"My battery is like a new again. Rebuilt battery really works. It took longer than I expected but I was able to talk to someone every time I called and check the status. My Gateway battery looks OK. I can see the case was opened and glued together, but I don’t think it is a big deal.
It was overall great experience. They sent me $5 coupon code along with my battery. The code is “EBAT1QJ4K”. I recommend this company.

Feb 22 2008: receive battery in mail. Finally works!!!
Misc Notes:
Echo the comments of others regarding the somewhat messy glue job - there's a 1mm gap in some places, and a wedge-shaped chip (small, sunflower seed size) missing from part of the battery case.
After receiving the battery the first time and having it not work at all I started thinking about claiming a refund. But that would leave me with less than what I had started with - since the battery originally worked for at least a few minutes and at that time didn't work at all.
I wonder what the company policy is for those cases. Seems like if they ruin a partially working battery the consumer should be given the chance to purchase a new battery at the lower refill cost. At least that's what I was prepared to ask for. Glad it didn't have to go that far.
Seems like they are working the problems out but still have room for improvement. Maybe I underestimate the issues involved in refilling batteries, but it's surprising to me that there is not more competition for this kind of work. I can see them losing business in a hurry to someone who is just a little faster and more reliable."
"I decided to try batteryrefill.com and ordered a battery refill for my Gateway Solo 1450. With somewhat mixed reviews I wasn't sure what to expect, but the cost was cheaper than a new one and I liked the idea of my cells being properly recycled. Before sending my battery in it would not even get through the boot process. Here is my experience:
I received a mailing label as a .pdf 24 hours after I was charged. I received an email stating they had received my battery 8 days later(PA to CA). After another 10 days, I recieved email that they completed the refill. My battery arrived at my home 4 days later.
I was dissapointed to see that the battery case was now "lumpy" as if the cells didn't quite fit right. Also, the case was not glued together properly and was coming apart in places. I could actually see the ends of the cells. I didn't want to wait to go through a warranty process so I glued it back together with some superglue and c-clamps. It now fits in my laptop OK.
After following the instructions to fully charge and discharge 5 times, I get about an hour and a half from a charge. I can't remember what the run time was when the computer was new, but I'm sure it was probably about that.
My overall impression of this service is that it is fine if you are willing to wait for a solid two weeks and you don't care what the battery looks like when you get it back. Hopefully the glue issues I had were an unusual. I am happy that my old cells were recycled and I can now use my laptop all around the house. I'm not sure I would use the service again, but it satisfied my needs for this computer.

"I ordered a laptop battery for a Gateway M305CRV. BatteryRefill sent me a battery without me sending mine first. Unfortunately, it did not charge. After requesting a RMA, they called me promptly, and after making sure I had followed the proper charging procedure, they agreed to a refund. I promptly sent the battery back using the provided prepaid postage, and within two weeks received my refund. I'd rather had a battery that worked, but overall am satisfied that they handled the problem promptly and with integrity."
"Excellent service for Sony Laptop at half the price+/-. Had to return 1 of 2 batteries since it would take charge, which got misplaced, but once we got someone on the phone the mater was taken care of in a few days. We are about use their service again, for DeWalt power tools. If we as satisfied as we are with the Sony Laptop batteries, we will be very happy."
"The battery they refilled works very well so far. As they specified, the replacement cells gave it a much longer life. I am impressed with their service! I really like the environmentally conscious nature of their business.
I know people posting mostly complain here. I just felt that I should leave them a positive feedback. Batteryrefill service is safe for the environment and also it's made in USA. We don't see that often nowadays. I highly recommend batteryrefill.com.

"I just received the reply from batteryrefill.com regarding my recent experience with them in which they state that their policy is that they will only refund if they get the battery back to remove cells. This is not stated on their website page, only "what have you got to lose, 100% money back guarantee for 30 days. In looking further, I find if you click on "more information" on the bottom of the page, you can go to another page which states the guarantee, Had I done so, I never would have done business with these people. They rendered my battery no better than before with their service. Now they want me to return the battery to them so they can remove "their cells" and render my battery completely useless.
Thanks a lot guys. Looka t the rating they have of four something percent out of ten, and you can see what type of organization you are dealing with.

