"Battery shipped to these folks in December, returned in late January not working. Returned to them in early February. Still there. Repeated emails since have resulted in excuses, not battery. Finally gave up and just bought a new battery. "
"I refilled my battery pack twice in last three years with batteryrefill. I understated the increase in running time with my new battery. The maximum running time that I had seen in the past with brand-new batteries (I have installed three brand-new batteries made by different vendors.) was just under 1.5 hours. After my first refill that they did three years ago, I saw only a slight increase to just over 1.5 hours. The latest twice-recelled battery ran for well over 2.5 hours on its sixth discharge cycle (with the display backlight set at 66% of maximum). I am impressed. Thanks again. I hope that the service life does just as well. I highly recommend."
"Not satisfied. This company really needs to update their Guarantee.
The BatteryRefill.com website claims: "Guaranteed 20-40% longer running time." After doing 8 full discharge cycles with my refilled IBM X31 battery, I still get about an hour less usage than I did with a brand new battery.
Now get this. When I called to ask for a refund or replacement, they told me that the only way they would do anything is if I sent in my battery AGAIN. They will then rip the poor battery pack apart for a second time, put back my dead original cells, reglue it and send it back to me so I can be refunded.
I really can't afford another three weeks with no battery, so I'm now stuck with a poor performing refill.
UPDATE AND COMMENTS AFTER EBATTERY RESPONSE:
I just checked through the batteryrefill.com website again. It looks like they listed the standard battery capacity of an IBM X31 at 4000 mAh, and calculated the increase in capacity based on that figure. As far as I know all X31's actually came with a 4400 mAh battery (including mine).

"They received my battery on March 20th and I just got it back today - April 28th. In a word, they are SLOW. I did email them last week and to their benefit, they did respond within a day saying that the battery had been finished the previous day.
The battery casing looks all chewed up. You can see small marks all the way around it where they used some sort of tools to pry it open. You can also see how they glued it back together. I appreciate that they need to take the casing apart and put it back together but it looks pretty amateur. There's also 2 new dimples sticking out of the bottom of the battery that were not there when I sent it in.
If I had to do it all over, I'd just buy a new battery. I'd only use them if it was my only choice. "
"Great idea and excellent service. Turn around time was a little longer than I expected. However, VERY courteous staff when I called. My laptop now works with the battery alone for long... long time. I would order them again."
"I sent my Averatec battery to batteryrefill in the beginning of March and I received the battery back in this month. I called twice to check the status in March and I was able to talk to support people. He said cells were back ordered. It took over a month to get the battery back. Well,, I couldn’t find anybody sells batteries for my laptop so these guys were the only option for me. I contacted Averatec for the replacement battery but they don’t manufacture anymore. The refilled battery works great. I think batteryrefill is a great option for people like me."
"Don't order a battery refill if you need it any time soon. They've had my battery for over 30 days now, and emails still get excuses and requests to wait longer. At least they reply. Note that most credit cards limit your dispute for non-shipment to 30 days from the statement where the charge appeared.
This wouldn't be so bad if they would state that the turnaraound time is many weeks, and not charge you until they ship. The charge in advance puts me in a position of having to demand shipment before my dispute time runs out."
"we sent 64 laptop batteries to be refilled in 2006. It is now April, 2007 and we still don't have all of our batteries back. We were sent our batteries approx. 2 months after they received them. When we got them back 98% of them would not hold a charge for more than 30 min and some would not hold a charge at all. We sent the batteries back and they continuted to 'work' on them. The communication was horrible. They would not respond to emails or phone calls when inquiring about there return date. They would promise to return a phone call or promise a return time and nothing would happen. The batteries were shipped back in multiple amounts. We are still waiting on over 20 batteries to be returned and it has been over 6 months for this process. I would never recommend this company for refilling batteries. If things go right-good for you. If things go bad, be aware! They make promises they don't keep!"
"I was googling for my laptop battery and I found batteryrefill.com. They had the lowest price, so I sent my 3 year old laptop battery to them to be refurbished.
The whole process was simple. I printed out the mailing label they emailed to me and I mailed it out. I got an email after about a week said that they received my battery and I got another email about a week later that they have shipped my battery. It took a while to get my battery back to me but at least I knew what was going on. It wasn’t that bad like other people said in here.
