"I ordered an item from a seller on eBay on 6-Jan. The shipping was advertised as expedited and the cost was $9.95.
I didn't receive the item until 15-Jan. Expedited shipping takes a maximum of 3 days. I left a negative review for the seller stating it was due to shipping time.
The seller contacted me and stated it was the post office's error, offered to refund my shipping, but made it contingent upon me changing my review to a positive one. That isn't how ratings work. If the seller didn't agree with the rating, he or she could have replied to the negative review through eBay’s system, could have explained it was the post office's fault, and then stated shipping he or she would refund my shipping. Instead, the seller called eBay, demanded they remove my feedback; they did without consulting me and have left no option to leave new feedback. Then, the seller contacted me again and stated they removed my feedback, complained my feedback was unfair and I knew it, and stated I was going to be paid back through "karma". I told the seller I would be disputing the shipping charge with my credit card company. It was advertised as expedited when it wasn't received within 3 days.
I called eBay to complain to their feedback department about the seller’s gratuitous messages and eBay’s removal of accurate feedback . I spoke to Victor. He stated their eBay employee removed it because the item had been delivered. I don't think they bothered to read the contents of my feedback before removing the review. The review was accurate and eBay should have never removed the feedback. Instead, they should have advised the seller to reply to the feedback (so new buyers could read it) and explain the reason for the delay and the refund of shipping. I asked Victor to reinstate the feedback option so I could leave new feedback considering the unprofessionalism of the seller. He stated once removed, the buyer can no longer leave new feedback. He stated eBay would address the seller's e-mails with the seller and that is all.
Buyers and sellers on eBay rely on accurate feedback when making purchases. It is part of the seller's advertising as well as eBay’s. Buyers and sellers expect reliability, integrity, and trustworthiness from eBay. If eBay is removing accurate feedback at a seller's request, obviously eBay cannot be trusted.

"eBay customer service and Vehicle "Protection" Plan (VPP) program does not help their customers. They promote "Top Rated Trusted Sellers" and allow them to show 5 stars (not sure how that happened). I was able to find out, unfortunately after the purchase of a vehicle through eBay, that the sellers dealership actually rated F with BBB and 2.8 stars on Google review. Now after choosing to buy a vehicle from this seller because of eBay's "trusted" recommendation I am stuck with a vehicle that needs a new motor (issue was not disclosed). This is from an eBay "trusted" seller/ dealership who deliberately disabled the check engine light and hid the engine issue. An approximate added cost of $5,000 and eBay VPP refuses to cover the situation because of an umbrella stipulation in the small print, which does not cover vehicles over 10 years old. BTW this is a 2003, so a 2010 would be covered under the same situation. This is the first and last time I purchase a vehicle from eBay. To all reading this, this isn't the first time this seller does this and eBay continues to allow them to be portrayed as a 5 star top rated seller.eBay does not protect your vehicle purchase, so read the fine print before you decide to purchase your next vehicle on eBay."
"EBay’s policies are in place to allow buyers to scam sellers. If you plan to sell her cross your t’s and for your i’s. Any deviation let’s you lose both your product and money. Policy loop holes seem to be designed to allow buyers to make bogus claims and keep both the product and the money with no validity or merit. "
"EBAY FRAUD AND PRICE FIXING. I believe there are a few sellers in China that control the worldwide markets and eBay. They have sales and marketing agreements to inflate and control prices and disclosure/representatiions for ALL PRODUCTS on eBay. These people control everything including Ebays profits, shipping costs, listing fees, protecting sellers (not buyers). Ebay is owned by a few key individuals. The vast majority of the stock is owned by specific people with overseas companies. This is the largest fraud operation I have ever seen. I occasionally run into a honest person that have represented their items for a fair price including shipping. It’s virtually impossible. They have millions of items for sale under different linked user names. There are a few people in China, Russia and a few other countries that own Ebay, PayPal, the money processing company in Europe (I do have specific details) and I look forward to receiving your reply. They also control Ebay’s MONEY BACK GUARANTEE! There is absolutely no money back guarantee to protect buyers. EBAY HAS NEVER GIVEN ANYONE ON PENNY BACK. Ebay actually makes money on their guarantee. The only way is to catch a seller because they have agreed to my terms and conditions I SENT THEM BEFORE I PLACED MY ORDER. Then, if they say yes, you still have to go through Ebay hoops and wait. Ebay states there is buyer fraud on Ebay. I would like just one documented example. Buyers go through hell to attempt to get their money back. I’m sure it’s possible to abuse the system. I want one case? I have now documented over 1000 sellers and items that are fraudulent. I have reported items and sellers. To date I have seen no evidence of the “fraud protection department” doing one thing to stop fraud. I could go one forever. Waiting for a honest reply. Ken"
"They say "eBay Money Back Guarantee Get the item you ordered or get your money back."
What they mean is you're screwed. Blatant fraud. No money back. "
"I sold a item on ebay at end of Oct. The buyer picked it up, it was a large item, loaded with forklift, signed receipt. Days later the buyer messages the item works but not to his specifications. He takes the item apart, send pictures in ebay, then wants to return the item. Ebay sends me a email to provide shipping label. Item weighs 2000+lbs, he took states away. A week later ebay does not look at facts, closes case, and refunds buyer, is able to keep item and ebay charges a fee of $123 for sale on top of all. This is very unacceptable out over $7k. Contact many attorneys for civil action class action. Please offer your advice, if you have the same please tell us your story ebayreturnitemfraud.blogspot

