"Excellent service. Item was delivered two days after my online order. A follow-up 'phone call the day after from dbuys offered sale prices on accessories but there was absolutely no pressure to buy and the agent was very polite and accepted my refusal without argument. Got a good price on a digital camera and item was well-packed. "

"I had a hard time slogging through ratings looking for a cheap Minolta Dimage F100. This company seemed quite reasonable and buying from them didn't seem that big a risk.

I ordered Saturday, got a call Sunday. He was fast talking but low-pressure in trying to sell accessories.

Unfortunately, an e-mail was never sent out confirming shipment, but it still arrived ahead of schedule on Jan. 2.

There was a dead pixel on the camera. The customer service woman was rude, to say the least. After insisting that they couldn't exchange, she said they'd accept it but would charge the restocking fee. She dropped this proposition after putting me on hold for 16min. Just shipped the camera for $15, negating whatever savings I found from buying from Dbuys.com

*Update*: They shipped the camera 1/27 and arrived 1/29. It is a new replacement, no problems with it yet. Although it has been a month, i finally have my camera.

"based on the ratings from resellertatings, I went a little higher in the price to order a Nikon 5700. Due to late date in ordering, I did it over the phone. The sales man was very polite and did not attempt to upsale me at all. 2 days later, the camera arrived right on time and new in the box. I will definitely do business with them again."

"I am overall satisfied with my purchase of a Minolta 7HI. I placed my order via the internet and received an e-mail confirmation later that day. I did not appreciate the calls at work and the three e-mails from SCOTT DAVIS with customer service.He stated that he was notified that I had tried to call him and he was returning my call. I had never called him and did not have any questions about my order. I know that this is common practice with online stores trying to sell extras but it is still annoying.I sent a reply via e-mail asking him not to contact me further and if I wanted any extras I would contact him at that time. I did not receive a notice of the order being shipped but I received the camera in 3 days. There are no problems so far with the camera and I feel comfortable recommending this site."

"BUYER BEWARE! If you order from DBUYS.COM please read the experience that I had.

On November 18, 2002, I placed an internet order for a Canon GL2 camcorder at a price of $2117. A couple of days later, Scott Davis called to offer some specials that they had.

Scott offered a 5-year extended warranty. I asked Scott if it was a MACK. He said no, it was a Canon warranty. He said that if anything happens to the camcorder, Canon will pay for the shipping costs and Canon will make the repairs. In addition, Scott said this warranty was half the cost of the MACK at $199, which I agreed to buy.

When I received my merchandise, the camcorder was what I ordered but Scott added $100 to the sale price. The “Canon” warranty was not a Canon, but rather a MACK, which Scott had told me it would not be. The MACK warranty says in writing that if I send it in for repair, I will also need to send them $20 for the return shipping cost.

I called Scott and he said he must have made a typo on the $100 additional cost of the camcorder and made me more “deals” to make up the difference.

Scott said that Canon does the repair work for MACK on Canon cameras and I do not pay the shipping. I emailed Scott three times asking him to confirm in writing what he is telling me on the phone. Scott will not confirm this in writing.

Before you buy any “special deals” from Scott Davis at DBUYS.COM, have him email you the details BEFORE you commit over the phone. Scott Davis is someone that I would avoid. If you must deal with him, DO NOT TRUST HIM OR BELIEVE ANYTHING HE SAYS!

"Did quite a bit of searching on the web for a Minolta F100. This is a common camera, so I found it advertised on most online electronic sites. I than went to resellerrating to check on the ratings for a number of vendors that I was debating on.I chose DBuys because of the high score.
I placed my order on line, and chose standard ground shipping. I received my order at the price quoted, as promised and in the time advertised. I was very pleased with the no hassle approach. This is an excellent online company to do business with.

"Was very leery about mail order purchases after having been burned by two of the "New York Camera Bandits". After reviewing the favorable ratings on Dbuys, I decided to try them. Bought a Canon Powershot G3 on-line on Sunday for a very reasonable price. Received a call back the next Monday to verify addresses from Abe? at ext 217. After a very low pressure question for accessories which I politely declined, he told me he was releasing the order. A bit strange, since when I checked my email I already had a shipping notification. Camera arrived today, exactly as ordered, new and complete. Good combination of price and service, I would definately buy from Dbuys again.

"I called to ask if they would match protekdirect.com's price on a $500 digital camera. It was all of a $19 dollar difference so I figured they should be able to do it. The salesman at the other end of the line was very rude. I asked if they would match and he said no because ProTekdirect.com "makes their money by overcharging on shipping".
I looked at the two websites to compare, took me all of 5-10 seconds because I already had them both in front of me with the shopping carts and shipping calculated. In this period of time he said very coarsly "Well are you going to order or not!?!?".
I stayed calm and let him know that Protekdirect.com's shipping was $15, while his shipping was $30. (so basically what he told me was not only not true, but the exact opposite was true, but I didn't say this to him). His immediate reply was "Well why don't you just go shop with Protekdirect!!". *click*
HE HUNG UP ON ME!
I may not be an expert on customer service in the retail sales world, but I'm pretty sure this is something that should never be done. Unfortunately I never got his name, or I would warn you people of who to avoid if you must do business with this company.

"This company is ok if you are willing to suffer. I had to wait 3 weeks to receive my order without any notification from the company.
On the second week I had to call them to see what was going on. Apparently, they think it is ok to
sell items that are not in stock and then bill you immediately! Their 72 hour policy is a LIE.
If the item is not in stock they will NOT tell you. The website is not updated frequently and the availability of the item does not mean they have it. In summary, it wasn't worth the stress to save a few dollars.

"Very Satisfied even after return : I ordered my Camera (Minolta Dimage 7i) on 30th Nov. 2002 (sunday). Sales person asked me if I would like to purchase any accesory but didn't pressed on buying. I received my camera on tuesday. However, the camera was defective since it was unable to read the CF card. I talked to camera manufacturer, my sales person in dbuys and then a customer service in dbuys. I was immediatly given a return authorization number and told to ship everything back with all the original stuff. After they received the camera, they shipped it within 72 hours and I received it back on the next day after they shipped. The replacement camera was new and worked fine.

I had to bear the shipping expenses to send the camera. However, they shipped the replacement camera to me without charging for shipping.

I would definitely recommend them and will be purchasing from them in future.

"I submitted my order for Canon G2 digital camera on December 5, and received the confirming email from Scott (ext. 210) on December 6. I just replied his email because his line was always busy. No respond from his after that, I was worried. When I checked my order on last Sunday (Dec 8), the camera has already arrived in Cleveland. Got it on last Monday. I am very satisfied with their service and I suggested my friend buying a Sony TRV-240 from dbuys.com yesterday. "
