" It seems as though this company has got their stuff together. Their recent performance has been much better than, say, a year ago.
I was somewhat concerned about ordering through them (through amazon.com), but after reading reviews here it seemed like they got their act together. I ordered a 10" sub which is risky considering if its not in good shape on the outside then it doesn't sound good. Ordering electronics is different, because a sratch doesn't affect performance.
Anyway, the sub came in brand new condition, unopened, with all the original mounting hardware. It was indeed brand new.
Before I purchased I contacted them through amazon to make sure the product I was getting was indeed new, straight from the factory, and not used or opened. They responded in about 48 hours and told me it was a brand new product.
The communication was good and the product was exactly as advertised - couldn't ask for more."

Amazon provided them with the wrong shipping address and I didn't look at my confirmation email closely enough to prevent them from shipping it to another state. I called Amazon and they contacted Etronics, who contacted me the same day I called Amazon. They apologized for the error even though it was made by Amazon and promptly shipped a replacement order, before knowing whether or not the original item could be picked up and returned to them or not. "This is absolutely the worst online experience I have every had. I placed a multiple item order on 2/27/2007, at the time their website showed all items as available and In Stock. They quickly processed the charge to my credit card immediately. I was notified AFTER I received my partial shipment that one of the items was placed on back order. A month later on 3/27/2007 I called them to inquire on the status of my order, the CSR appologized and said it should have shipped yesterday but for some reason it did not. He promised that it would be shipped that day via UPS overnight. On 3/28/2007 they claim they shipped it DHL Ground. On 4/2/2007 they claim that DHL has misplaced several packages but I should receive it by 4/6 via reshipment. It is now 4/9 and they have yet even ship the product.
If you don't mind a reseller to charge your credit card months before they even ship you your product then you should do business with etronics.com"

I ordered a 400 disc DVD changer from them and received it just fine, but when I hooked it up, it kept “crashing” much like a computer and would “lock” on many functions. This, of course was during a weekend and I wanted to get my new A/V system set-up so I made my blunder in all of this by going to a local retailer and buying a duplicate of the player. Why it was a mistake was not clear to me until I tried to return the malfunctioning unit to e-tronics. Now, I’m not totally stupid, I checked their return policy inside and out and the only hitch I saw was a part that said “(Due to a change in certain manufacturer policies, Etronics may not be able to accept a return of your item – any item that is not eligible for return is clearly marked as such on our site – please read the terms of each purchase carefully).” I checked all over the info on the player and even went so far as to go through the motions of ordering another to see if it told me it was non-returnable. I did not see such a notice anywhere.
Of course, it was in the small print, deep in the features tab of the product description. I didn’t find this out until I got 3 automated e-mails saying I could not return it quoting the change in policy information each time, even though I asked for clarification and tried to explain my situation, just a canned e-mail each time. I e-mailed because conveniently, e-tronics does not publish their phone number. With some web searches I found it however and called. After explaining my situation and asking for a manager, I got sent to the voice mail of a guy named Karl. I left a detailed message explaining my problem about how it was very hard to know the product was non-returnable, etc, etc. I got a voice mail back with the same canned response. I called back and asked to talk to a manager besides Karl but, of course, got Karl. I gave it a go, realizing I was probably not going to get it returned and tried to appeal for a change in their labeling so others would not make the same mistake I had. Karl would not direct me to anyone that could possible fix it and became rude. I asked to talk to someone above him who may be able to help me more. He said there was no one. I asked to talk to the store owner. He said he was the store owner. He said he would try to get the site changed. I called back the next day hoping to get someone besides Karl (as I did not quite believe he was taking me seriously). I asked the person who answered if I could talk to a manager, anyone but Karl. I asked it in such a way as to question who Karl was and she informed me Karl was a CS rep too. She put me on hold, when she came back it was Karl. I point blank told him I did not want to talk to him because he was a liar, I did not want to deal with someone like that and I was quite sure now that he had no intention of helping fix the website as he had stated. He refuted the lying part, I refreshed his memory about saying he was the owner. He said all CS reps are told to say he is just a CS rep. While this was going on I could hear the CS rep that had answered the phone and gotten Karl, arguing with him and him shushing her. That added to my suspicion. I asked if I could talk to someone about changing the site to be clearer. He said that he could not change it, nor would he for one person. I asked to talk to someone who could. He refused. I asked to talk to another manager. He said there was no one else. At that point I let it go and sent the player off to get fixed to hopefully sell to someone to get some of my money back.

