"AAAAmazon is where you should shop, eBBBBay is nothing but eBBBag of tricks....thieves.....even their modus operandi is stolen.....from those clochards who joggle three empty matchboxes on the street, taunting people to guess where the ball is, pretending that they "don't know each other", just like eBBBay is "independent" from "sellers" and "couriers" (all dirty thieves "working" together)."
"what is ebay management doing? there are all scammers as seller all around your site. take a caution early or you are going to be trash"
"I think that ebay is the worst website I have ever tried to sell something on. So much easier on Craigslist. This will be the last time I ever sell anything or buy anything on ebay again. It is the biggest hassle, first off Pay Pal is the slowest website to ever transfer your money and ebay is the slowest on even getting it to paypal. I had no problem with sending it away and they received it but it was over 2 weeks later that I finally got my money back and in reality I had to pay for shipping. Another thing that is dumb is that they put in tiny print there is a fee. I don't mind paying a fee but they should tell you before hand and not in small print after you have published it. It takes way too long to get your money to even do this, its good for people that don't mind when they get the money but I wanted mine in the year of 2013. I do not suggest using pay pal or ebay for anything, go to craigslist I have sold things on there so quickly and got my money that same day I sold it."
"I nearly got scammed $2500 by a shady listing on ebay's site. I contacted the email listed on a 2800+ , 100% feedback seller's page about purchasing an item and was sent a fake ebay invoice to pay for the item (very convincing looking message too)
Buyer beware, certainly, and I did my part to dodge a bullet. I contacted ebay customer service out of goodwill to prevent others from potentially getting scammed, but before I knew it the customer service representative was telling me I was wasting her time. I'm sorry for having morals, ebay."
"I Been an eBay member for the last 10 years always been happy I had some problems before with some sellers and ebay always came thru with a refund ebay. eBay got great buyer protection policy and great tools to keep fraud away been buying on eBay for the last 10 years always been happy."
"EBAY has gotten so greedy and power hungry, that they allow buyers to be scammed if the seller makes them big bucks in power seller sales. I received some knock off perfume and contacted the seller who, along with ebay, demands I pay for return shipping. Sellers can scam buyers and trust that the majority will not pay out of pocket to return, and the seller and EBAY scores at your expense. I even left negative feedback for seller and ebay removed it because I also mentioned EBAY'S failed Buyer Protection in demanding scammed buyers pay to return shipping...getting burned by the seller first, and then by ebay. Insult to injury. SHAME ON EBAY. I did pay to return it with tracking, for the principle of it all, and ebay removed the feedback. How can we trust feedback when ordering from sellers if ebay removes honest and helpful issues with 'power sellers"....it's all about money and a very dishonest place to buy ;0( Didn't use to be this way."
"ebay.com monitors its Sellers with explicit reviews on merchandise not meeting posted decription or specifications. One incident ocurred immediately within a normal timeframe ebay.com reviewed my complaint, and money was refunded. I have been a ebay member since 2006 made and over 98 purchases. They are my favorite for shopping for merchandise and computer parts."
"eBay's customer support in a recent dispute was without a doubt the WORST I have EVER received in 20 years of Internet shopping. I am done with eBay. I should have stopped doing business with them when the stopped allowing sellers to leave feedback on buyers."
"I was in an all out bidding war for a week, I finally win the item for my client and literally MOMENTS later before I could pay the item disappeared! apparently it was flagged as an inappropriate item, an AIRSOFT GUN, but it's a STAR WARS REPLICA?!?! how can they flag a science fiction item, it doesn't EXIST?!?! I was poorly informed by 2 gentlemen who barely grasped the English language that IF the item is ALLOWED after investigation then it can be REPOSTED, meaning I'll have to bid on it ALL OVER AGAIN. completely unprofessional, unwilling to help me AT ALL, and was REFUSED when I asked to speak to a supervisor. WTF?! at some point in the chain if command in their customer service is there no competent ENGLISH SPEAKING EMPLOYEES?! I literally spend THOUSANDS of dollars on eBay, it a HUGE resource for my business. this incident has cost me $200 out of my pocket. where's the compensation?! ahhhh eBay... where the customers always WRONG. "
"I recently ordered a puzzle off Ebay which was advertised as complete. After spending 10-12 hours assembling it, I found out it was actually missing a piece. I filed a complaint and received a refund, but was only refunded my initial purchase price and not the return shipping. I lost my time and $7 in shipping because of a misrepresented item. After finally finding a number for Ebay's customer service, I called and was essentially told to take a hike. Leaving negative feedback in a situation like this is a near-useless gesture, especially for a seller who receives several hundred feedback per month. This kind of shoddy customer service from Ebay is why I avoid the site as much as possible now. I'd much prefer to do business with Amazon who actually strives to take care of their customers."
"I sold a Gibson Les Paul guitar on eBay from Hawaii via standard post. I let the buyer know the shipping was going to take 3-6 weeks. The buyer complained saying that something was wrong and that I did not actually send an Item. Then the buyer escalated the case. eBay instantly refunded the buyer in full an expected me to pay for it. I have called and explained my situation 10 + times to many people and specialists that eBay has directed me to. Each call takes about 45 minutes to get to someone that actually knows what they are talking about. Finally they said I should fax them proof that I sent the item (as if the tracking number wasn't enough) I called the shipping company I used to send the guitar, they sent a fax to eBay of my receipt. 5 Days later I called again, eBay never got it. eBay told me to fax it again and assured me they will be looking out for it. In the meantime eBay has frozen my account and I'm getting threatening eBay messages saying if I don't pay they will report my account to collection agencies. When the Fax finally went through, nothing happened. Now eBay was telling me I have to wait for the package to be delivered before they can remove the charge. Once the Item was delivered I called back again and the specialist told me everything was taken care of and I had nothing to worry about. A week went by and I still had threatening emails sent to me. I called back again and eBay said that my case was declined and that my Guitar is on the way back. It's has been 2 months since I shipped out the guitar and I still don't have it back. I asked an eBay specialist "So basically you guys screwed me over." and the specialist replied "Well I wouldn't use that language." I paid the $480 that eBay scammed me out of to avoid harassment and I still have messages telling me account is on hold. I am tired of being Harassed, threatened, lied to, and scammed from eBay. They will never see my business again."
"Worst experience ever as a one time seller, added so many fees and the help center tried to explain but I don't speak Indian so that didn't help. Paid bill canceled account and will just stay with Craig's list. Good luck to all new takemymoneyebay sellers."
"Ebay has lots of great deals. It takes time to dig a bargain."
"I bought a dryer for mothers day. The seller's add was of a new dryer. It was not. The dryer had been sitting in a warehouse for years. When installed it broke. We had to pay to get it repair. The EBAY resolution sided with the seller in the end. I have deleted my account from Ebay. Lesson learned!"
"Absolutely disgusting policies that are unfriendly to any seller below the million dollar a year mark.
Canceled all my listing without warning because my account is in California but my IP with Verizon runs through Texas.
They told me if I was a larger seller they could review it but was not able to indefinitely. 100% seller for 2+ years.
Also froze all my working capital without interest for 6 months.
Absolute monsters."
