"In December, I placed an order to be sent to the hospital where my grandson was born. I called to find the order was never delivered. They assured me it would be delivered the next day. Which never happened either. I ended up asking for a refund. Upon getting a 20.00 gift certificate from 1800-flowers, I decided to try again for my mom's birthday yesterday. GUESS WHAT?? They were never delivered! When I called customer service, I was told that 'upon checking' they don't have a florist in the area where my mother lives, which is on the Upper East Side of New York City!! Even if that lie of an excuse were true, why didn't customer service call me?? SAVE YOURSELF THE AGGRAVATION AND AVOID DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! How they are still in business is beyond me!!"
"Terrible! I ordered flowers for my aunt's funeral 4 days before funeral. The day before the funeral they call and tell me that they don't have the flowers I ordered but would gladly sub something else. Great ... Now I have no idea what was sent or even if they arrived. They Suck!!!"
"TERRIBLE! The company I work for ordered flowers for a sick co worker. They were never delivered and she was discharged from the hospital so I called to have them delivered to her home. I gave her address and they said it was no problem and would be delivered the next day. They weren't. When I called again, they had the nerve to tell me that they would need another $10 service fee to deliver them, even though they never delivered them to begin with. I ended up just cancelling the order. Also my boyfriend used them to order flowers for me that did actually arrive (although not at the time they stated) but were wrong and missing chocolates he paid for.
Addendum: For the order my boyfriend placed, they did resend another arrangement that was very nice and much more accurate to what was advertised and two boxes of chocolates to make up for the error, so I was happy that they did follow through and resent another one the next day!"
"Not recomended. The only thing i like was the customer service coz they work with you if yu dont like something flowers not worth what i paid for tho."
"We ordered a bouquet of flowers on Christmas Eve (same-day delivery) for my friend dying of cancer, and received a confirmation email later in the day saying that the flowers had been delivered. Imagine my surprise when the next day we visited her home and found that no flowers had arrived! My husband called the company and was told that the delivery car had broken down. After many phone calls and emails to customer service where I expressed my extreme frustration, the flowers were still not delivered- it was now December 26th and it was supposed to be a Christmas gift. I called the New York company headquarters and spoke to FAYE- she was very rude and didn't even apologize, just kept asking me if I still wanted the flowers or wanted to cancel it. I was especially unhappy with the terrible service because I was ordering these flowers on behalf of a group of friends, who also visited, on December 26th, and did not see the flowers there! The flowers didn't arrive till the evening of December 27th- three days late! Absolutely ridiculous.
DO NOT EVER, EVER ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. We have never been so dissatisfied with a company and are appalled that they are still in business. "
"Claimed they delivered the arrangement to me but nothing was delivered. Called customer service. First they said that I had signed for them. Then they tried to contact the florist but no one was answering. Then they said they were out for delivery. What??? Will never use this company again! Nothing ever arrived."
"We ordered 3 Christmas arrangements on December 20, one for delivery on Dec 21 and the other 2 to be delivered on Dec 22. The one scheduled for Dec 21 was delivered on time. We got a phone call from 1-800-Flowers in the afternoon of Dec 22, saying that the arrangements we wanted were not available. We chose 2 other arrangements. Later the same day, we got another phone call, saying that delivery was not possible until Dec 26. I told the operator that since these were promised to be delivered in time for Christmas, that Wednesday was unacceptable. They offered a refund, which was to go to a debit card, and I am still waiting for my money to be refunded. I will never use this service again. I think they are over priced, and they don't keep their promise of prompt delivery."
"Horrible Company-----read on
My brother was sick with lung cancer. I wanted to send flowers to his home on a Fri. because he was terribly sick. I called 1-800-flowers to schedule a delivery for Fri. I did----- I get a call the following Mon. from my Sister-in-Law who let me know my brother had died on Sun. She said she was surprised to find flowers outside on her stoop in the middle of the winter on Mon. Well, so much for brightening my Brother's day on Fri...... I never got the chance again. 1-800-flowers, you should be ashamed of your company. I could go on about the flowers my other brother ordered for the funeral from 1800-flowers but I might start crying.........the company is a total flop. No star should be picked but i was forced to pick one to leave this feedback............"
"Really ridiculously slooooooooowwwww service. Don't expect to get your delivery the same date before 5pm. It's ridiculous. They have horrible time tracking service. "
"THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!
I ordered a $70 red roses for my grandmother to be delivered on her 92nd birthday. She was home all day but never got the flowers. When I called 800-Flowers they told me that the recipient was not home at the time (which is a lie). Finally, they agreed to deliver it the next business day. Again, it was not delivered with the same lie.
PLEASE DO NOT EVER ORDER FLOWERS HERE"
"Their score obviously speaks volume without me having to share my whole story. I ordered flowers 2 weeks ahead of time on the date I needed them delivered on. The day arrived and the flowers hadn't. I called them and they said that the flowers weren't supposed to arrive for another week. I asked why they even asked me for a delivery date if they were just going to deliver them on their watch. I spoke to two sales reps, the first one hung up on me after 30 minutes and never called back. After re-explaining everything to the second sales rep, she told me something completely different than the other had. I asked to speak with a manger or supervisor and after another 20 minutes of waiting, the sales rep came back and said she was too busy. I asked if she would call me back instead. Have yet to speak to a supervisor, see the flowers, or receive a refund. I WILL NEVER ORDER FROM THEM AGAIN."
