"Order placed on 1/4/07, got the order confirmation instantly, received another email on 01/21/07 saying they were still researching my order, got the third email on 01/24/07 saying my order had been cancelled due to a price mistake of my order. During the 3 weeks wait, I emailed them 8 times, none got responded. There is no phone number listed on their website to call. The funny thing is they offered 10% off coupon as an apology of the price error, but the coupon expired next day upon received. FYE sure thinks their 10% off coupon is a miracle to me and I gotta use it in 24 hours. Get outta here. If it takes 3 weeks for them to figure out a price mistake for my order, it would take 30 years for me to re-think if I shall shop with them again. Now FYE becomes BYE to me."

"I placed an order online on Jan 3. After 2 weeks, I decided to check on the status by emailing customer service & was told that the item was out of stock & that it will be shipped as soon as it came back in stock. When I pointed out that the item was in stock on their website, I was told that the issue has been escalated. A few days later, I get an email saying that the order has been cancelled due to a pricing error! What horrible customer service! First they tell me that the item is not in stock, when it is; then they cancel the order after 20 days. I will never shop again at this store."

"See below for the majority of the details regarding the LotR fiasco.

It would be okay if they cancelled all of the orders, but very many received their orders for the same price, while I did not.

I would suggest steering clear of this store, they have very bad customer support.

"This company is horrible. I placed an order for a DVD set which was on sale for $14 on January 3, 2007. I received a confirmation e-mail immediately. Then there was absolutely no word from them until January 21, 2007 when they e-mailed me to say they were still looking for the product. This was quite interesting, since the product was now listed as in stock for the price of $50. People who ordered it for the new price of $50 received it promptly. Then the real kicker. I received an e-mail today that they were canceling my order since it was a "price mistake" and they would not honor it.

What a load of boloney! Are they saying it took them over 2 weeks to realize that they made a price mistake? I think not. Instead, I think they decided that they'd rather not sell it for the lower price since other people were willing to pay full price for it. As a result, they lost a customer permanently.

If they had e-mailed me immediately after I had placed the order and stated that it was a price mistake, I would have accepted that and moved on. Instead, they dragged it on for several weeks, and then decided to make the excuse that it was a price mistake. The second e-mail stating that they were looking for the product to fulfill the order should never have been sent if they knew it was a price mistake to start with.

This was my first order from FYE and my last. Never again.

Walmart had this same DVD set for $17.99 with no funny business. I should have known better and avoided FYE and ordered it from Walmart.

Buyer beware. If the price seems too good at FYE, they think so too and you'll never receive it. Don't waste your time with them.

"Like most of the LOTR trilogy seekers I believe this place is a fraud. I can't believe I didn't check here first. Should've stuck with Amazon and spent a few extra dollars. I've contacted them 3 times now and all I get are auto-responders. If I don't hear from them by Monday evening the BBB is getting a call. (Here is the "Whois" link http://www.whois.net/whois_new.cgi?d=fye&tld=com)I've never had the lack of service this place is giving. Unless they fix this and make me a very happy person I will never shop here again."

"It has been 12 days since I placed an order for an item that still shows in stock on the fye.com website. They insist it is not in stock and cannot ship my order at this time. I informed them by sending them a copy of their own web page listing the item in stock and have yet to receive an answer. I still have not received my item and to coincide with previous comments it does not surprise me since the item I am purchasing has since tripled in price. Sounds like a company that really baits you in with a price but never delivers. From the approximately 15 emails I have sent I have received 3 responses thus far."

"I ordered the Oliver Stone Collection that was $34.99 - 20.00 rebate. They promptly canceled the order saying they had been informed that it was not available from their supplier. Within days of the cancellation, it was available at full price. They practice bait and switch. My latest order was also cancelled for the same reason."

"This company is a total FRAUD. I sent in 3 separate rebates in separate envelopes, all filled out perfectly with all the information and receipts included, and they claim they never received any of them. This company doesn't even include a customer service number on their website because they don't want to receive millions of phone calls from irate customers.

However, I did get their phone number by contacting a local Wherehouse Music store (which FYE owns) as well as another phone number off my credit card statement. The phone numbers are ***-***-**** and ***-***-****. You can call either of these corporate phone numbers, but all you will get is a voicemail-hell system that just ends up finally saying something like "your call is important to us but we cannot acccept it right now" or something to that effect - and then it hangs up on you. Wow!

The rebate phone number is ***-***-**** and there are actually people that pick that one up (usually after a 30-minute hold), but those people just tell you they have no record of your rebates and that you need to keep resending them in (to never be received again).

I will never again do business with this fraudulent operation and I urge EVERYONE to avoid FYE, Wherehouse, Suncoast, Coconuts, and whatever other chains operate under the "Transworld Corp." banner.

"Looked like a fantastic deal, especially combined with coupons, so I placed an order. Got an email 2 days later saying item was out of stock. Wrote them back to tell them their web site showed it was still in stock. they wrote back and said it takes 24 hours to update stock status. By then it was 4-5 days later, and their web site had shown it to be in stock the whole time -- although the price more than doubled right after I bought it. I wrote back asking them to reinstate my order at my price if it was again in stock, since the web page had shown it to be so for days. Meanwhile a poster at fatwallet.com posted they bought it the day AFTER me (and the day before my order was cancelled) & their order was filled. FYE never responded to my last email, I've waited over a week.

Attention FYE: an order is a sales contract that should be fulfilled if you can. If it was a price mistake & you don't intend to fulfill it, then TELL the truth and admit it, don't LIE and say you are cancelling it because it's out of stock, while you keep selling it to other people.

"I had the same issue with my Indiana Jones copy. I purchased it at 7:30 am est, which seems to be a reasonable enough time in the morning to have the item in stock. After all, the website said it was there.

Two days later, I also received the same email saying my order was cancelled because the item was no longer in stock from the supplier. I sent customer service an email saying to please send me the movie when their supplier gets it in or send me the fullscreen edition. Alas, they said my order was cancelled and would not send me anything.

Interestingly, the Oliver Stone collection was "back in stock". Did they offer the deal again to people who previously tried to buy it--of course not.

I will never shop with this company again, nomatter what deals they try to throw my way.
