"I just placed my first order this minute so I don't know anything else about this company, but I think it is interesting that when I tried to look at the user reviews to find out why it only had 3 stars, I could never get past the first page of 5 star reviews. Every time I clicked next page I would end up at the product reviews. Only after I placed my order could I access all the reviews. The reason for the 3 star average is mostly bad customer service, return policy and shipping issues (or non-shipping).
Having said all that, I was able to access the company reviews 3 days later with no trouble so maybe I was doing it wrong before. Also, right after I placed my order Directron called to verify and said it would ship soon and I would probably have it by the 14th. And, yes, today (April 14) I received the remote I ordered. "4-6-08 Ordered an Abit Motherboard.
4-7-08 Order charged and confirmed.
4-7-08 Recieved tracking number for order.
4-8-08 I got my package and was happy. Opened up the box and noticed the CD was in between the pages of the manual. Noticed the "Factory Sealed" sticker was stuck to the outside of the booklet. The elctro-static plastic around the mobo was NOT sealed. Inspected the Mobo and it was dusty. There was dust on the card slots, and "fuzz" in some of the heat sinks.
This was either sitting out OR had been used. So my trek begins...
1. I called them and spoke with a CSRnamed Arman. He said I can return it and he will send me a new one....but wait...that IP35-E was the LAST one they had. So I need to talk to sales to see if I can get something else. Send me e-mail instruction on how to make an RMA.
2. Transferred to "sales" and spoke to a woman. Explained the situation. She asked if I bought it on "Clearance or Quicksale" I said no. Got transffered.
3. Spoke to Timothy. Not to be mean but had such a horrible Asian accent I couldnt understand 1/2 the stuff he said. He was nice and suggested an Intel board...or an Asus board, because again the last Abit IP35-E was sold to me. I said there is neither that I want because of price and/or features. Come to find out he was giving me personally advice because he is Returns not sales. What?? He tells me I need to talk with "George" who is the CS Manager. He cannot transfer me so I need to call back, but he gave me an ext.
4. Called George. While it was ringing I went to the website to try and order the board again and when placed in my basket and it said there was no more. Ok...just wanted to make sure. Spoke with George and was told thats odd because this Mobo in our system has only 1 sale attached to it...so it SHOULD be new. I assured him wasnt. He said he will talk with his distrubtor becaue they must have sent a used board. Whatever. He asked if I needed a refund. I said no, I need a Mobo. I told him there were no more IP35-E's according to 2 people. He put me on hold for a minute, came back and said he went to the warehouse and did find 1 more. He checked it himself and said it was new. Said he needs to speak with "Marco" who is gone for the day but will get with him first thing in the morning, to get this new Mobo out to me, and get me info on how to send this one back.
So I should be getting a call this morning. I just find it odd that I was shipped a used board and then told by 2 people they had no more...then told they do. I am not going to judge them until this comes to a conclusion.
4-9-08 Spoke with George. Sadly everyone else there is not very helpful. George said he can ship me a new mobo today, and I can send the old one back, but I need to purchase it again, and they will credit me when they get my old one. Called later that day and spoke with a "Khai". Asked him to verify the contents of whats being shipped and when. I got an e-mail

4-10-08 Got the new Mobo. It IS new. Looks fine. George sent me what I wanted. Now shipping the old one back for credit.
