I made the poor assumption that because the price of the item I wanted was such a great deal, that I must be dealing with some giant online drop shipping warehouse computer system type company.
I WAS SOOOO WRONG!
From the very first conversation with Michelle, who answered the phone right away without me having to go through 9000 auto menus, I felt so confident that I was dealing with a very human company.
She was friendly, inviting, communicative, listened to my inquiries and responded timely to every question, whether on the phone or via email. I, literally, want to hire this woman to work with ME and show my co-workers and company what Customer Service looks like!

"It was that time again. I needed a new Mac. But this time, I decided I wanted to buy a brand new computer and not have to deal with the hassle of being out of warranty. So, naturally, when I discovered PowerMax had cheaper prices on top of not charging tax, I thought I had found heaven. I purchased a new Mac Mini and also was given a whole bunch of other free goodies such as a flash drive and Leopard T-Shirt. What makes this site stand out is how "Human" it is for all aspects of the site. Soon after paying for my order, Heidi Wheeler confirmed that a 'Human had touched my order' and that everything was alright. I replied thankfully and got a friendly response or two, followed by a human shipping confirmation mere hours after I payed for my order. "I've purchased new and pre-owned computers from PowerMax for over 14 years (about 9 or 10 of them to date) and have been consistently satisfied with their service. What's really terrific is that I can trade in my older computers and get a very decent price to put towards my new computers. Prior to working with PowerMax, getting rid of my old computers was a pain, and mostly wasted money as they were either given away or trashed. My service reps over the years have been very helpful and courteous. My most recent rep, Michelle has been helping me for at least 5 or 6 years, and has never failed to come up with a solution. "My experience started back in December when I was trying to order a video card that isn't made anymore for an 8 yr old Mac. It was on backorder for a while and in February this year my Mac died. I called Heidi at Powermax and she helped me find something to hold me over, letting me know that we could exchange it for full purchase price (toward store credit) for a new one. So I did. My new Mac arrived when it was supposed to and did the job. Within a month I was able to upgrade and did so. I got a new iMac at a great price. Not only am I absolutely tickled with the performance of my new computer, but the service at Powermax has been exceptional.
Heidi always let me know status and what was happening with my order(s), and was very helpful in answering questions. When I got an RMA number to return the first Mac, it was within an hour. These folks go above and beyond what most companies will do, and they do it with grace and kindness. I wish all companies ran this way - would make life much more pleasant. I would recommend them highly for any purchase."
" This is my third computer from Power Max. The Sales Staff has excellent product knowledge and can quickly answer questions and correct any wrong assumptions on the part of the customer.
It only took two contacts with Joe Inman to determine the best model for my needs while providing assistance that allowed me to finalize the sale with very little effort on my part.
This company deserves a medal for computer expertise and customer service.
After overnight delivery, I had to put the setup on hold and eventually completed the installation June 24. This new iMac is a terrific machine and its' operation is flawless.

"i ordered a dvd burner with a software package. my order arrived promptly, so points for that, but when it did arrive, it was missing the software part of the order (a huge reason why i purchased from them). when i called to ask about receiving that part, they said that it was a "typo" in the product description, and that i would not be receiving the rest of the order. the rep was courteous enough, and apologized for the error, but offered me nothing but the ability to return the hardware for a full refund. when i asked if they could give me a replacement for the missing item, or cut me a deal for a similar product, they refused. very disappointing. if a customer bounces a check, the customer pays penalties to the company and their own bank. when powermax makes a mistake, they put the customer through the trouble of mopping it up for them, with no compensation. that's bad business, and they've lost a customer.

that's quite a "typo," an entire word that indicates an entirely different product. and funny how not one other distributor that got their description from the manufacturer included this "typo" in their product description. whether intentional or not, i was deceived into a sale. "
"I spent a couple of weeks doing my online homework before finally approaching PowerMax -- noted for their personalized customer service -- for help getting the latest version of MacSpeech Dictate. Not an easy task given that MacSpeech doesn't indicate the version anywhere on the packaging. Heidi Wheeler cheerfully and competently went to work with the help of the purchasing manager and found a distributor most likely to have a recent release. Now after a flurry of emails and a couple of phone calls it's been shipped to me straight from the distributor, at the lowest price I could find anywhere.
