"I placed an order for "Adventures of Indiana Jones: The Complete DVD Movie Collection" on 12/12/2006 in their deal of the day. After two days I received a mail mentioning that the product is no longer available.
This is all fraud, as the item is still available at a much heigher price. This company is just faking the sales. And heard that they have even more problems with their rebates. Buyers please be aware of this companies fradulent behaviour."
"On 12/07/06 I ordered an "Ultimate Oliver Stone Collection" DVD set at an incredible price after rebate. I received an order acknowledgment, with all sorts of nice words including "We pride ourselves on delivering the best possible shopping experience to you and all of our customers. That means that from the moment you enter FYE to the moment your order is delivered to your door we are dedicated to your satisfaction." They assured me that they would not charge my credit card.
Today I received another email from them with subject of "Product No Longer Available." They thanked me or shopping with them, stating that "we strive to provide the widest assortment of high-quality products at the lowest prices on earth. However, sometimes circumstances beyond our control affect our selection." They continue "Our supplier recently informed us that the item is no longer available." No mention of anything to make up for their failure to deliver. I burned them with a return email, telling them exactly what I thought of them and pointing out the reasons why I thought their 0.24 resellerratings.com score was overly generous.
I won't be doing business with them in the future."
"fye.com is the worst company i have ever dealt with. pre-ordered a dvd set (with rebate) and it ended up being shipped to another address. since i never received the dvd set, i couldn't redeem the rebate. numerous e-mails and phone calls (after I managed to FIND the customer service number!!) yielded no results. it was not the address mix-up that irritated me, but rather their incredibly poor handling of the situation.
i ended up calling my credit card and settling the issue through them - but I will never purchase from them again and will encourage others to do the same."
"On 5/28/2006 I placed an order for Ultralast ULA100AAAB Alkaline Battery Bulk Pack. It has now been 2 Months since I placed that order and the Order Status still shows "Sent to Warehouse". Apparently the product is In Stock but they still haven't shipped my order so I am canceling. I have been in an FYE store which is fine as far as business goes but please don't ignore the reviews here like I did and order from FYE.com."
"So for my birthday, I received two gift cards to FYE simultaneously from two friends. I had never really thought about the store in general, because I never went there. There were so many wonderful Mom n' Pop stores to get great music at (Sally's Place in Westport. GO THERE if you ever want to buy music and are in the Westport, CT area!)
Anyway, so I went online and bought my CDs there, knowing that FYE would accept my gift cards online. I bought an Anthony Braxton release and many John Zorn albums that I missed out on. When I received my packages finally, after about a week and a half of waiting (they sent them out priority mail, though ), I noticed only three CDs were in the package. I got an email the next hour or so saying that some of the CDs couldn't be shipped because they weren't in stock. However, all of the CDs I ordered were SAID TO BE IN STOCK by the website, and when I checked back to those individual CD's pages after receiving this email, the CDs were STILL "In Stock".
So I consulted with the email tech support for many weeks, after sending in multiple order cancelation requests and attempts at changing the order. The emails were not helpful, and took many days to arrive to me. I think they are all processed by a computer, with simply a randomized name placed at the bottom as the "signature".
I then searched for a phone number on the website to call customer service on my own.
THERE IS NO DAMNED PHONE NUMBER LISTED ON THE WEBSITE!!!!
So I searched viciously through google to find a phone number. I found this customer service number for "TransWorld Entertainment" which other people supposedly have tried. Yes, after agrivatingly navigating through this phone number's terribly unorganized touch-tone menu, I found "FYE Customer Service".
But oh, what a surprise:
"We are unable to take your call right now. Your call is very important to us. Please leave a message or try your call again later."
The first time I heard this message, I just disregarded it and decided to try again the next day.
The same message. So I left a calm message explaining my situation and asked if I could get a phone call ASAP to remedy the situation.
No response.
I tried then eleven consecutive days and left more and more messages. I never could get through to these a-holes.
There is used up money on my gift cards that should not be used up, and I charged additional cash to my credit card. I want to make sure my gift cards' money is used for something I actually receive from FYE, and, since I never want to order from them again, I want to make sure that I never get sent the additional CDs I ordered and thus have my card charged unwillingly.
I have not since received confirmation or any agknowledgement of my cancelation request, and this is now around the ninth or tenth week.
NEVER BUY FROM FYE OR ITS AFFILIATES! THEY ARE SCAMMERS! I put close to $100 (including the gift card purchases) into CDs from this company, and they have given me the single worst shopping experience ever. And that's hard to accomplish, especially since it appears that ZERO HUMAN BEINGS CONTROL THE WEBSITE!"
"The worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. They never provided the form to claim a $15 rebate. After eleven e-mails and an unreturned call to customer service I contacted my credit card company. I got a $15 from the credit card company. Stay away from these people."
"I purchased the Die Hard Ultimate Collection for $30.68 (with tax and shipping), then sent in the $20 rebate. It was at first rejected but a quick call to the rebate processing center validated the rebate and I received it within 2 weeks. $10.68 for 1 great + 2 decent classic action films. Cannot complain!"
"In the 12 years I have been doing business online and ordering items from online, this is the worst site I have ever dealt with. 3 times now I have ordered something and this is now the third time I dont think I will get the item. How at this point 7 days after I ordered it dont I know whether I will be getting it? It’s a great question.
I got a gift card from my Aunt for $30. I did not want to buy any cd's or dvd's from the site as I can get them cheaper from elsewhere, and I do not game. So I decided I would buy an XM satellite radio. I decided to go for the Delphi Roady. The site said it was in stock. The shipping was free. The order went in, and I started looking for the UPS truck. A week later no delivery, so I decided to check the status on my account page. "Sent to Warehouse" was the status. Well that’s great, but what the hell is the warehouse doing about it? So I emailed them. I eventually got an email days later stating that the item was out of stock and could not be delivered, the order would be cancelled. This was almost 20 days after originally ordering. So I thought ok, I will order something else, another XM radio maybe. Going back to the site I expected to see a little "Out of stock" flag over the Roady, or maybe not see it on the XM page at all. Nope, still there, still stating "in stock" Still the same listing completely, and what’s worse is it is listed in the "best sellers" section of the XM merchandise page. So I wrote them and said, if it’s out of stock, why isn’t there any warning to this? Why was I not notified when I placed the order that I would be waiting or otherwise. I got another email back telling me I could reorder the item. Reorder the item? Are you sure? Won’t I go through this all over again?
Oh Yes, yes I did, the exact same thing happened. This time after only 3 days I wrote and said.. here we go again, its sitting in "Sent to Warehouse" Status and the same thing was happening. About a week after that, I got the cancellation email. This time (I would be walking away at this point if it weren't for the gift card.) I decided to buy something else. I decided to get the Roady Home kit and I would buy the Roady at a store and use it in my truck and my house. This was on May 16th. Its now May 23rd, guess what the current order status is?
"Sent to Warehouse"
The communications seem very cookie cutter, there is very little human response. For the life of me I cant find a number to call. I have no idea how a website can have service like this in 2006 and not be going under.
Do yourself a favor and don’t expect much from your purchase from www.fye.com."
"Ordered two DVDs in Feb 16. Website posts ship date of Feb 20 via USPS. Did not receive the package after one month. Email customer support to get a replacement. They said it would take one month to process the replacement order. It is now April and I still haven't received my order yet! Terrible service..."
"Be extremely cautious of this retailer. The lousiest of the available line of merchants. Like others, I had purchasd the Die Hard collection which did arrive with a differnet date. The fine print on the rebate form prompted me to cancell the order and return the product. It has been two months since i cancelled my order and i still have not got my money back.