"For once I took the bait for the November email deals revolving around Black Friday. 1-800-Flowers provides incessant emails to my inbox so I decided to plan ahead (18 days before birthday) and get flowers for my 92 year old grandmother. 3 days before the date I get a call not at the listed phone number (my work line) or a message at my stated email, but my home line indicating the arrangement ordered in no longer available.
I called the number left on my home answering machine and received a computer program asking for me to speak the order number. The computer never let me get past 8 characters which was laughable.
Finally I went to a live operator who seemed to have a bad connection or a language barrier, not sure which.
She indicated that the florist in the zip code I was planning on sending the order did not have the item. I should note that the zip code is buried in a large metropolitan area with multiple zip codes so I am surprised they were unable to look for more than one florist. That's neither here nor there.
Also, the order tracking at their site actually had a UPS tracking number that UPS had no record of. Odd!
Anyway, the representative would be happy to find another item however I was on the phone for over 20 minutes of hold and stilted communication. Finally, an arrangement costing twice as much was suggested at a new price.
1-800-Flowers.com had already charged my credit card 11 days ago and now appears to be looking for the purchase of a higher priced item. I would expect florists to increase their costs the closer to an event. I do not believe 1-800-Flowers.com had any interest in retaining my business or the deal I received for locking in during a particular sale.
I have a feeling that this model may work on those low price teaser sales. Anyway, if I had a better feeling about the phone call or their commitment to service, I may have gone with the simplicity of buying a different arrangement (and maybe paying more).
My grandmother, fortunately, would do the same thing I did, cancel the order and take my business elsewhere that is reliable as I have in the years past.
I too should have done more homework on the service of company."
"First time I used this company was for my girlfriend's birthday on April 2011. I ordered the flowers two months in advance, long story short the flowers didn't get to her until 3 days after her birthday. Customer service was horrible on the phone, one of the rep went as far as to laugh at me for having a girlfriend that lived in another continent. I tried emailing them and again was treated like garbage; I still have the multiple emails where the reps finds a way to accuse me for the flowers getting there late...So I really don't know why but I gave them another chance and recently ordered some flowers for my anniversary. Of course they let me down, got a call a few days after my purchase on which they told me that they can't deliver on the requested date. I asked why and received no explanations, just that it wasn't going to happen and if it was ok for it to get there the following day......I really don't know how these people stay in business. Horrible horrible company to deal with...NEVER again!
Ok so today is December 11th, my girlfriend finally received something from these people althought it's a day late... I say something because it isn't what I ordered, what I payed for was the Guzmania plant with a nice card; what she got was four wilted roses with a couple of green leaves thrown around with not much care. I of course already called to complain about this but I don't think the person I spoke to cared one bit about my issues. I was on hold for about 20 minutes, she finally picked up, I gave her my order number which should have brought up all the information about my purchase but when I asked her to tell me what they had on file as far as my order she couldn't tell me. She had to take my order number again and put me on hold to again look for my information. Clearly she lied the first time and was randomly punching keys to pretend like she was doing something. Anyways, when I explained what happened with my order her response to me was that she would send and email and find out from the florist why they sent the wrong order. This was very irritating to me and I had to remind her that I wash calling to hear an excuse why they botched my order but to get the matter fixed ASAP, I want what I paid for and nothing else. She said she'd take care of it and would send me an email letting me know what was you going. I doubt anything will be fixed but I will fight as much as possibly can to get what I deserve. It's funny because the only thing this person I spoke to actually showed interest in was that if give her a good review on the survey she said I'd be receiving by email in regards to her performance, not once did she show interest or concern about me or my situation..... I have little hope for anything to turn out right at this moment, and I will never ever ever use this company again, as a matter of fact I will go out of my way to make sure anyone I know doesn't use this "service". update* @6:00pm on 12/11/12, so this morning I spoke to Myriam operator #3571, she said she'd call me or email me by the end of the day to let me know what was going on, of course she didn't. I called back about 10 minutes ago, spoke to Jennifer operator#19560, she said the best she could do would be to give me half the money i spent back, I refused that option because I didn't make the mistake, they did..after going back and forth she put me on hold for about 5 minutes and then finally said she will give me a full refund. I'm supposed to get it within 3-5 business days, i have little hope for this actually happening considering their previous actions and disregard to customer service ....I will keep calling until I get my full refund back...never in my life has a company treated me with such carelessness and disrespect, how do they stay in business?????? absolutely horrible, would not recommend to my worse enemy."
"My husband sent me two dozen red roses for our 9 year anniversary. I was crying out of frustration just trying to get them out of the box. It only went down hill from there. There was no water, they were smashed, and no directions on how to arrange them. He probably spent way too much money for flowers that look terrible and should just be thrown away. What a disappointment. Will never order from them again.
UPDATE: They refunded the complete amount. I would have been happy with just their cost since I did receive the flowers."
"I ordered some flowers with a Custom vase which costed me total of
$80.07. I get a call today (one day before my delivery) from a person who could not speak clear English (damn job outsourcing) telling me that my vise was no longer custom, and if I still wanted it to be a custom vase I had to submit another order... I asked him how can he insure that I wouldn't be double charged and he couldn't give me a clear answer. So I just told him to send it as is. I will never buy any flowers from this site and I advise everyone else to stay clear from this company. I should have listen to the advise of my friends who told me not to order from these guys."