But, because their service department delayed responding to me for over a month it went outside of their 30 day return policy and told me tough luck and to get ahold of the manufacturer. "I ordered a Panasonic RX-D29 CD/MP3 Boombox. I had email confirmation almost immediately after I completed the transaction. I had a question to customer service and it was answered the next day. I received the radio 2 days after order and it was mint condition and nicely packaged for shipment. This is the 2nd item I have purchased from Etronics and have no complaints at all. "I placed an order for two lcd televisions on the 16th of December and was told they were in stock and ready to ship. After 3 days I called to make sure the items were going to make it by Christmas and they had not shipped yet so I canceled the order but Jonathan said that he would ship it 2nd day air so I waited. After two days I called back and still had not shipped. Johnathan said he would ship it next day air not to worry. The next day when I called the rep told me that it would not make it by Christmas because the item had not shipped yet but that I should print out a picture and give to my kids for Christmas!! I cancelled the order after verifying that it had not shipped yet. Two days after Christmas the tvs show up at my house so I refuse delivery because I had already cancelled the order and found the TVS cheaper at COSTCO. The items were still billed to my credit card on the 16th even though they did not ship until the 26th. After a week I called about the charge on my credit card and was told that it would be taken care of. On the 25th of JANUARY the charge was still there and Johnathan the sales rep was saying that DHL never sent them back. I called DHL and got the tracking number where they were delivered back to etronics on the 29 of December and that J Shirley signed for the return. So the whole thing was a scam and I still have not recieved my money they have had my money for a month. When I called back to talk to a supervisor like Reggie Singleton or Leo Landau I was put on hold 3 different times and then disconnected. If you read the reviews of this company that is a common theme with them. They get your money and hold to draw the interest. It is sad that they can stay in business."
"2/7 UPDATE: FINALLY HEARD from Etronics with an excuse of "we didn't know if you wanted refund or exchange" which is a lie. Their RMA #'s are specific to what you want and they gave me an exchange RMA #. Requested a refund 1 WEEK ago and NO CREDIT ON MY CREDIT CARD. STAY CLEAR OF THIS SELLER.
ORIGINAL POST: Received coffee maker which was cracked with plastic pcs falling into machine. Absolutely no damage to box from shipping.took over 1 week to finally get RMA. Sent back on 1/4 & have sent 2 emails for status. No emails - no coffee maker. Had only 1 wk to return AFTER RMA PROVIDED: " We will absolutely refuse any manufacturer's box that has been written on, or has any extra tape on it." TOO MUCH TAPE ? REFUSE SHIPMENT BECAUSE OF IT ??? "Please note: Once we receive the package, you will be e-mailed by the receiving department acknowledging receipt, and letting you know how long it will take to process the exchange. "please allow 5-7 business days for inspection once your package arrives" NEVER HAPPENED. NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AT ALL. Attempting to get refund if I ever hear from them again ! "
"We ordered the Panasonic SD-YD250 Breadmaker on 12-12-06. It was supposed to be shipped within two days. Checked the website daily, and it stated that the package was in packaging stage. Called on 12-18-06, and was told that the package was to be upgraded to 2 day service, and it would be delivered on the 20th. The 20th arrived, and there was no package, so I called. I was lied to by the customer service rep saying that my roommate just called to get information on the item, which he did not. Was told that the package would arrive on the 21st, and it did. The breadmaker was shipped in the original packing box without any other protective material. Opened the box to find that the lid was broken. E-mailed Etronics and didn't receive a response for two days. Called them to get RMA, but was informed that we needed to put the original box in another box for protection. DUH! Why wasn't it shipped to us that way??? We sent the breadmaker back, and it cost $40.00. If I had known it would cost this much money, I would have kept it and tried to find a lid for it. It has been almost 2 weeks, and there hasn't been a credit to our account. I am going to call the credit card company today to dispute. They will get the money back. This is the worst online company that I have ever ordered form, and I do most of my shopping online (we live in a rural area). I would never shop from them again! They are obviously a bunch of crooks!

