"AVOID this company!
I sent my laptop battery to this outfit in May 2008 for replacement of the Li-Ion cells. They confirmed receipt a few days later, and they promptly billed my cc.
Next, I waited a couple of months. Not a single update - e-mail or phone. I finally called. I was told there were no cells, but that within two weeks my order would be done. Fair enough.
More weeks went by. No notifications. I called a couple more times; as always, on hold forever and constantly got hung up on by their phone system, which shunts you into a voicemail box eventually that was mostly full, so it didn't even let me leave a voicemail!
Finally I got a human. Still no cells. Still no change. Again - no updates of ANY sort ever. So I requested order cancellation at long last.
They returned *A* battery to me a couple of days later. It wasn't even mine! It was someone else's, with their name on it!
I waited two more weeks and called back, since my cc had not been credited yet even though they had promised this. I actually (eventually) got a human, who told me their accounting department refused to credit my cc because... it had been too long since I placed my order!!! Instead, they wanted a Paypal account for me so they could credit that. (Mind you, NOBODY EVER CONTACTED ME from this company to let me know this.) I said I do not have a PayPal account and certainly wasn't going to open one for their convenience, so they said they would mail me a check.
Two weeks later now, and have tried to call them repeatedly to make sure check was sent. I have been unable to get a human; their phone system again either does not pick up, or dumps me into the generic voicemail box after an eternity on hold.
This company is a NIGHTMARE. I will be disputing the charge with my cc company after trying for months to be patient and cooperative, but this company seems to have nothing but total contempt and dishonesty to offer. I recommend in the strongest terms that you avoid them like the plague they are."
"This place has went into the toilet. I had them refill a battery for me last year, they did a good job.
This year, I sent the battery in and it has never come back. They ignore calls and e-mails. It is a black hole.
Do not send anything to this company - they will ignore you and take your money.
It looks like another company that cannot handle success. Too bad."
"I don't know what is happening with this company. The only reason I sent my battery there is because in the past they were "good". I was very satisfied with the turn around of my old battery. The last one lastet 2 years, so I placed the order. As of all of you, this time they got my money, my battery, and I have a hole in my laptop (no battery). I called them, email them, and I am about to stop by the office (I reside in Texas, but I have a short trip to the Burbank area) to see if they exist or not. At the moment I went from a "extremely satisfied customer" to a "very disatisfied customer". I had more batteries to send, but lucky me I did not send for more. I paid the price for a new one since I never heard from them anymore.
Now, on September 15 I was in Los Angeles and decided to drive by Battery Refill. I found the place, I spoke with the representatives and they seem to be having problems with Li type batteries. They promised me my battery back in the next two days after shipment (expected one) arrive. I have my battery two days later as promised. Again, they were having problems with the LI type batteries. Hopefully, they will be able to complete all orders soon. I used this company in the past and my orders were back usually in about a week, so I believe they were having some problems."
" On July 17, 2008, I ordered a battery cell replacement from eBattery at www.batteryrefill.com . I received, from them a paid shipping label, with which I shipped off my original laptop battery. Their website claims a 5-7 business day turn-around time from receiving to shipping. I had received an email from them on July 25, 2008, claiming they had received the battery I sent to them to be refilled.
I originally contacted them by phone on August 14, 2008. I figured that given their quoted turn-around time, I should have received my battery back by then. When I called the merchant, I was told by an automated message that all their representatives were busy, and so I left a voicemail message. My call was not returned, though I did receive an email the following day.
The email I received said that their shipment of battery cells had been delayed, and would arrive on August 23. It would take 3-4 days to replace the cells in my new battery, after which they would overnight mail the battery back to me. They offered me a refund at this time, but I consented to waiting.
On August 29, I sent the company an email, requesting a status update on my battery, since I had heard nothing about the batteries being replaced, nor about my battery being shipped. To date, I have received no response to this email.
On September 4, I once again attempted to contact the company, by phone. This time, I was again told all the representatives were busy by an automated message. When transferred to voicemail, another automated message said that the mailbox was full. So I was unable to leave a message.
Since I can't even successfully contact the company, it seems like the company has taken my money, and now refuses to do the service they charged me for."
"I have been waiting until April to receive my battery. I have been in contact with them every month and am getting the same run around as everyone else. I reported them to the BBB and i too will be seeking a lawyer."
