NEVER GOT ONE! If I actually receive the order tomorrow, I'll be happy just to have to it all said and done. I would not, however, recommend anyone ever actually purchase from these people. It's worth the extra money to know you're actually going to get what you pay for! I consider myself a level-headed rational person, and I know this goes beyond bad business ethics."

"I felt that a follow up on an earlier post was appropriate. I purchased a Nikon 4500 from Belinda at x211. The earlier post had to do with the ordering process and gave dbuys high marks on prices and courtesy. I had called prior to my purchase with quesions which were answered thoroughly and politely. Based on the site reviews, I ordered the camera which was delivered on time at an excellent price. Since then, I called Belinda twice with post purchase questions, again answered completely. I have no hestitation whatsoever about recommending dbuys as an excellent source and Belinda, in particular, as the sales representative."