"I think battery refill is an excellent idea and great for the environment. More importantly, it worked great for me. I have used those generic compatible batteries. In my opinion, my refurbished original battery works much longer and better than the compatible after market batteries. Battery refill cost was about the same compare to the aftermarket batteries that I found on Internet. Only thing was that it took a while to get my battery back from them, but I was able to talk to someone every time when I called. I highly recommend battery refill service."
"DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!!! They have had one of my customers batteries for over a month. I have emailed and called several times, the last time I called the rep laughed and acted as if they could do as they pleased."
"After reading the reviews here, I was slightly worried about placing an order with BatteryRefill.com. Nevertheless, since the batteries I needed for my Thinkpad T21 were available for purchase (rather than exchange), and since the one battery I had was completely dead anyway, I decided to to go ahead.
I placed an order for two batteries, one main battery and one UltraBay secondary battery, on October 14th. I immediately received a confirmation by e-mail. My credit card was charged on the same day.
On October 20th, not having heard from them since, I started to worry a little bit and sent an e-mail to ****@**** asking for an update, and if possible, an estimated delivery date.
While I did not exactly receive an answer to my questions, I did get the following boilerplate e-mail on October 23rd:
"Your battery has been carefully taken care of, and you will soon be sharing the benefit of 20 to 40% longer battery life in one single charge compared to an original manufactured battery. We recommend you completely charge and completely discharge a minimum of 5 times so your battery cells will reach their full potential"
Notice that it doesn't actually mention that the batteries were shipped (and that the text talks about a single battery, which did worry me a bit).
Nevertheless, the two batteries did arrive on October 28th, double-wrapped in bubble wrap inside a standard fixed-price USPS cardboard envelope. The package made it all the way to Japan with barely a scratch on it.
A quick visual inspection revealed that, as I expected from previous reviews, one of the batteries could have been resealed better -- there was an obvious hole in the glue line -- but they did both fit perfectly in my laptop, and the imperfections are completely invisible once the batteries are inserted, so I couldn't care less about that.
Then the real test came. I proceeded to charge and discharge the batteries to see how they would fare.
As I write these lines, I am about to start the third full discharge cycle. I found that the Intel Boot Agent Setup screen, which you can get with Ctrl-S at boot time (after switching startup to "Diagnostic Mode" in the BIOS Setup), is very handy for discharging: you can access it before the Thinkpad evaluates its battery capacity, and therefore it will run even if it thinks your battery is completely dead... until your battery is REALLY discharged). Now, ACPI reports the following numbers:
Main battery
------------
design capacity: 43200 mWh
last full capacity: 43870 mWh
design voltage: 10800 mV
remaining capacity: 43870 mWh
present voltage: 12504 mV
Ultrabay battery
----------------
design capacity: 34560 mWh
last full capacity: 37400 mWh
design voltage: 10800 mV
remaining capacity: 37400 mWh
present voltage: 12459 mV
Well, the capacity of the battery has been going up gradually with every cycle, and on this third cycle it went above the "design" capacity. I assume it will go up a bit more with two more cycles.
Already I could use my laptop for over 3h even when wasting as much power as I can (PCMCIA card, USB, screen on max intensity, CPU at max, etc.), and if I go all the way to reduce power consumption, my tests show that the laptop should be able to run for over 6h.
So... the bottom line, I guess, is this: don't expect red carpet customer support, and don't expect overnight shipping, but do expect to get batteries that deliver in terms of powering your laptop.
I can't comment on their ability to deal with other brands, but for Thinkpad batteries, I'll give them a thumbs up. I will gladly do business with them again. I will probably trade in my old battery after all."
"Batteryrefill.com was the lowest possible battery price for my battery, so I sent my battery to be refurbished. The refurbished battery is holding charges very good. I wasn’t expected any good use of my old laptop. It’s over 7 year old and the battery was flat dead. It’s now working longer than 2 & half hour average with USB Wifi on. I can’t complain getting over 2 hours battery running time with this old laptop.
I was skeptical before placing an order. However, it worked out great for me. The whole process took around 3 weeks for me. If you can wait for few weeks, I guess it is worth it.

"The refilled battery works very well so far. As advertised, replacement cells gave it a longer life. I am getting close to 5 hours and I am impressed. Price is very reasonable too. I contacted Sharp but they don’t even sell batteries for model. I recommend this service."
"I sent my battery for an eMachines M6805 to be refilled October 17, 2006, did not receive it back until November 17 in non-functioning condition after making an inquiry about its status, sent it back to be re-worked and once again had to contact the company to determine its status. Received the battery again on 12-27-2006, still not working. Went through the online RMA process and once again had to contact the company to determine the status of the RMA process on 1-24-2007. Decided on receiving a refund, shipped battery back to be restored to original cells. Battery was returned, but refund has so far not been issued. Avoid ordering from this company.
Finally received a rebate on 10-4-2007 almost a full year after the order. Be sure they can work with your battery before deciding to buy from this company."
"Me and my wife both have thinkpads (x22 and x24) and the old OEM batteries were hardly holding any charge. So I first tried batteryrefill.com in March, 2007 and it took me almost a month to get my battery back. However the good news is that it now lasts almost 4hrs.
So I sent my second battery in May but this time received it back in only 10 days (Btw I live in the mid west). And now I am able to get 4+ hrs under linux on my x22.
I highly recommend this store.
Edit: Here are the details of my refurbished battery...

"I really needed a good working battery for my work. I called the manufacture. The new batteries are unbelievably expensive. Who is going to pay that much money just for the battery? Laptops nowadays are so cheap. With that much money, I would rather buy a brand new laptop. I checked on the Internet and I found batteryrefill.com. They offer refurbish service for my Toughbook batteries. The price was reasonable compare to manufactures crazy price. More importantly, serviced battery works very good. These guys saved my laptop. I recommend this service. By the way, they sent me $5 discount coupon with my battery. If anybody needs this, email to me."