The battery I got it back works better than when it was 3 yrs ago. I checked out HP website for the battery before I placed an order. Guess what? The price on hp.com was $129. I refurbished my original hp battery through batteryrefill and I paid only $55. That is less than the half of hp.com for exactly the same battery. I am happy with batteryrefill service."
"I have been looking for replacement batteries for my laptop for quite while. Batteryrefill was the only company has reasonably priced the batteries that exactly I was looking for. Their warranty is no-comparison to any other online laptop battery retailers (1 year replacement warranty with no extra shipping) and 30 days money back guarantee. It was too good to be true so I called their 888 number to make sure if I was dealing with a real company. When I called, a live support person answered the phone and I found out everything on their website is really true. I placed an order and I received my orders after little over 2 weeks. I actually called after a week to check the status. I was able to talk to support people and they told me that they will ship my orders by priority mail service. My recommendation is that call the company if your order is delayed, because they said they are using US post office parcel post and it takes long time and they didn’t charged any extra for priority service. I agree that whole process takes longer than I expected but their battery run time is incredible. I wasn’t even expected my laptop can run with a battery only for over 4 hours. I really recommend this company only if you are willing to wait. The final outcome was very good for me."
"These people SUCK. Not a word from them re: the order, I had to call. They said the battery would ship in 2 days (that was 2 weeks ago). Nothing!
No communication or anything.
A WASTE OF MY TIME.
Do not bother with this company. What a hassle.

"The Batteries seems to work great. Both of the IBM batteries I ordered works over 2 hours and half under heavy load. I guess it will run well over 3 hours for just normal daily usage. I think the basic idea of the company is extraordinary. I just wish customer service and shipping departments were up to par. I tried to check on my order after a week of no response and I finally decided to get a hold of someone on the phone (no one updated via email either) to find that my order had not shipped. Manufacturing issue? Shipping backlogs? Regular 2 week processing time? I don’t know, I wasn't told why. In my opinion, they are doing the right thing but they seem to be not very well organized. I will recommend this company only if you want to save money and you are ok with wait."
"I am highly dissatisfied with their service in general and product quality. I actually put in the order in June but didn't complete the order till late August. When I received the battery I saw it was cracked on the side and also I repeated asked for the IBM X31 battery and it seems this is for the IBM X30. Maybe it was the way they put the battery back together (looked like they used glue to seal it up again) that caused it not to fit, in either case I did not want it anymore and wished for a refund. This is where the real headache came. I sent the battery back in mid September, but Ms. Bong kept assuring me that it was going to be taken care of. They owe me $55, let alone the shipping I had to pay both ways. Where is my refund check?? "
"The battery performance is absolutely amazing. I don’t know how they did it but I just love 4 hours of freedom now. I highly recommend for anybody with older laptops. I saw on the ads that some of the new laptop’s battery running time is sometimes over 5 hours. I was seriously thinking about getting a new laptop because of the battery. I really changed my mind and I saved big money and time, because I don’t need any faster new laptop and I don’t want to waste time to move all of my files, installing new programs, etc, etc. etc. I am just plain happy now. I hope this battery will last years like what these people said. The new refurbished battery has one year warranty. I guess it is defiantly worth it for even just one year with guaranteed long last battery performance. I will try these guys again in the future."
"Apparently they cannot re-cell the battery that fits in the Dell 5100. I sent mine, and heard nothing for several weeks. After calling and sending an e-mail, a customer service rep told me they were having problems with that model and they would keep me informed about what was going on. After waiting for about another month without hearing anything, I sent another e-mail, and this time they told me that they were unsuccessful with it. The battery was returned and I got a refund. These people are not crooks but I found the whole thing a bit unprofessional. It bothered me that I never heard from them unless I called or e-mailed. Plus, my battery was totally unusable when I got it back, whereas it at least ran for almost an hour before I sent it.
The moral of the story is: (1) make sure beforehand that they can service your battery, and (2) keep better contact with them than I did. The battery re-celling service is a great idea though, and I would recommend them if the customer service was better."