"EBay is not a good site if you are just starting out either. in very begining when you sell something can't take up to a month for you to get your money.they hold it until seller gets item and takes another week for them to take hold off your account.when they take the fee out they can mess your bank account up.plus free are 30% of what you make there is PayPal fees shipping fees final listing fees and listing fees.and when someone wants to return something you have to pay a $8 return fee.plus your only allowed to sell 10 item a month.took me 14 years just for the selling limits would get better but they dont.eBay don't care about there customers."
"Bought heating pump from them received it broken, posted negative review of them but it does not appear on the ratings ,why ?
And I'm now blocked from my eBay app !!!!!!!!"
"I ordered a necklace, received it broken, I informed eBay, received information to return it. It cost me $14.65 to return it, necklace was 20.00 something. Over a month received necklace back as not picked up. By that time my account had been closed. So I spent around 30.00 for nothing. It was my first and last time dealing with eBay."

"I've been an Ebay customer for 15 years and a seller for about ten years. In March of this year Ebay changed it's polices, forcing the selling of items using the Buy-It-Now option to aromatically relist after 30 days. This led to high relisting fees – 35 cents per item (most of my items, trading cards, sell for $1.50) – which I told them I cannot afford as a small seller. I've tried to daily monitor my account and cancel listings before they auto relist, but some days I'm busy and items then relist. When this happened last month I canceled the listings the next day and asked for a refund of the listing fees. They told me they would do so, but went ahead and charged me overs $120, mostly in listing fees.
Today I contacted them and they just argued and claimed that there are no notes in the system showing I had called, but that they would not have credited me in any case. I said I will stop selling and buying. They don't care. I looked at their community boards and there are many notices from other sellers complaining about his same issue. "
"If you sell items for eBay beware. If you don’t sell that month still beware. eBay tanked a large amount from my account. I called and they offered a refund. Almost a month later. Originally telling me
Up to two weeks. My accounts overdrawn. My bills unpaid because eBay has not assisted in speeding up their MISTAKE. Three weeks not without my money. It’s absolutely ridiculous and if this is how EBay runs their business shame on them for screwing over a seller. I will be deleting my account as soon as it allows me because it denied me to do so. Instead of a quick solution eBay pushed me off onto PayPal so they didn’t have to deal with the issue anymore. Screw eBay "
"I'd had some good experience with Ebay several years ago... but recently I used them to buy a refurbished I-phone (Diamond Wireless-3rd party vendor) after updating my new address info online and by phone support. I ordered phone online and even after confirming my new address w Ebay phone support, it was sent to the old address 100's of miles away. I immediately notified all (Ebay and their 3rd party vendor-Diamond Wireless) that the ship to address was incorrect as soon as soon as I was e-notified it had been mailed (wasn't scheduled to be delivered for 4 days via FedEx). I had asked Ebay and Diamond Wireless to have it returned or re-routed to the correct address and Ebay said "no worries"... file a claim when you get notif it arrived at wrong address. The clueless person at Diamond Wireless said, "Oh just mail it back and we'll refund". Ebay supervisor claimed it was covered by some kind of "built-in" delivery insurance (pure lie). Diamond Wireless is even worse than Ebay... caveat emptor. I did notify Ebay and Diamond Wireless again when FedEx sent me notif of delivery to wrong address and Ebay immediately denied claim. Poor customer support and supervisors who simply lie to cover their rear ends. Ebay and Diamond Wireless are very simply crooks in my opinion. I ended up taking a day off work to drive 400 miles round trip and spending $50 on gas to retrieve the package from the new homeowner and mailed back to Diamond Wireless w return notif. at my expense. DW still tried to hang onto my $$. CAVEAT EMPTOR. If you buy a refurb phone on Ebay beware. I ended up using Back Market, not Ebay, and I got an excellent product with excellent support. I would give Back Market 5 stars. Ebay gets no more business from me."
"ebay customer service who say they have seller protection is a complete lie.
I sold a beautiful silk scarf, the buyer who had 0 % on feedback as a new buyer, scammed me. She purchased my item, a few days later filed a return. She first wanted a return due to me not wanting to provide a reciept because it had store credit on it with my cc info. Knowing she couldnt get a refund this way, the buyer stated damage. Ebay made me return accept. I recieved the item a few days later, it was really damaged nothing like i sent it. I have photos dated to prove it was sent in good condition at the post office. Ebay manager Sheila, said they are not a " marketplace" and kept putting me on hold while speaking because she couldnt answer my questions nor state what i said back. She just had many pauses and started speaking about other topics.
ONly thing i was told was that i can wait 48 hours but most likely it will hurt my seller account for trying to make justice since this was a big scam hurting me, and that i should just return the money. I asked what are my chances and was told slim of winning the appeal. They abolished my hopes and made me take a hit as a new seller. I am so hurt by ebay. This is the end of good reviews and recommendations to them. "