"This retailer is terrible. Large rebate on purchased item was denied. Heard from many buyers that their rebates were also denied. Suspect sytematic fraud, but difficult to prove - their defense is that they make lots of "mistakes". Either way, steer clear of these jokers."
"Never received a rebate for this order.
They claim UPC was not submitted (original rebate form required packing slip, not UPC) and the date of purchase is invalid. There is a correct purchase date on order confirmation, but shipping date on a packing slip.
Considering how many people have exactly the same problem with FYE.com, it looks like a well-crafted scam and hopefully will result in a class action suit. "
"Two rebates in a row auto-rejected by FYE.com. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They auto-reject rebates in hopes you'll never call in to get it fixed - and spend 30 minutes of your life with some guy in India.
First rebate was rejected for "UPC required", yet it does not state as required on the rebate form:

Second rebate was rejected for "Invalid Purchase Date" (it was purchased on 12/13, as stated on invoice and email they sent to me):

"Purchased 12/8/2005. It never came. I had to hassle the outsourced foreign customer service for days complaining for a REFUND, but they insisted on sending me the Family Guy Volume 2 DVD again. I didn't want it because I know I wouldn't be able to make the post marked rebate date in time. They in fact did send it to me, I have received it today, 1/10/2006, and that's 2 days later than the last day of the rebate (1/8/2006). Now I had to complain again to them about honoring the rebate because it's their fault, yet another hard to understand customer service rep... and they forwarded my case to the corporate office. I am awaiting word from the corp. office and hope they will accept my rebate still... I'LL NEVER BUY FROM FYE AGAIN... ONLINE OR IN-STORE."
"An altered cut & paste of my order appears at the bottom of this note. I received my complete order this week. However, I am extremely angry with F.Y.E. As you can see, I was supposed to be charged a total $7.74 for the amount of my order NOT covered by gift cards I received for Christmas from my father-in-law. Today I see a charge of $32.74 has been charged to my credit card on 1/3/2006 by "WWW.FYE.COM NY"!!!! F.Y.E failed to apply one of the gift cards I clearly entered on my order.
Thanks to the other reviewers here, I was able to find the toll free number for customer service, but the person who took my call admitted I had reached a customer service group in New Delhi, India. After he evaluated my problem, he said one of my gift certificates was never applied to my order and that he would have to forward the problem to "corporate headquarters" to be remedied! I would recommend against anyone attempting to conduct business with this merchant. Use Amazon. F.Y.E. deserves to go out of business. I advised my naive customer service rep in New Delhi to find another job before F.Y.E. goes under. I will make sure my father-in-law hears about this debacle so I never have to endure such hell again.
