" First let me start by saying I read alot of these reviews and others on different sites. I came to a conclusion about most of them. Most peoples complaints was that the item turned out to be Out-of-Stock. I emailed Etronics and made sure they had item available. They sent me back a confirmation (very speedy i might add) and said they have them in stock. I also called the following day to double check the accuracy (1-***-***-****). They again told me the item was in stock. On 4/20 I made my purchase and the process went quite smoothly. I was immediately sent a confirmation email with details on my purchase. I waited till next day (on 4/21) and checked teh status of my order online. It had beeen shipped and a tracking number was provided. I also got my tracking info sent via email. The order arrived 4-27-04. Not bad considering i had to wait through weekend. I checked box and item they both are in excellent condition. I have yet to try the product beings its a subwwofer but if i have any problems you can bet i will post a follow up.
I also ordered 3 pyramid 100amp circuit breakers. This tim emy credit card process was taking a long time. I emailed and found out item was out of stock. I went to website and cancelled order, because i needed these asap. No big deal though. I received a confirmation email within the hour stating my order was cancelled.
Now i have worked in a warehouse before and know the up's and down's of warehouse inverntory. So really wasnt a big deal if item wasnt in stock (yes, even though it said it was) its just not a huge deal. Cancellation was a snap.
So i would definelty reccomend this company. Best prices, Fast shipping, and speedy response from etronics customer service.

"I ordered 3 items that were not listed as out of stock on their website. Emailing them is useless, you get an automated response that has no relevance to your original question. One of the 3 items is now listed as unavailable and they haven't shipped the other 2. My order last summer from Etronics took weeks to get my merchandise.
On the plus side they have nice people on the phone who do try to help and it's surely not their fault, but sometimes you just don't like having your money taken from your account while you lurch on waiting for over a week for anything to ship.
UPDATE: 3/29/04... today I receive my package! But wait, it's 1 of the 3 items I ordered. It's the $14 dollar tripod... Not the $500 dollar digital camera or $200+ memory I also ordered on 3/17/04! NEITHER of which were designated on the website as "out of stock". I received an email explaining how the items were unexpectantly out of stock! Just like other people here have complained about. Nice of them to let me know this TWELVE days later!
I'm going to call tomorrow and get the remainder of my order canceled ASAP! After a 3rd run with Etronics I've finally learned my lesson and am angry at myself for it taking this long.
I will post an update if they try to hang me out to dry when I call tomorrow to confirm my cancellation request.

Final Update 4/7/04: Well they refunded my money after canceling my order. Although I'm unhappy about the whole thing, I don't think they are crooks. I do think they either do a poor job keeping their website updated with correct information, or they are indeed misleading folks with false stock info to beat other online retailers to the punch.
Either way, can't shop from someone you can't trust. Wanted a gift, all of which were "in stock"... 12 days later, not even shipped. Luck to all who buy from them. I'm done."
"I bought from this company because my friend told me they were good, and I never checked reselleratings first.
Sadly, they have a low score as of right now (5.7) but I have to say that my purchase with this company was satisfactory. The only complaint I had was that they didn't tell you the shipping cost until almost putting in your credit card number, and shipping took a 8 days from purchase.
Their selection of products was great, and prices were outstanding, website is designed great, and I got 2 e-mails describing order conformation and one telling me the order has been shipped WITH a tracking number.
I ordered two times. The second time had a slight problem.
They have a faulty "In Stock" system. Two items that I ordered were apparently "Temporarily Out of Stock at time of Purchase" although the website had said, and continued to say, the items were in stock. I canceled those items and received the others in a standard shipping length.
Will buy again. In fact I'm going to buy a subwoofer for my car from them in a week.

"Two separate occasions I have CALLED Etronics prior to ordering to VERIFY they had an item in stock. BOTH times I was told that they had the items and would be able to ship out the next day. LIES! The following days I would get an email (again both times): "We apologize for the inconvenience, but we have unexpectedly and temporarily run out of the item that you ordered. However, it is expected to be back in stock in the next 3-5 business days, and will be shipped to you as soon as it arrives."

"Ordered an Alpine CDA-9815 on a Saturday and before I did this, I emailed them if they had it in stock and sure enough they did. By Monday, the order status was already close to the shipping portion. Got it the following Monday because I used UPS Ground and it takes the full 5 days from New York to California. All in all a very satisfying experience. Emails were answered promptly and the package arrived in great condition; the product was DEFINITELY new. "
"On January 6th (a Tuesday) I placed an order for a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver and a pair of Infinity Alpha 40 floor standing speakers. The total was $1306.68 and the web site listed both items as in stock. On day 6 (Monday) the order hadn't yet shipped so I called to ask why. They told me the order would ship "today or tomorrow." On day 8 (Wednesday) I called again and they promised me that the order would ship "by the end of the day." On day 9 (Thursday) I called again and they promised that the order would ship on "Monday or Tuesday." On day 14 (Tuesday) I called again and they said it would ship "within the next 5 business days." On day 16 (Thursday) I called one last time. After waiting 45 minutes to speak to someone I was told that "The Yamaha receiver is no longer available. Would you like to substitute something else?" At this point I had enough and I cancelled the order. I don't think I will be shopping at Etronics again."
"Purchased a Pioneer LD/DVD player on December 21st. and had it shipped 2nd. day air so it would be here for Christmas. Received it Christmas eve day as scheduled. Opened it Christmas eve and to our amazement they had placed the Pioneer box inside another box because the Pioneer box had been dammaged and the unit had been crushed. I couldn't have done this much dammage if I had jumped up and down on it, it was obviously dammaged by heavy equipment. Upon calling etronics they said it was UPS fault, we stated the outer box was not dammaged and we would inform UPS that it would be a fraudulent claim by etronics. After many phone calls and much runaround for almost a month we finally left the hassle up to our credit card company - for sure we didn't want another unit from these dishonest folks. The credit card company credited our account and we assume they have settled with these people.
etronics is dishonest and they ship fraudulently. They knew the unit was dammaged otherwise it would not have been placed in another box, they just wanted to rip off UPS and us. They also did a great job of screwing up Christmas for us.
Don't deal with these people - you'll be sorry."
