When sending back shoes that don't fit, you have to call and you have to pay for shipping. Maybe that's reasonable except their competition doesn't do that. Go to Zappos, they know how to do it."

"I ordered a very hard to find pair of Steve Madden Soccet sneakers from OnlineShoes.com. At the time, I could only find my size/style available at two web sites (apparently, the particular style I wanted has been in very high demand.) Both offered the same price, but OnlineShoes.com offered free shipping, so I chose to buy from them.
After a day and a half, I received an order update from customer service, stating (quoted directly) "We have attempted to order this item from the manufacturer and they have informed us that it is currently on backorder with no scheduled availability date." Problem is, the site gave no indication of lack of availablity. I questioned them in email about posting accurate availability info on the site, but the site continues to show all sizes in stock and available to order. The "helpful" information they've provided me has consisted of offering an explanation of what a backorder is along with repeated suggestions for other shoes I should buy from them... yet they continue to offer an item they do not have, and cannot provide, for sale in all sizes on their site.
Of course, by the time I was notified that OnelineShoes.com didn't actually have the shoes in stock that they sold me (and could not backorder,) the other site was sold out--so now I can't get the shoes anywhere, and I fear they may have been discontinued.
Don't waste your time with OnlineShoes.com."

After two weeks of hearing NOTHING, I wrote to ask what the holdup was. They finally replied, saying my order would not be available for another MONTH.
I turns out, the shoe I wanted had been out of stock for some time, but it took an angry e-mail for them to tell me. This is in violation of their customer policy quoted above.
I cancelled my order, let them know of my displeasure...and recieved a rather sarcastic e-mail back referring to me (Male, first name Jon) as Ms. Repp.

I received an order confirmation email immediately, and a shipping notification from UPS a few days later. Three business days later my boots arrived, well within the time extimated fro the low priced (about $6) ground shipping option that I had chosen.
