"I sent a parcel to an ebay buyer and when he received the delivery in which the content was NOT what I had packed though the postage label was correct. It looked like my parcel had been opened and the content swapped with something else. The buyer sent me photos. I used Packlink and chose Hermes as the delivery courier. Ultimately its Hermes that carried out the delivery service. They definitely have a problem with a small minority of their drivers who are plainly thieves. There's a couple of Facebook pages on them worth joining if you have also been a victim."

"Absolutely terrible delivery company, every time something is delivered by them the packaging is either destroyed or open an contents are broken too, also there time scale on delivery is bullsh1t, say they have attempted delivery when they haven't an just leave parcels at a collection centre without telling you where they are, an some parcels just end up at Birmingham auction house without even been tried to if been delivered. "A driver arrived and said my parcel was large and he would post his smaller parcels and return, he asked me to leave the parcel on the doorstep. Leaving me a receipt! went out and he never returned, the parcel was left on the doorstep and wet from the rain! But my hermes are claiming it is on the way to the depot! He never returned and I have had to rebook my parcel! Awful service! I want a refund or some money returned as I am an ebay seller and this late shipping will effect my rating! "

I sent a parcel to someone who brought an item from me on eBay. I will start by describing the item so you have an idea of the package and how it had been sent .....The package contained two round cast iron plates, these weighed a total of 10kg, wrapped both weights in cardboard (didn't have a box so used scraps of cardboard to wrap around the weights to give a form of cushioning), these were then put into a thick refuse black sack it wasn't opened, it was doubled up as thick plastic, this was the taped together endless times with parcel tape possibly using half a roll of tape in the process- you couldn't see any of the black bag because we used so much tape, this was very secure therefore the tape would have had to have been cut to open the package.
Any way few day later the receiver get the parcel it had been opened, you can clearly see the cut marks on the package and the tape has clear slices through it. i contact hermes. no answer, keeps getting cut off or 'sorry call can't be taken' (i get this there is a global pandemic at the moment)- however customer service calls can still be taken whilst people are working from home, and many other company have managed to do this pretty well.... I have to log the problem with the automated robot thing online tells me i will hear in a 24 hours from a customer service advisor (this is the 30th July) Two days later i have heard nothing- I log again with the robot thing (1st August) i then get an email to say complete the form let us know what happened....i do this complete it all. I hear nothing after this i email 11 days later asking for this to be looked into again i hear nothing. then today i receive an email- sorry your claim won't be processed you can not get compensation for your items as it was not packaged correctly.
Fair enough if it was thrown in a bag and taped little bit but the package was tight and needed to be cut to be opened, which has clearly happened as from the pictures the receiver had sent, I don't care for the postage cost i wanted the item i had set and which was was lost to be sent to the receiver, its not like the delivery driver wouldn't have seen a 5kg cast iron weight sitting in the boot of his car/van if it had accidentally ripped and 'fell out'....if it could have fallen out at the sorting depot someone would have seen it- its a cast iron weight not a cuddly toy or something small that you wouldn't notice. I therefore believe Hermes has STOLEN the item I had sent out, they are saying they won't issue me a refund. They obviously think a cast iron weigh turns invisible once out of the packaging as they've not even acknowledged it as being lost or stolen?...i wonder where the item is?
I believe this company are money grabbers and will take advantage of anyone who tries to make a claim against them. The package was not only damaged but an item from the package was lost or stolen, yet they are dismissing the lost/stolen claim part and refusing to issue a refund. I have shown them proof of purchase, proof of damage to the parcel and the cut marks to the parcel.
The customer service is a complete shambles, you can't get hold of anyone to actually have a conversation and you have to wait for replies on emails.
In my opinion this company is awful and should be avoided, please do yourself a favour, save time, and money and use a different delivery service."

"Avoid - Having to go to the small claims court to get my money back for a lost parcel.
Paid for full insurance and for a signature required on delivery. I did not put any information for the parcel to be left in a safe place.
Plus if you pay the extra for the signature required, as to hermes terms the parcel can not be left in a safe place.
Was contacted by the receiver of the parcel, saying they had been notified by hermes that the parcel had been delivered and left in the safe place. neither me, the receiver or even hermes knows where the safe place is. (Yep its been stolen by hermes).
Issue is that hermes require a form to be completed, and you have to put in where the safe place was.
Trying to deal with hermes is beyond a joke. Many attempts to deal with them asking do i leave the park regarding the safe place out.
8 different hermes staff, have not answered a single question and keep stating i have to complete the form. But i can't.

"If I could I would give 0 rating. I've been waiting for my parcel for nearly 40 days and yesterday, after soo many times calling emailing pressuring the lazy non trustworthy CSTeam, they declared my parcel has been lost, what I call Stolen!!!.
I was desperately waiting for the moment to open my parcel that contains lots of gifts from my family and friends for my newborn baby as well my personal clothes and home decos that I purchased during my stay in Germany. I'm very heartbroken and disappointed that hermes could not promise what it says and failed to deliver a single parcel although it received many calls and emails from my family in Germany and from us here in the UK. I still can't believe that I lost all those valuable memories I collected in Germany. It did upset me very much that I could not enjoy my days and weeks all this time. The value the parcel contained was clearly above 500 euros now we are fighting to get the compensation where hermes is still giving us hard times to get it. It is like they are punishing us to choose hermes. It is clearly the last time that we go for hermes as we had some similar experiences in the past with them. I I am now very certain that we will do our future businesses with DPD, as we never had a single issue with them. This is truly heartbreaking to me when I think that I lost all clothes of my baby and mine that I got and purchased.
I still check my Barcode 0618388278906280 if by any chance there's an update. Every single time I get hope but I lost it all as we were told yesterday after soo many calls and emails that the parcel has been lost. HERMES is definitely the worst company for me for having this terrible experience and reading bad reviews from other people.
Now let's hope that we can get our compensation which will never hit the actual value of my parcel."