"After checking Pricescan.com and Pricegrabber.com, I was happy to see that a company I have dealt with before, Etronics, had one of the lowest prices for the camera I wanted. I visited Etronics' web site and was delighted to see that the camera was in stock and "usually ships in 24 hours". Because I had been a satisfied customer in the past, (you can see that their lifetime record here is very good) I didn't bother to check resellerratings.com and went ahead and placed an order on the evening of Tuesday, 1-16-07. Almost immediately, I received a automated "Thank You For Your Order" email. The next morning, I was delighted to see that it had gone to the third step, "Processing", out of five and I received another automated email stating that the order had "passed the authorization and verification process" and had been "released to the shipping department." The final two steps in the process were "Packaging" and "Shipped" and I expected to see that it had cleared both by the time I arrived home from work that evening. However...
That evening, it was still sitting in the "Processing" stage. Not only that, there were 2 messages on my answering machine from "DJ", a salesman at Etronics. One at 5:52 and another at 6:37. All he said was that it was in regard to my order. I figured it was to sell me accessories so I did not call him back. I did, however, email Etronics service dept. because my camera had not been shipped and it had been well over 24 hours.
The following day, I got yet another call from DJ. I let my answering machine pick it up (for evidence, should I need it) and it recorded the same message as before and time stamped it. Ten minutes later, I got an email from DJ. This is what he wrote: "Thank you again for your online order. In order to speed up the process of your order please call to verbally confirm at ***-***-**** extension 211." Speed up??, I wondered, it's already 24 hours BEHIND what you promised on your web site. I wrote him back...
"Why do I have to verbally confirm? I've ordered from you before and have never had to do this nor does any other company I've dealt with require this. If this is to try to sell me accessories or an extended warranty, be advised that I want neither. What's the point of being able to order online if I have to speak with someone on the phone as well? If I have to call you in addition to ordering online, I expect the free tripod and screen protector."
I also got an email from Mark Billings stating that my first email to the service department didn't go through so I wrote him as well explaining what had transpired to that point, including the unending phone calls from their salesman, DJ, and requested that they "just process my order." Also, by this time, someone on one of my photography forums pointed out that Etronics had a HORRIBLE rating on resellerratings.com. I visited this site to read the stories from other poor souls and my heart sank. I went back to the Etronics web site and saw that the camera was now listed as "ships in 1-2 days". I knew I was in deep doo-doo.
I gave them one more day and on the evening of Jan 19th, I checked the Etronics web site and now the camera WASN'T EVEN LISTED! And my order was STILL in the "Processing" stage! So I hit the "cancel this order" link. Almost immediately, I got an automated email stating that they were "Unable to cancel my order". I was LIVID!
I then sent this email to their service address, to Mark Billings, and to the salesman, DJ:
"This item has NOT shipped... it still is in "Processing" stage. I attempted to cancel the order tonight and have received an email stating that the order was not voided. There is NO reason this order should not be able to be canceled. I have contacted my credit card company to inform them of what you are doing. I will not accept the package if you ship it and I will have my credit card company deal with you as I will DISPUTE any charge you make to my card.
Your service has deteriorated to an unbelievable low since I ordered from you last. Had I had the sense to check out resellerratings.com, I would have seen and read all about the deceitful practices you now stoop to in order to make a profit. See for yourself... (insert resellerratings web site address) how can you people sleep at night?
I will be contacting the New York Better Business Bureau to complain about this matter as well."
All weekend, the Etronics web site listed my order as "This order is in the process of being cancelled". DJ had the gall to call me yet again on Sunday, the 21st. Again, I let my answering machine record the message. Finally, today, the order is listed as cancelled. I better not EVER hear from them again. PLEASE save yourself the headache and DO NOT ORDER FROM ETRONICS no matter how good their prices seem to be. Don't put yourself through what I and so many others have been through. It is a horrible experience and could cost you a lot of money. This company, and others like it, are despicable. "
"This used to be a good company. I'm a previous customer from a year or so ago. This time, however, they treated me exactly like every other NY scam photo shop. Made me call in to "verify" my order. Then they gave me the high pressure accessory sales treatment. They ignored it when I told them I didn't need or want any of this stuff, they just kept on going. Eventually I hung up after being put on hold the third time so my rep, "DJ", could go find more stuff to try to sell me.

"Despite having several good past purchases with etronics, it was with great trepidation I placed this order after reading about the downward spiral of poor experiences due to misleading stock levels, poor customer service, and refund problems. To reiterate another reviewer, if your item is actually in stock you will likely have a great buying experience. If you there is any kind of problem requiring further contact you might have a problem. Luckily that was not the case here. The Panasonic audio receiver arrived within 48 hrs (neighboring state) from the time I placed the order well packed, new and in perfect condition. Their delivered price was 10% better than anything else I could find, order status correct throughout and shipped in one day. The process was efficient and glitch free. I couldn't be happier. "
"Etronics lists no phone number so returns are only approved by email - but they don't respond to emails. Even if they did, to qualify for return items have to be in "Brand New and unused condition" - so don't think you can test an item to see if it works! And even if you somehow get an RMA number and haven't opened the package they'll charge a 15% restocking fee. No matter how good the price, you're better of taking your business elsewhere!"