"I placed order towards the end of March - after a month I contacted them. They said they expected shipment of batteries from China any day. Two weeks later, called again and got same response. End of May called again - they are polite LIARS. Assured me that the battery was going to be rebuilt and sent that week. Mid June - new story about change of currency and still waiting on shipment. End of June and end of patience - I asked for my battery back and a refund - was told they would do that. 2nd week of July, I called again - they said they did not know how to do refunds but that they would send me my battery. At that time I disputed charge with credit card company - they are disputing my chargeback and called me last night (AUGUST 27,2008 over 6 mths after order was placed and 2 mths after I asked for refund) to tell me the battery is on the way. I called them and told them I no longer needed the battery - nice guy there has notes from every call. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!"
"Had the same problem as all the others. No return call, get stuck in the e-mail loop, etc. Finally got through today, they refunded my money via paypal. Here is a cell phone number for the supervisor - ***-***-****. Call it and depand a refund. Also, they are owned by ebattery, located in southern california. good luck!"
"Oh June 19, 2008, I ordered a replacement battery for my IBM600X laptop for $59.00. My credit card was charged on the same day. By the end of July, I still had not received the battery, so I called and received a recording telling me to leave a message and someone would return my call. I received no call back. I sent 3 emails to them between August 1 and August 11, with no reply. Today, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I believe that it is fraud to charge the credit card before the merchandise is ready to be shipped. I wish I had heeded the other warnings about this company. DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE! AVOID THEM!"
"I am looking for and address for the company. I plan to start a class action suit aginst them for their poor and ilegal sales ways. "
"very dissatisfied with the service to say the least. Ordered and paid for a combo batteries for a Gateway 9500. Only one battery delivered the the excuses began...wouldn't be so bad but I had already paid for the batteries and money deducted from my account. Next no one will answer any of their phones concerning where's my battery..Called June, July, and now august..have left my phone Nr on their answering mach..no luck. so my next action is to call the LA BBB. If that is what everybody else did. anybody has any suggestions would appreciate it. crappy service"
"Keeping it short and factual: ordered a refill for my laptop battery. After paying the mandatory "2-way priority mail", I received a Parcel Post mailing label. After a couple of weeks waiting for a return shipment notice, I called them. (Email was ignored.) No cells in stock, due to a "prior big order" and the "terrible tragedy in China". Was promised that my order would ship in a couple of weeks when new cells arrived. New date came and went. I called back, and was given a different date, so I cancelled my order. Was promised that my battery would be returned, and my money refunded in 3 business days. Just in case, I started PayPal's complaint procedure (the window of which was due to expire). I got my old battery back, but no refund. Throughout the process, eBattery apparently ignored all email coming from both PayPal and the LA BBB (which I contacted shortly after eBattery apparently ignored PayPal). PayPal resolved the issue in my favor, and the LA BBB gave them an F rating for repeated lack of response.
I had good luck with them in the past. I don't usually tend to write many on-line reviews, let alone negative ones. However, this experience was bad enough that I figured that I should let folks know."
"Sent my Thinkpad battery in March 12,and they confirmed receipt March 19. Still no refilled battery back. I've called once a month and been promised repeatedly that they would ship soon, but were waiting for batteries. Now I can't get a response to either phone messages or email, so I have filed a complaint with Better Business Bureau and with VISA."
"I have no battery. They got my old HP laptop battery by paying the postage for it. I had to dispute the credit card charge before getting my money back - but no battery. I'm sure its been refilled and sold to someone else. Their current webpage shows a $6 higher charge for refilling my battery, but they never asked me for more money. Only excuses about lack of supply."
"On apr 29 2008 I placed my order for a battery refill for my HP computer. This is Aug 1 2008 and still no Batt. I have called many times and only gotten the response that there were no batteries in stock and they were waiting for another shipmentThe respobnse I got on 6 25 was that they would ship by july 7. Calls since then have not been answered nor have they made any cll backs in response to messages left.
I think it is time to take legal action since they do not seem to want to communicate with us.
Are we being scamed??"
"Battery recharge for Thinkpad X22 battery May 2007. After 10 months the battery died. I returned the battery April 2008. No returns to my e-mails or phone calls. I was able to speak with a very nice technician on June 18, who advised me it would be shipped July 2.
September 24 2008- Received an automated e-mail stating the battery is being shipped.
October 1, 2008- Received the battery! It has fully charged once so far with no problems.
December 8, 2008- cells swelled within the battery and cracked the casing. Had a really hard time removing the battery. Waiting to hear back from customer service.
February 23, 2009- recieved a replacement battery, which appears to be new one made in China. It's been charging for 6 hours now and is at 49%. We'll see how this one does"
