"I placed an order on 8/29/12 to be delivered on 8/30/12, well it is now 9/4/12 and still no flowers. They are horrible and will not cancel the order and refund my money. They are telling me that they will be delivered today by 7:00pm. They said they had to change florists again.....really so this is now the 4th florist. This is the worst company ever. I will NEVER do business with them again nor will I ever refer anyone to them."
"Failed to delivery on date paid for...a simple requirement. Done with them."
"Looks like most people only leave reviews when things go badly. So, I'm leaving mine to say that my order was PERFECT and delivered exactly on time. 12 long-stem roses in a glass vase delivered to my GF's work. They really were awesome!! Thanks!"
"Basically, they guaranteed delivery on my wife's birthday, and botched the order. They didn't submit the order to the local florist.
No Birthday flowers, and no apology. Will not use again."
"DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! I spent $100 on flowers to be delivered EARLY to my daughters office on her birthday (paid extra for the early part). It is now late in the afternoon and the flowers have not been delivered. I am really afraid to see what they will look like. "
"I used 1-800-Flowers.ca with serious disappointment in the end. I used the site to send an Orchid to my future mother-in-law when she lost her mother. The choice had meaning to the family. However when I arrived at the visitation instead a Kalanchoe plant had been sent instead. I was not happy, especially considering the item sent was not only the wrong one, it was a cheaper item.
My boyfriend took a picture of it and I sent it off to 1-800-flowers.ca to get things addressed. Despite giving them a daytime phone number, they instead decided to call my evening number at 2pm and left several messages within less than 2 hours. I tried for 2 days to call back the number they gave only to be continually routed to a general voicemail.
So, I decided to e-mail them back again at which time I was told I could either get a 'store credit' or have the correct item resent. However, that was 3-days after the funeral, and there was no point then and I didn't really want my future mother-in-law to be involved in this mix-up. After fighting for another 2-days they finally agreed to simply refund the difference between the prices...however for some reason they didn't refund the tax on that amount.
Based on this I will never use 1-800-flowers.ca again. The item they did send was mediocre at best, not the item I requested, a cheaper one than was paid for, and their customer service is non-existent. Who gives out a customer service number where no one answers the phone? FTD might be more expensive, but considering I've never had a problem with them, you get what you pay for."
"As with other people on this site, this is now the second time that 800-flowers has failed to deliver sympathy bouquets on the arranged date, despite booking 8 hours in advance of delivery deadline and paying the extra fee. 800-flowers.com based in the USA is better with their deliveries but consistently fail to check whether stores are actually open in these delivery areas before promising same day delivery. I have to constantly fight with non-functioning overseas websites (I live in Dubai); the US company didn't even know the direct number to contact customer service ("we only have an 800 number"....I had to search for it myself by checking their stock listings on the exchange website!!)...and then I had to pay long distance charges to find out why they messed up a 150.00usd delivery.
Today I decided to use the canadian branch and they failed to deliver yet again.
This was my last delivery I will ever order from either the US or Canadian company.
They get 1 out of 5 only because I can't score them lower."
"I ordered an incredible bouquet for my mom's birthday. It was $81 and called "Fields of Europe." I received weeds and wilted roses with light purple daisies. Those were not even in the bouquet I ordered. I'm disappointed. The flowers that came to me this morning are maybe worth $12. I would love to be able to post a picture of what I ordered vs what I received. I even placed the order one week in advance. Customer service will give me a refund and I've had no problems with them. I also called the local flower shop which delivered, telling them about the poor quality I received. NEVER AGAIN."
"1-800 Flowers has failed (again).
To Memorialize:
1-800 Flowers failed to deliver my specified order on two separate occasions this past Mother’s Day. Initially my order was scheduled to be delivered (to my Godmother) on Mother’s Day – no flowers were delivered. I sent an email asking where the flowers were and I was told (with a guarantee) that my order would be delivered the following day. Once again – no flowers arrived. I believe the flowers were finally delivered several days later. At that point – the original intent/meaning behind sending the flowers has passed.
Another example on their failed execution:
When my own Mother passed away in 2010 – my co-workers attempted to send me flowers using 1-800 Flowers.
Once again – the flowers were NOT delivered on the specified order date. Several calls were placed to 1-800 Flowers and each time it was communicated that the flowers would be delivered the following day. This went on for several days. The flowers were finally delivered several days later – but not on the order date. Not only did the deliver person throw the flowers at my door (I was home at the time) but the flowers were dead. I threw them out shortly after they arrived. I am done using 1-800 Flowers for any of my future floral needs."
"Worst Mother's Day experience I've ever had; thank you. After confirming my order for my mother (who raised me as a single parent), 1800 flowers NOT deliver my flowers to my mom who lives 900 miles away from me, "tried contacting" me through an old number (which I updated along with my billing address, which worked, since they billed me), did not send me an email whatsoever to inform me that my order could not be delivered, and did not automatically refund my money (over $50; a lot when you're in college and subsisting on Ramen) when they found they could no longer deliver the flowers. "
"1800flowers.com outsources American jobs to India forcing loyal employees to apply for food assistance to feed their families, medical assistance because their families benefits are taken away, and unemployment, struggling to find a job in a bad economy after some have years of dedication with them. They are NOT the American Company they advertise themselves to be."
"Ordered a nice bouquet of multicolored tulips for my wife for Mother's Day, admittedly only 2 days ahead. However, the next day I got an email confirming my order was ready for shipping, so I was happy that it worked out, until the flowers came.
First, the flowers came 2 hours after the time frame I requested, forcing us to stay home and wait for them, delaying other plans.
Second, the bouquet of tulips turned out to be a mediocre yellow/white bouquet of daisies (not gerbers) mixed with weedy-looking things, that did not look anywhere near the value of the bouquet I ordered.
When I emailed to let them know of the mistake, I was copy/pasted the blurb from the website about bouquets not always looking exactly like the picture and that sometimes bouquets are out of stock.
I get that, it happens. But why send me a confirmation that my bouquet is ready without even notifying me of a change, giving me a chance to cancel, or change to a different bouquet of my choice? The only redeeming quality is the bouquet that I didn't like lasted for over a week.
When I emailed back wondering the above, I never received anything back.
Next time, I'll order from ftd.com or just buy 2 dozen roses from Costco for 1/4 of the price that I paid for a random, crappy bouquet."
"I ordered flowers from them for mothers day - they called me to ask the day and time for delivery which I supplied. I found out later that the package was delivered on the wrong day and it was also dumped on the front steps and left there. Disgusted. I called their customer service which was a joke. They told me there were dealing with it and would call me back the next day. It has been weeks and I still have not heard from them, no refund."
"Ordered flowers from them for MOTHER'S DAY! What a mess. I was sooooo embarrassed. They blamed the local florist. So disappointed..and I spent $100.00. I will NEVER do business with them again."
"Ordered flowers 4 days early for Mother's Day and the flowers never arrived. I got a thickly-accented barely-understandable phone message syaing I'd get a refund so I called back to see if the flowers were being sent. The customer service person was totally unhelpful, claimed the order had ben delivered several times, and tried to hang up on me. I have never had trouble before and was ready to be forgiving, but NO WAY I am ever ordering from them again."
