"I ordered a Sony DCR-TRV80 Digital Camcorder, from dbuys.com on Wednesday, and received it on Friday! I upgraded the shipping from ground to second day. I checked several other websites, based on price, before coming to dbuys.com to purchase the Camcorder. Dbuys.com is not the cheapest, but they are very honest, in what they sell! Out of 5 stars, with 5 being the highest, I give them 5 stars, in every category! I will shop with them again..."
"Here is a copy of the email of I sent Dbuys customer service on 3/15/04 which gives the relevant facts:
"Dear Sir/Madam: I ordered a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400 on the phone on Monday, 3/8/04 at about 5:00pm Mpls. time. The salesman picked up on the first ring. I told him that the website indicated they were in stock but I was concerned because I knew they were in short supply and I asked him to verify that he actually had the scanner in stock. He put me on hold to
check availability and came back on and assured me he had 2 left in stock. I asked if it might ship the next day and he said it might. I received the email confirm about an hour later.
I called same salesman on Thursday, 3/11 and he picked up on the first ring. I reminded him of the transaction and I told him I had not received a tracking number yet, thus indicating no shipment had yet been made. He took my name,
put me on hold and without telling me what he was doing patched me through to your department. All I received was a voice message that customer
service was closed-goodbye-even though I was calling during what you term your normal business hours. I immediately called same salesman back at least 25 times during the next couple hours and he never picked up-every call went to his voice mail.
I called customer service again on 3/12 near the end of the day but still within business hours and got the same "we are currently closed"; and ending with a "goodbye".
I called customer service again today, Monday, 3/15, at 12:18pm Mpls. time and got the same message about being closed and to call back during regular business hours (stated to be M-F, 10am-5pm).
And why do I bother to recite all these facts? Certainly not because they would be a surprise to you. This is obviously the way you do business when things don't go smoothly. I bought my Canon camera from you 6 months ago,
you had it in stock, you timely shipped and everything was fine. BUT boy I
can see from this current transaction you are only a fair weather vendor. I
believe that the salesman took my order knowing he had no scanners and that it wouldn't ship, just to lock me in so he could ship when he did receive the
scanners. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves.
I had originally ordered the scanner from another internet seller but when it didn't ship within a few days I called to cancel; they accepted my call, acknolwedged that they had no scanners and that they were on backorder and expected in at the end of the month, apologized for the inconvience and within minutes of me sending an email to confirm cancellation they sent me back an email thanking me and saying they hoped I would try them again in the future (which I will). They were gentlement and handled the transaction like a legit brick and mortar store. After that cancellation I called my salesman who I had talked to just before cancelling the order with the other seller and I told him of that transaction and that's when I asked him to confirm that he really had the scanner in stock.
Anyway, I bothered to put all this down in writing so I can copy and paste
it into my comment that I will leave at resellerratings.com and into a
letter to VISA if I have to write to them in case you have charged my account and don't immediately issue a credit.
ACCORDINGLY, PLEASE IMMEDIATELY CANCEL ORDER NO. 369491 AND DO NOT CHARGE MY VISA ACCOUNT; IF YOU HAVE CHARGED MY VISA ACCOUNT PLEASE ISSUE A CREDIT
IMMEDIATELY."
That is the end of the letter. When I received my VISA bill naturally the charge was on my bill so I wrote a dispute letter to VISA and I'm sure they'll straighten it out but what a pain; that I should have to go to all this time and trouble just because I was trying to buy something from someone.

Dbuys was fantastic and we will use them again and gladly refer them to friends.
Our selection of the Olympus C5050 was great. We've used it extensively the past 8 months and like it more and more. It's a great camera.

"Con: Can not contact anyone from DBuys at all!!! Tried calling both the toll-free number and the local number, but it's either busy or no one picking up. Tried emailing them, but my messages got bounced back to me several times (no messages got through). No email notification of shipment either. I had to call FedEx and guess the shipment date (i was lucky to guess the right date) to find out that my DVD player was shipped.
Pro: Easy on-line ordering. Product works fine (thank God! I can't imagine being able to contact them if it didn't work).
Conclusion: Check out their return policy before you buy! They will not pay for return shipping if the product is defective (shocked)!!! I am surprised when I read this on their website. If you do buy from them, you better hope that there is nothing wrong with the product, or else you are going to have to do a lot of work to get it fixed (no refunds or exchange on many open products)! I would almost say that if you decide to buy from them, don't expect any return or exchange from their company. I would probably not buy from them again. "Ordered one Nikon CP 5400 with an extra battery and a Minolta Scan Dual III. Ordered via phone and the ordering procedure was very simple and straightforward, no pushing for things I didn't want. Trackng number was e-mailed to me the day after my order.
A few complaints: They charge more than normal for shipping. I wanted 2nd day Fedex and the sales person told me that the scanner and camera had to be shipped separately, thus the shipping was 39.90+44.90 = $84.80! Everything arrived as promised in the morning 3 days after ordering (1 day processing + 2 days shipping to Bay Area, CA), but in one box, which should have made the shipping cheaper. Also the packing could have been better; the padding was very sparse. Everything was in good order though. Also, the extra battery was not Nikon brand, but still priced as one ($49.99). In the end I saved money, but the shipping charges ate up some of the savings. "
