"In the age of Internet shopping, it is not usual to see a site that has actual human beings who are not afraid to reach out to the customers. The first time I placed my order, I am frankly not expecting a whole lot (just another online shop), and I was a little confused to receive an email in addition to the auto-generated one, from Heidi Weeler, thanking me for placing the order, and informed me on the estimated time it will take to process my order. I didn't think much of it, figuring that was probably also auto-generated by a computer, and they just put a human name on it to make it look like it's written by a human.
After I received my products, I realized it's not something I wanted. From my experience with other online shops, I probably won't get my money back that easily unless there's something broken, a reason like "I don't like how it feels" probably won't fly. I hit reply on the email from Heidi, expecting to just get a "sorry sucker, you should have read the terms and conditions" email days later. To my huge surprise, I got an email in under 8 minutes from Heidi, she's not only opened up an RMA process for me, but also made recommendations on some of the alternative products that may fit my needs. Now THAT's customer service!
It is just so rare nowadays to find a shop (online or in real life) to actually have people who care about the customers, and actually stay on top of things. When I phoned PowerMax, they immediately put me in touch with Heidi, and she was very on top of what we've been discussing over email, and got me what I needed in less than two minutes.
Although PowerMax may not always have the lowest prices on the Internet, but this is certainly the first stop for me when I am doing my online shopping.

"I placed an order with this retailer and totally forgot to put in my credit card info. They notified me immediately of my omission. When I called them, they were very helpful and courteous. I gave them my credit card information and they informed me they would process my order promptly. They were not kidding. I did not call them back until almost 7:00PM. My order was still shipped that day. Not that shipping information was given to UPS. The package was in the hands of UPS within 2 hours of my phone call. Excellent Service. I will definitely shop there again!!!"

Thanks to their selection of preowned Apple computers I now have an Apple iBook that has the features I want at a price I can afford. Service was fast. I had a UPS tracking number and a link that made checking on shipping status one click away. When I recieved my package, I emailed a confirmation and a quick thank you. "This store has an excellent reputation for good service.
I found that PowerMax is really fraud-prevention oriented. Each time I thought my order was ready for shipment (after a phone call with Heidi Wheeler and after an email exchange with the Verificator system) I got no status update on my order.
I have had a miserable experience wondering over the weekend whether the Fraud Detectives would approve charging my MasterCard.
The verification process for me was not quick, easy and painless.

I did eventually find out from PowerMax that my use of a credit card was in fact declined by the (Fraud Sciences) Verificator system. This system makes errors, and I suffered the inconveniences of both the delay and a forced prepayment."

Received no response to this inquiry whatsoever. Received several emails processing my order as quickly as possible, but absolutely no response to my question regarding price matching. A simple yes or no would have been professional, but nothing. Question was simply ignored. Seems like sales is more interested in pushing the purchase through than answering a simple question."

I had problems with one of the devices (not PowerMax's fault). I emailed them, they sent me an SMA number and turned around the replacement in remarkable time.

"PowerMax was just SUPER! I had a G4 1.33Ghz iBook that they took in as a trade toward a new MacMini 2.0 Ghz Core Duo with 1Ghz of RAM. The only part that took a little while was to get the trade in to clear, but that was to be expected and actually took LESS time than they advertise.
Anyway, once I got the credit, my awesome Mini showed up only 2 days later. WOW! I was so impressed!
Heidi was very helpful and definitely deserves props for a great buying experience.
